The truck was dirty and the guy couldn't honor the deal I got even though he said he would make it happen. I just found out I was charged $70 more than what I agreed to and I think it is because he told me I needed to bring the truck back to his establishment instead of the one listed.Charles S.

I will never go to this location again. First the guy was extremely rude, he didn't explain anything, he left us waiting without a word and when we asked about the return process on Sunday he said that the person would look over the truck and verify that the truck was clean and had the right amount of gas. They ARE NOT EVEN OPEN ON SUNDAY. I had to call customer service to help me. Lastly on Monday I ended up getting the final invoice with an additional almost $60 charge with ZERO explanation. This location clearly had shady business practices and zero professionalism.Patricia G.

We were having a hard time over all with picking up our truck. Was not called the night before. I called to find where to puck up, after a 45 min wait we were told to drive out to Banning. Called the uhaul there and was told I needed to be there exactly noon or lose our rental to the next renter. Wish I had gotten the name of who I talked to because he was not very understanding and argued with me. This rental location was 1hr away. I would not recommend this location to anyone. We have used uhaul in the past and for the most part everything was ok. This time we did not have a very good experience. We will be renting again soon and hope to have better experience.Scott T.
The employee at this shop was extremely rude. I pulled into his lot(storage place). He came out and informed me that I had to back the truck up onto a busy road. I informed him that I wasn't comfortable doing this. He told me to have the driver I arrived with do it for me in a sarcastic voice. (drive was my 87 year old mother in law) I was forced to park the car because I was told that he couldn't get in the car for 2 hours. Guy was a complete jerk. I was not welcome to check out in his office. I gave him the keys. He didn't check me out or review the content of the truck. I would never recommend this guy to anyone. As far as I'm concerned I should get a complete refund for the awful experience my husband had.Charlene K.

Very unprofessional. I'd never rent from here again. And I don't recommend it for anyone else. The gas tank and mileage we're marked incorrectly and even after talking to the employee I was charged over $30 for the corrections. The employee was very rude and unhelpful to me and the woman in line ahead of me (she was told to come back in two days for another truck because the one she rented wouldn't start, they had other trucks out there but said she couldn't switch to a different truck because she's not a corporate account) . The employee obviously didn't want to do his job that Saturday as he kept exclaiming that he's the only one working today and he's closing early today at 3pm. I will never come here again.Erin B.

Sadly at this location, the person working at the counter seemed to be put off by our presence and really did not want to help us after we had advised him that your main company had gave us this location to pick our truck. He told me and my wife that our reservation was not at his location even though we explained to him that it was. He told me to try another location down the road. Just as we were getting ready to leave for this other location, our rental had arrived. He seemed like we were bothering him from taking his break or something. Very unprofessional in his attitude and his service. I would not recommend this specific place for any rentals.Timothy P.
The 24 hour pickup system is flawed as the app does not give the opportunity to see the current mileage and fuel level at pickup time to ensure that it's accurate. It was not, it was off by 50 miles, but the location made it right.JENNY F.

For using U-Haul for my very first time it was the worst experience ever the man gave me in accurate information over the phone he gave me one price and then when I got there it was a different price. Checked the truck back in before it was due and he never checked the truck in his computer so the kept the hold on my bank account (like a good $150 dollars). I had to call him and he wasn't answering his phone had to call the main office and they had to hunt the man down and the hold didn't come off until 3 days after we checked the truck back in and he told us the remaining balance would be there right away which was another lie. So disappointed with my whole experience. I would NEVER use this company again.Crystal G.

