POTENTIAL RENTERS BE WARNED! This is not a U-Haul rental outlet. There are no staff at this location to assist in picking up or returning your rental (nor does anyone associated with Radar 2400 Freight Dispatch _ever_ pick up the telephone or respond to voicemail messages (believe me, I tried multiple times). This is simply a dirt parking lot behind a commercial building in Evanston (not visible from Foster Street, by the way, nor with any signage on Foster Street to indicate you are in the right location), where U-Haul rental vehicles are parked, unattended. Making a reservation online was relatively simple (although, again, no one is available to answer any questions you may have, and I had several). However, at no point in the reservation process, or in the one or two emails sent to you before your scheduled pick-up time, is it ever made clear you MUST use the U-Haul app to retrieve and return your vehicle (because no one associated with Radar 2400 Freight Dispatch works at this location). This was a major problem for me when I went to get my cargo van. Fortunately, a very helpful and patient U-Haul representative at its national toll-free helpline (the number for which is notably not listed anywhere on the sole sign at the pick-up location but was thankfully included on the reservation form) was able to assist me when the app and the lockbox containing the vehicle key failed to function properly. All that said, the van was there waiting for me, it worked well, and the price was right. Now that I am fully aware of the peculiar nature of this setup and its serious limitations, I may use it again in the future. But if you have difficulty with mobile apps or require the assistance of a human being, I strongly recommend using another U-Haul location.

The locatiuon was very convenient to my home. However, the procvess of first locating and then obtaining the key was very unclear. Details could bve given to the customer via email prior to arrival as to the process of obtaining the key.
Philip GCouldn’t figure out how to get van from this unmanned location. It took me 3 phone calls and 45 minutes to get keys to van. Far from ideal, and there were no instructions for process anywhere.
Christiane GKey retrieval was very challenging as we were unable to open the lock for the key box. The owner called me and tried to walk me through the code for the lock, but in the end he had to drive to lockbox and open it himself as it was very difficult to open.
