The online check in and out process is terrible it takes over 20 minuets for each. The app is slow and keeps getting stuck and making you redo things over and over again. The truck smelled like cigarette smoke. Was Parked in a very tight spot.

One staff working, running his tail off and didnt go thru any U-Haul inpection process, explanation, or advise us we would expect time sensitive emailed or SMS links. Nice guy, trying hard, running full bore. This station isnt repping U-Haul in a professinal manner

The trailer fish-tailed at 45 MPH and on. A trip that usually takes 7 hours took 11 hours. I pulled over at least 30 times to let others pass. It was a terrible trip!!

The pick up of equipment was excellent and the equipment itself was great. I wish I remembered names as the guy checking me out and the guy hooking up the trailer were both awesome. I checked out at 11am on a Saturday. If it all went good from here I would have given a top rating in my review. However, when I returned the equipment at 10:45 am the next morning I asked to be checked out because it was so close to the 24 hr mark. The attendant claimed to be too busy to check me out but he promised that he would put in the actual return time. Well, he lied to me. I got an email 3 hours later that said the trailer was returned at 1:35 pm and that I was being charged for a second day. After a long call to u-haul customer service where I was on hold for a half hour, I explained the situation. They tried to call the location and they did not answer. They escalated the claim and I’ll see if I get refunded. While I might get reimbursed for the extra day charge that I didn’t use, I won’t get back my time being on hold. I would rent from uhaul again because the checkout experience was good as was the trailer. But do not let them delay your check in or you might be wrongfully charged for a second day.

Attendant noticed that the hitch ball was loose but did not try to tighten it. We tried but could not get it any tighter. Almost lost the trailer. They need to have the right equipment to handle this kind of situation. Are they not responsible to make sure of the safety of there equipment equipment and the customer.

My reservation was for a different location and it wasn’t until I got there and was informed I would have to go to the Portland ave location. Once there they only had one car dolly that was poorly maintained and was difficult to use but at that point I was already behind schedule and had no choice but I use I.

A simple wipe down of reflective branding/stickers and reflectors/lights would make a good bit of difference. Prior to drop off, i took 15 -20 min. to wipe off all lighting, reflective stickers, reflectors, and wheels. I left it in much better shape than received and in nice shape for the next renter. I had requested the 2" ball hitch device for the trailer which was not at the pickup location upon arrival. Assumed it was included in the rental. I was directed to a nearby location to pick up one, and then found out it was a $24.99 purchase. Then back to the original location. Added about 90 minutes.

Your phone reservation service is appalling. Super frustrating during an already frustrating time! They messed up the day, the time AND the location costing a precious hour’s waste of my time! Do your phone people need hearing aides? Downright maddening!

I initially had a reservation at another location at Marketstreet (please see your records). When I showed up there they had mo knowledge of my reservation, had no tow dolly on site (according to them) and couldn’t/wouldn’t help me. I had to call 3 times to have my reservation changed to the Portland RD location. Over there they helped me fine but needles to say I’m not happy with the Market st location and the U-Haul reservation system as a whole. I finally left Salem 1 hr late and because of that I hit rush hr, something I had tried to prevent by leaving earlier. All in all, bad experience with U-Haul and I seriously don’t understand why you keep stations like the one on Market st open if they refuse to support the U-Haul experience, if I owned U-Haul I’d get rid of them.

Location good. Staff very nice. Reservation people bad. Messed up reservation and made us go to Hubbard and no truck ready. This was after a week of calls and emails from uhaul that asked us to do them a favor and pick up and drop off at different location. Then when returned they did not charge per the agreed rate for doing this. We were happy enough with original deal and did not need this hassle!

The guy said the computer wouldn’t allow him to choose a one day rental so I had to pay for two days but he assured me I’d get a refund of half my money back $336 total when I returned the trailer within 24 hours. I returned the trailer well within 24 hours and they would not refund my money. I called the 800 number and was forwarded to the regional manager and he said he would refund $20 that was over two weeks ago and still nothing. I will never rent U-Haul again.

5x8 uhual trailer was not attached properly by employee. Make sure employees fully trained and know what they are doing. I went to a different uhual location to have a different employee ensure proper attachment of cargo trailer to vehicle. Trailer was damp inside when picked up. Trailer had duct tape inside on floor to cover a hole!

I had a terrible experience at pick up. The person who helped me was very rough. He was consistently distracted, admitted he knew nothing about the equipment and was overall very rude and unhelpful. If I had any other choice on the day of pick up I would have left and used another company. That location should not be associated with Uhaul!

Mark (African American one)....has always treated me with respect !!!! He knows is job & what I need every time I go in !!i never have issues with him like I do with the most of the other worker ! I've been going there for 3+ yrs.

The facility I rented from was a Shell gas station. The employee who check the trailer out to me was named Charles. Charles provided good customer service while also trying to pump gas and man the cash register. He was very thorough when hooking up the trailer and double checked his work. Upon the return of the trailer later in the same day I had a different employee, I believe his name was Phil. This employee was not as helpful. First he made some remark to the effect of whether or not I was returning it to the right place. Like I wouldn't know where I picked it up from. Then we went out to the trailer, he looked at the trailer, asked if I had any problems and then told me to have a nice day. He left the trailer connected to my vehicle. I had to un hitch the trailer myself. I will not go back to this facility nor will I recommend them!

From the beginning phone call after I had rented the trailer on line I was extremely pleased with the customer service and helpful attitude. It was very nice to always talk with a person and not a machine. Please never give that up. We picked the trailer up from a fellow on a small lot and he was terrific even while being very busy with other customers. He made us feel very taken care of. After renting your trailers many times over the last 15 years this was by far the easiest and the most enjoyable experience. I wish I could say thank you again to the two people that helped us make our moving experience great. Please let them know we appreciated their service Garry Z

There was no drop box, so we had to return the next morning to drop off the key. It would be best if drop boxes were required.

Took forever to checkout, no one seemed to know what they were doing. After I finally got all the paperwork everybody disappeared and I had to back up and hook up the trailer by myself. I will not use that location again

Charged for additional two days when it was one day and threes hours over. No consideration given to breakdown during move from two defective tires on the trailer causing one days delay. Attendant stated he could not do anything about it, company policy.

Very pleased with the experience. The unit, a Transit Connect Cargo van, was perfect for my needs and drove very well. The person at the station who facilitated the rental was very pleasant and helpful. I'd rent again any time.

When we dropped off the tow dolly the first employee we dealt with didn't help us unattach the equipment (when asked), didn't communicate what the process was and left us standing around. We had to go find him to ask if we were done with the drop off procedure. When we later dropped off the truck the next employee we worked with was more helpful.

Only one attendant on. The site and in Oregon one cannot pump own gas. It took a half an he for the gentleman to help me as he wa the only staff member. Set me back a half hour on my schedule. Nice man though. Just needs a helper b
