Concern Regarding Mileage Charges and Vehicle Safety Issues Hello, I’m reaching out regarding my recent truck rental experience and the unexpected charges that were applied after drop-off. At the time of pickup, I was informed that the rental included unlimited miles. Because I was in a rush while completing the paperwork, I specifically asked the representative about making an additional stop during my trip. I was reassured not to worry, as I was told the rental included unlimited mileage. Based on this information, I proceeded with the trip under the understanding that there would not be any mileage limitations. However, after returning the truck, I was informed that I exceeded 242 miles and was charged $258. This came as a complete surprise, as this limitation was never communicated to me. It is very concerning and unprofessional to be told one thing at pickup and then charged for something different afterward, especially when I relied on the representative’s guidance. Additionally, I experienced several serious safety issues with the truck during the trip. While driving on the highway, the vehicle shut off three separate times. This occurred while traveling at highway speeds, which created a dangerous situation for myself, my wife, and our two dogs. Having a vehicle unexpectedly lose power while driving is a significant safety hazard and could have resulted in a serious accident. On top of that, when the truck reached speeds around 65 mph, it began shaking heavily. The vibration was severe enough to make it feel like the vehicle required immediate maintenance or servicing. This made the drive extremely stressful and raised major concerns about the truck’s condition and overall safety. Given that I was provided incorrect information regarding mileage, along with the significant safety and reliability issues experienced during the trip, I believe the additional $258 charge should be reconsidered. The condition of the vehicle itself created a liability and negatively impacted what should have been a straightforward rental experience.
