We just travelled for a total of 5miles., gas up of almost 3gallons and still not enough to reach the starting gas level. And ended up having charged for additional 2Gallons of gas for 13usd. For a total of almost 5gallons of gas for 5miles of travel. Please make necessary adjustment. Thanks

Smooth pickup at this U-Haul location. Debris in the van floor which I removed before returning bc I was afraid they’d charge me for someone else’s mess. Was charged a $25 cleaning fee anyway?? Called customer support and the U-Haul location had submitted a photo of some scant dirt in (I think?) the footwell. I mean, I wore shoes. If I’d have known they were sensitive to some trace dirt I’d have brought a towel with me and took a whole 5 seconds to wipe off. Use at your own risk.

The clerk has a line of people waiting. Tells me to wait and goes outside for over 15 min. - comes back smelling like cigarette smoke and gives me a dirty truck with an empty tank. Same guy who over charged me before and is over charging me again with this rental truck I just rented.

This Postal Annex is notably better than the local U-Haul location. The local U-Haul location is slow and dishonest so I always prefer to come here. Postal Annex gives you a much more personal and honest service. I recommend it over and above going in to U-Haul.

They did not check in my vehicle when I brought it back until the next day thus resulting in excess charges. They did not provide the accurate moving supplies I had reserved yet they charged me for them. They provided extra supplies I did not reserve and then charged me for those as well. When I called about the double charges and the fact they did not return my vehicle that was dropped off 3+ hours before closing this doubling my charges the owner rabi said he would deal with this Monday and call me back. He never did. Nor did he properly refund me.

The location didn’t have a u-haul sign at tge storefront. After the paperwork was completed he tried to sell me a used flashlight for $65. The van was dirty with just a 1/4 tank of gas. He then charged me a cleaning fee and I used the van for less than 10miles and hauled a mattress. It was raining so actually, the van was cleaner than before I rented it. Ill never go back there again. No thanks u haul. Never again.

I was charge $25 cleaning fee and the truck when I got it was full of mud and dirt and gas tank was nearly empty. I was told I would get a refund and instead I got charge an additional $40 ??? I just check my credit card charges and don’t see a credit, instead I see an additional $40 charge !!!!

The gas level was a bit of a problem but the difference was explained by people syphoning gas from the tank. A locking gas cap would settle the problem.

Rental van was completely out of gas. Was told to fill it up at the station. I was told it holds 20 gallons or so. Filled up tank with 29.5 gallons of gas. Returned van after 200 miles with 3/4 tank full, and received only a $15 fuel credit. That seems unfair.

I had a very bad experience with my Uhaul van. Reservation and check-in were great. I was happy that it was a clean, new van with low miles. It had a 1/4 tank of gas, which at the time was not a concern. I was picking up a piece of furniture 60 miles away. Upon nearing the pickup location, I stopped for gas. I attempted to get gas, but the pump continually shut off after 1-2 seconds. I followed the instructions in the gas tank area but could not get the gas to flow w/o it shutting off after 1-2 seconds. I drove to a different pump, hoping that was the cause. Unfortunately, the same thing happened. I asked another customer filling up next to me to try, and he had the same issue. I was a bit panicked since the gas was running low, and I was concerned about making it back. I spent about 15 minutes to get 2 gallons in the van. I then picked up my furniture piece and then proceeded to yet another gas station to try again. The tire pressure light went on during my drive to that gas station. Since the van only had a few hundred miles, I was surprised. I attempted to fill up the tire at the gas station, but the air hose wasn't working. I tried to fill up again at that station, and the pump wouldn't go on. On my way to yet a 3rd gas station, I, fortunately, found a Uhaul shop, and they filled the tires for me but had no recommendation on the gas issue. At the 3rd station, I had the same problem: The gas tank wouldn't even engage. At this point, as you can imagine, I was very anxious and upset. I decided to head back to Walnut Creek, 60 miles away, and hoped that I made it. I did call the 1-800 #, and they thought there might be an issue with the van gas tank itself. Fortunately, I returned to Walnut Creek and stopped at the 4th gas station. I had the same issue as the first one: the gas stayed on for 1-2 seconds and shut off. I spent another 15 minutes dripping enough gas into the tank to get it to 1/4 full. When I returned the van, I let the attendant know. I showed her a video of what happened. It was a very exhausting and upsetting experience, and I felt alone and scared, not knowing if I would make it back. This should not have happened and I guarantee the person who had the van before me had the same experience and is probably why the tank was only 1/4 full when I picked it up.

