The south Portland location was great and actually had a truck for me. I was sent here from my original reservation in Saco. Saco was not â€œoverbooked until morning ofâ€ which really threw a wrench in my moving plans. I was lucky enough to get a truck out of Saco. But the fact your system lets people overbook is unreal to me. Overall nothing wrong with the south Portland location or the man running it but the Saco location I will never go to again.Katelyn S.

The online check-in process took almost 20 mins and then another 10+ mins checking the car in at return. So not so quick. The pricing displayed kept changing back and forth and was a bit confusing saying I had 100 mile limit. Multiple times shifted from $20day + $.69/mile over to $89/day with 100 mile limit.Ryan P.

The truck had a door that moved very hard near the top of its travel. Unless you jerked it up with enough force, you could hurt herself trying to raise it. Needs to be fixed. Also, I was charged an extra day's rental for unknown reasons. Still waiting on an explanation.TIMOTHY H.

The truck was parked so close to the truck next to it that if the trailers behind had been any closer, I wouldn't have been able to turn easily to get out. The floor of the cab was muddy from previous rental and then back of the truck had been left open.Todd R.

My comment does not pertain to the location but to the App for managing the rental. I tried to change my pick-up date and time using the app and it is very odd, where it allows you to write a message (where in my case I requested a change) and yet there is no response/confirmation email or text. After a day or so I called the location where they had no record of my request and were happy to take care of it manually on their end.Robert M.

Truck overheated after driving 15 miles locally. I sat at a landfill for 3 hours waiting for roadside assistance. Local vendor was 5 miles away and would not bring a gallon of coolant to me (which was all it needed because it was empty when I picked up the truck). Vendor then 'discounted' me the $18.75 fuel shortage when it had exactly the same amount of fuel as when I picked it up. Too tired to argue with them. Missed my company outing which was a boat ride in Casco Bay. Not a great experience but was able to move my belongings into my storage unit.Alan W.

Don't follow Google directions!!! Just stay on Main Street. I didn't know the location was open on a Sunday morning, and I was dreading the online drop off process. Then the attendant knocked on my window and offered to do it for us in the office. It was a breeze! He was so nice and helpful. I would absolutely use this location again.Amanda I.

A number of issues with this location. I was told I had to accept the UHaul insurance or they would not rent the vehicle to me (I have my own insurance through State Farm). â€œIf you don't accept the insurance you can go rent somewhere elseâ€. The truck had empty alcoholic beverages cans and old coffee cups in the cab. The truck was due back at 9am, I was was running late but at 9:25am I received a call from this location telling me if didn't bring the truck back immediately I would be charged a $300 late fee. Overall terrible experience and I question the legality of forcing me to take your insurance and threatening me with late fee.Eric P.

Some feedback to the U-Haul company, not the franchises. There should be a reimbursement policy when the tank is returned well above the start point level. The start level was barely above 3/8 full and was returned with 5/8 full. It is difficult to estimate the amount of gas use. To add insult to injury, we were charged for going 11 miles over the 192 limit! U-Haul should build in some flexibility in their policies to allow for making judgement calls in favor of the customer.