Manager was rude and spoke to me as if I was a child. He made derogatory comments about me in Spanish to an associate of his that was standing next to me. I understood everything he said and I needed the rental at that time because they were about to close, so I said nothing. He over charged me when i already had a locked in price of $19.95 as an upgrade and instead of .59 cents a mile he was charging me .99 cents a mile. Also the mile he on the speedometer read that I had already drove 28 miles then what our receipt printout read and that was when I got home from just renting. I live less then 2 miles away. I don't get how this man this business can get away with this.David W.
The truck was late upon pick-up and everything after that was fine until I received a second charge on my credit card two days after using the rental because I "used more mileage on the truck than I said I was going to use". I understand why they charged me but a heads up would have been much appreciated; they could have simply called me a said "Hey, you used a little more mileage than you estimated. This means that we're going to have to charge you an additional $5.00. Is this alright?" Communication with the customer is EVERYTHING and them simply pulling money from my card without telling me, no matter the amount, made me feel very vulnerable and un-trusting of this company. Front desk clerk was extremely rude and had horrible communication skills. He talked over my boss the entire time she was trying to ask a question and he was being a total jerk. He insulted her and i took that as disrespectful he wouldn't even let her finish and then was arguing and she wasn't and was the only one talking because he assumed she was going to say something that was nothing close to what she was even trying to say and he did not even let her get an entire sentence out of her mouth before he did. I will never go back there again and i dont care if i have to drive 50 miles to get a uhaul i will make sure my friends and family and everyone i know never does business there as well. My family is huge and we have been in cabazon, morongo rez and banning and beaumont and dhs and yuciapa for the past almost 100years...i am related to everyone. Trust and believe i am going to write horrible reviews in online so everyone else does not have to deal with this man insulting and disrespecting them. my boss was very upset and to top it off he shorted her $10.00!! i will be posting the receipt pictures online with my poor reviews and to the newspaper as well. I hope he does not have a job very long because he is not doing your business any good that is for sure. He is hands down the worst customer service person i have dealt with in my entire life and i cannot believe someone with his foul attitude could even get hired anywhere! shame on you for allowing him to deal with the public that is already going through stressful moves and is only trying to obtain a service and pay for it. If people are polite to you there is no reason to be so ill mannered and rude. It was way out of hand and i hope you have cameras in there and get rid of this guy because everybody is going to know how he treated my boss and her family is from her just as long as mine. Letters are going to be written and blogs will go out about the (i cannot even come up with a word to describe) treatment for no reason other than he wanted to leave and hates women. thank you for your time. Take a picture of mileage on odometer before your leave, otherwise employee of facility will add 5miles therefore charging you $4.95 more. Also, have employee check key drop box for keys daily, and log the rental back on premises Monday, if the factility is closed Sunday, otherwise you will get a phone call 3 days later asking for the rental back, when it was brought back same day.GREG M.
I am used to going to a u-haul store. When I got to this location, I was told to not over fill the gas just put enough to get to where it was When I picked it up. I asked if there was a senior discount. He just chuckled and said no. The number of miles were 2011 before I moved the truck. He has a different lower number. The gas in the truck was a little over 1/4. I put in 15.00. I have the receipt if you need it. Every dollar to me right now, is important. I will not use this particular place again. At the stores they have always been to the truck with me to write down, mileage and amount of gas. I am very disappointed in the service he gave. Thank you for the opportunity to use u-haul. I have moved 8 times in California and have always used u-haul. The guy there didn't really seem like he cared one way or another.Linda L.

My experience was awful. They mixed up my reservation for the wrong day, plus the website says they are open until 5:30 but they close at 5. And finally they tried to tell me I would have to drive 1.5 hours to get my truck somewhere else. Awful experience. I will not be using U-Haul again.Michael S.
I have to say the staff at Newport Blvd in Costa Mesa U Haul right by the fairgrounds are top notch. Especially Ramsey at the service desk. Best person I have ever done business with turning in a truck rental. And Ihave used U Haul for years. ?? ??robert C.

NICK RENTED A VAN TO ME THAT WAS FILLED WITH HIS STUFF. THIS LARGE BOX IN THE BACK OF THE VAN WAS THE REASON THAT I DID NOT GET MY MOVING COMPLETED. WHEN I RETURNED TO U-HAUL SO THAT HE COULD REMOVE HIS STUFF SAFELY, HE DIDN'T THANK ME AND ACTED LIKE I WAS COMPLETELY STUPID FOR RETURNING HIS STUFF TO HIM. HE TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD HAVE MADE AND EXTRA TRIP AND BEEN CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL DAY! I WAS VERY UPSET AND NEVER WANT TO RENT A U-HAUL FROM NICK ON RAMSEY AGAIN.LEIGH P.

Your staff needs to be professional (that in itself should say volumes). The truck was filthy, the cab had leftovers from someone's lunch, trash, etc. The back of the van had cardboard, layers of dirt and crumbled tape everywhere. When I pointed it out to the staff, they just shrugged. I also noticed two discrepancies on the paperwork with regards to the gas and the mileage. I felt like I was being set up to pay more. I definitely will NOT go back to this location and will definitely think twice about renting from Uhaul in the future.MARALYN S.

