Specifically asked for no insurance, both on the reservation filled online and in person. Claimed you need to have it to rent which is false and put it in the invoice anyway. Additionally, the truck was listed as having 5/8 fuel when it had 1/4 and was returned with 1/4 and they charged us for SEVEN GALLONS OF FUEL (shocker it's from a gas station). I called customer service 2x to get this fixed and nothing as of yet.Daisy S.

It seems like the approval process should happen prior to the pick up. It took me over 10 minutes for an agent to approve my documents over the internet while I was standing by the truck. Providing the documents should happen when making the reservation, which requires a drivers license number anyway, and it can be approved any time before the time of pick up.Kristine K.

The U-haul app was a nightmare. It wouldn't register my UK driving license on the check in and on the return it would not allow me to go past the check fuel and mileage section. Everytime i took a picture and confirmed it would then reset the page. I think work needs to be done on the app. Luckily the attendant there was really helpful.Leanne M.

I spent 3 hours contacting customer service to get a drop off location. I was hung up on, left on hold, given wrong numbers to call or right numbers to have someone tell me they couldn't help me. I called every Uhaul rental location in Brooklyn and every one refused to take the truck. I had to force the guy at this location to call someone and to take the truck after arguing for ten minutes. I was charged a damage fee and late drop off fee which I am going to dispute. This was the absolute worst customer service experience of my life (local and through your telephone service). I will never use your service again and tell anyone who asks to stay away. Really, you guys need to get your shit together, or go out of business so more efficient companies can operate and not treat people like shit, overcharge, and provide terrible customer service.Brendan M.

The steering wheel and ignition were jammed every time I turned on the can (including the first time I started it). It took my a lot of effort and time every time I had to start the vehicle, and made my moving process much more difficult. The vehicle was not in good or safe working condition and I would like a refund.Phoebe B.

The truck was I given had steering wheel issues and engine ignition issues. The attendant had to show me how to jigger the steering wheel while starting the car. I had to do this every time I started the car. It was exhausting and obviously this truck needs repairs and SHOULD NOT be given to paying customers.Treston R.

Your van smelled like cat piss, I think there was a cum stain on the driver's seat and lastly you handed me the van almost completely on empty and I returned it exactly how you gave it to me yet I got charged a gas and service fee, and when I spoke to you guys about that you asked about the paper that has the gas level marked off but you guys didn't actually mark anything off so there was nothing to compare it to, which I think was intentional I'm pretty sure y'all are scamming people on purpose This was the worst uhaul experience I've ever had ðŸ™ðŸ‘ŒðŸ–•PAULA F.

Review the rental qualifications THE DAY PEOPLE MAKE THEIR RESERVATIONS, not the day of the rental. I waited for 25 minutes outside in 80 degree weather waiting to be approved and resubmitting all my information I had Already submitted the same day I made my reservation. The gentleman who was working is incredible. He was kind, courteous, and extremely efficient multi-tasker. I had been attempting to return my U-haul van for an hour through the app. I'd power cycling my phone 3 times. Still wouldn't work. I was so frustrated and overwhelmed I had to leave, so I put the keys in the drop box. That app needs help.Clinton C.
Location and van were good. I tried to check in online and they asked me for two alternate contacts, saying they would be contacted specifically in the case the van wasn't returned on time. Instead they called both my alternate contacts early in the morning from an unrecognizable number and wouldn't let me check in when they didn't answer. Had to start all over with the employee behind the counter. Has to be a better system than that for online check in or else there's not point to it.Kevin S.

This isn't about the location but for the U-Haul company: The vans are not gas efficient. They use up a lot of gas for such a short distance and it adds up to the cost of renting with U-Haul. Please invest in vans and vehicles that are more gas efficient. Your customer demographic are people who have limited financial budgets, if they didn't, they would hire movers.