I had a bad experience with my truck rental. The truck was so filthy inside and out (caked dry mud). The handle on the wheel which allows you to move to (D) drive or any other control on the wheel was stuck. A “cleaning fee was imposed so I was charged for the last customer dirtiness. Then I had the rental for 2 days and charged for 3 days. 🤦🏽‍♀️ DISAPPOINTED!!!

The truck smelled of cigarette smoke. My problem with uhaul is the rental pricing is deceptive. I thought the $19.95/day for the pickup truck was a great deal. It would be, but you will pay much more.Mileage ($0.79/mile!) and a $25 cleaning fee, made my actual cost was nearly $60/day. I felt deceived.

I rented a Uhaul cargo van to take some of my living room furniture to donate to local charities. The vehicle was not exposed to any dirt or grime and yet I was charged a $25 cleaning fee!! I only learned about it two days after I rented the van, because when I checked it back in the guy was busy and said he would check the fuel level then send me a final receipt. In the moment I felt like I should wait and have him finalize the charges but I didn’t, so that’s on me. It still feels crappy and shady to be charged $25 for an unnecessary cleaning fee.

Make sure the cabs are clean in between rentals. Also, check the gas because the one I rented said half full and it was at 1/8th. It is annoying having to get gas twice for a short trip.

You have a location that admits that people syphon gas from the trucks, but the employees don't verify the fuel level when the lease out the trucks. Also, they charge me for a cleaning fee, when the inside was clean upon delivery. I wish i had done a final walk through with an employee versus relying on them doing it as there is no way to tell if some random person didn't open the truck after i delivered it... Very disappointing experience.

I was very unhappy, when I was charged a cleaning fee for $25.00 when I only had the truck for 3 hours. The truck had debris and broken glass in the back and we had to clean the back ourselves. Their reason to charge the cleaning fee because there was debris on the driver side, (because the truck was never cleaned), I did receive my refund, but will never go to the store again.

The vehicle I reserved was not available. They offered another vehicle with no reduction in price and since I was constrained by time, I agreed. The van had nearly no gas in it - the gas light came on after driving 10 miles. This was very inconvenient because I had to stop for gas during my haul. The left blinker and tail light were burnt out which I was not alerted to beforehand. This is dangerous and should be fixed ASAP. Finally I was charged a $25 cleaning fee, despite the fact that the vehicles was returned with the same level of cleanliness as I received it.

I was charged 25.00 for cleaning . Both vehicles were brought back the same wau they went out . Day 1 of rental I could not use truck as the door was locked with a pass word lock . By the time I got a call back with code the day was over . Both truck cabs had water bottles in them .

Please make sure trucks are clean. Steering wheel was sticky. They charged me $25 for cleaning fee after returning it as is. They claimed i left a garbage. Truck condition was scary cuz engine light is on. Im afraid it will breakdown in the middle of the road. Overall, not even sure if i will rent u- haul again!

It was disappointing that there was virtually NO gas in the van. The location was hard to find because there was no indication that a UHaul company was in the plaza. Overall, the attendant was professional and polite and easy to work with.

I never thought I would say these words, but this was the best vehicle rental experience of my life. Every other time I've rented a moving truck or other rental cars, the people working there try to scare me into getting more expensive insurance and up-selling me on add-ons, which is totally annoying. Robbie, the owner, is super cool. He tried to get me to rent LESS moving blankets, because he didn't think I'd need so many. He gave me a cookie. He also has a very cool Ducati and we talked about motorcycles for a while. I would come here again even if it was farther away than other Uhaul locations.

Very confusing point of drop-off. Didn't know where to leave the truck or where to put the key. I got ahold of someone on the phone, and they were very helpful and guided me as to what had to be done for complete drop off.

Overall, I would say that this Walnut Creek CA location is a much better place to do business than your big Corporate place on Monument Blvd in Concord, Ca. You might want to help this Franchisee with better signage.