U-haul, I chose U-haul to help me move my deceased Father's items from Banning California to Santa Barbara California. I did not look into any other moving companies, confident that u-haul is the absolute best in the business. As moves are often emotional anyways, mine has been multiplied by the fact that not only has my Dad died, but my youngest son is being deployed to Afghanistan and my husband has left me. Honestly I could not handle one more thing going wrong. So that is why I am hopeful that when you see what happened I will be given a correction on my bill. I live in Santa Barbara and started off visiting our local U-Haul at 4417 Hollister Ave. I found the employees to be more than I could have asked for! They absolutely walked me through the process, explained with great patience (I am dyslexic) how the whole process would work. They corrected me when I assumed I would have to rent the truck in Santa Barbara, drive it down to Banning and back. I found that I would only have to drive and pay for one way! I bought ropes and was told I would be renting the recommended number of blankets at the Banning store. They were even nice enough to make arrangements with the Banning store so we would just have to arrive there and everything would be set. I can't tell you how relieved I was. Our original rental date was to be 5-18-2010 but needed to be changed to 5-20-2010. As you can see by the email below, 5-19 was confirmed by u-haul but my son Ben phoned and corrected the change of the original plan. On arriving at U-haul in Banning, my experience with the one young man employee was night and day to my experience in Santa Barbara. He was short and unfriendly on the verge of being plain rude. I felt uneasy and did not understand when he told me that he no blankets rent. I explained to him that we were moving a marble table and this would not work with out the padding. He repeated â€œI don't have any blanketsâ€. I nicely explained that arrangements had been made from the S.B. store and I was assured blankets would be available for me to rent. â€œNo blanketsâ€, I was told yet again. I excused myself, stepped outside and was going to call the S.B. store for help. I was feeling very anxious and very upset. I never completed the call because as my son stayed inside he noticed a stack of blankets on a chair behind the desk. â€œWhy did you tell my Mom you had no blankets for her move when there is a whole stack of them right thereâ€? The guy put them on the desk without comment then went out to a storage garage (I saw him through window) and started tossing out used blankets. He folded them and tossed them into our truck. It wasn't until we opened up the truck at our destination that we smelled cat pee and poop permeating the truck bed. One of the blankets was coved in cat pee and poop! I was so upset from the whole interaction with him/Banning store that I just put in a garbage bag and used the other ones. I knew there was no way he could have foBEN F.
Not only did DJ & Sons Smog Shop steal money from me by charging me over $240 for an in town move which consisted of a 14' truck with a total of 31.3 miles. But the experience there was like walking into the land of homies from Compton! The guy who inspected the truck with me was a thug. He had just had a fight with his girlfriend and started crying as he was walking me out to the truck. I got to hear how wonderful he treats women how his whole family had women in it. Then he asked if I smoked weed saying that sometimes they find it in the back of the trucks. Somehow he started talking about heroin too. Then when I asked him to mark down dents and scratches he said that it was not necessary because he was the one who checks all the trucks back in and he has a good memory! So after some coaxing he finally noted some of the marks I insisted on. Then when it came time to check the fuel I had to ask for the key and he would not stop talking about his girlfriend and crying again!!! And again told me I didn't need to check the fuel because he was the one who checked them out. At this point I was thinking great snoop dog is inspecting this truck I wonder what he will try and ding me on when I bring it back? So I used the truck for 5 hours brought it back REFUELED and dropped everything off in the night drop off box. I would not have caught the overcharge if they would not of tried to charge me "15" days LATER another $94 on top of the already $150 they had charged my card!!! What my bill should of looked like.. Truck: $29.95 Miles: $31.68 Environmental fee: $1.00 TOTAL: $62.36 DJ Sons Smog Shop is claiming that I owe them $163.34. Truck: $125.25 Fuel: $38.09 TOTAL: $163.34 Now even if I didn't return the truck full (WHICH I DID) and the truck were to get 10 miles per gallon (31.3 miles would end up being 3.13 gallons) and they refueled at $5.00 per gallon it would come out to $15.65 which is a huge difference from $38.09 they are claiming I owed! Now how I was charged over $240 for a bill they claim should of totaled $163.34 is beyond me. When I called DJ Son's Smog shop the owner told me I had to take this up with corporate. So when I called corporate they informed me I had to wait 48 hours to speak with the service area manager! I am sorry but when one of your locations steals $181.08 from a customer I would think an immediate call back would be in order. Not only was this experience a nightmare but has become a financial hardship as well. I have learned my lesson UHaul may be cheap but you'll pay the price one way or another when you use choose that service! I would like this to me made right more so than just financially. I would like an apology from corporate as well as the location owner.JOY P.
