I came 15 minutes before opening time of 9AM. The store didn't open until 9:10AM. An improvement would be to open on time. The parking lot grass area was full of litter so cleaning up would be an improvement. Positives are the truck is in good shape and I was able to pick up and return it easily.Xinxing C.

The equipment was filthy. Seats, steering, cup holder, dashboard were all dirty and very filthy. The cargo area was unclean.Peter I.
I reserved the truck for an *AM pickup and was told it would be available at the above location at that time. When I arrived, the place did not open until 9AM, After calling U-Haul for help I discovered that I was supposed to have been given instruction of getting the key for a self-serve box at that location. The people at U-Haul that I called, referred us to UHaul.com but we were still not able to access the box and they finally hung up on me. Finally, the office opened and I got the truck within 10 minutes. I am very disappointed with that location and whoever at U-Haul set me up for the self-serve pickup without letting me know how to do it. In addition, the truck road like a tank, and the suspension - even loaded- allowed me to feel every small bump in the road, The engine was the loudest engine I ever have driven. It was not the kind of service and equipment I was used to getting from the crew at you Gettysburg Road, Mechanicsburg, PA store. They wer alwas a delight to work ith.GEorge E.

Had appointment for 9am. Got contract signed and credit card ran. Then they can't find keys to truck. Took another hour before we got another truck and could leave. The customer service was horrible. When asked what's wrong the employee gave attitude. I don't know why uhual would be associated with this agent.John B.

The website showed a 15 foot truck was available at the New Cumberland location but upon being contacted the day before the requested truck was only available at this location. The gas tank upon pick up was only filled to a quarter tank. I was instructed to return it with a quarter tank as well. This required filling it up twice and guessing how much to use. All trucks rented should be filled upon pick up and returned filled to avoid guessing how much fuel is needed.Kurt Y.

I was there at the location back the next day in time to return the truck. The online return option would not proceed even if I took many pictures, so I had to leave the keys in drop off box and called uHaul customer service about the issue I faced when returning it online. I was still charged for 2 days of rental even when I used the rental truck for one day.Deepak S.
The check in process was not as easy as it was advertised. i made the reservation but had someone else drive and for that reason we needed two backup verifications which we were not prepared for and made the pickup process longer. Should definitely warn people of this part of the process.Robert W.

I rented the van online to begin at 9am with self check in, when i got to the location it was not open until 10am and i was suddenly unable to self check in. I had to wait until the location opened at 10am, despite paying and confirming a 9am start . This set back my move and cost me money. When I got the van, both the cab and the storage area were trash filled. I had to get someone from the shop to clean it. I ordered a pack of moving blankets, they came sealed in the plastic soaking wet and moldy. Would never use again.Charles F.
I signed up for early pickup using my mobile device. The app would never load the express check in page. I saw the lock boxes for keys and trucks parked out front. When the store opened at 9am and after waiting in line I saw all the keys hanging inside the shop so early pickup wasn't possible. Why offer a service which is not available?Christian E.
I was called by U Haul two days before I was to pick up the truck. I was told to go to the McClay street location. I was to pick the truck up at 8 am. The location doesn't open till 9 am. We had to wait for an hour for them to open. I called UHaul after 15 minutes on hold I got to talk to a representative. I was cutoff when they transferred the call. I called back and had another 25 minute hold time. If I wasn't on a tight time line I would have gone with another company. I was given 15 additional miles, I asked for a reduction of the price after a few minutes I was given $10 off my bill. I feel I should have been given $25 offDouglas H.

This feedback is really for U-haul more than either of the sites. The miles quoted on the website were way too low for the move and then I was charged extra on the other end for the extra miles - it was only about 15-20 but the point is, it was too low and felt like bait and switch on the pricing. Also, it wasn't full of gas at pick up and I got charged for that on the drop off in addition to the extra miles because I couldn't exactly get to 11/16 full. How about you just fill it up so it is easy to do that instead of ripping people off. I likely wouldn't' rent from U-Haul again.Jonna B.
The service is terrible. I was given a truck to rent that was just returned, and they didn't take any time to clean it out and they charged me for the use of both equipment items, despite them doing a check on the vehicle before I used it. Also, I was told that I would only be charged for 1 day as long as the vehicle was returned by 10:30pm that same night. I returned the vehicle that same night at 8:54pm and I was still charged for 2 days. Now, I have to wait 2-5 â€œbusiness daysâ€ to get my refund. These people are totally unprofessional and will try to get over on you if you're not paying attention.Brian W.

The only hiccup was a slight language barrier between the person that was checking the cargo van when I returned it to R & M Variety Shop. He was borderline rude and his English was minimal. He then insulted me in Arabic while he was on his cell phone talking. He had no idea that I understood a few of the words he used. He had no sense of urgency. When I told him that I was in a hurry, that I had to go to work he told me to go back inside. He was sitting in the van with the engine running holding a personal conversation. Thankfully the young inside apologized for him and his behavior. She said that he was new to the United States.Myron V.
THE TRUCK WAS NASTY. THE STORE OWNER WAS VERY MEAN AND NASTY. RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. THAT STORE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO REPRESENT U-HAUL AT ALL. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO TO THE STORE TO RENT A U-HAUL EVER. THAT STORE AND THE STORE OWNER IS HORRIBLE. The can was very dirty inside and out and there was a plastic cup and a drinking glass in the back of the van when I got it. I have rented numerous times from Uhaul and this was by far the worst experience I've had.Christopher F.
Bait and switch operation. Did not have truck that I rented. Offered me a larger truck which I agreed to if they did not charge me more money. They agreed and when I checked my print out they tried to charge me more two minutes after our conversation. Never again. I was surprised - and VERY pleased(!) - with how fast the check-in was, how smooth everything went. The young woman who checked us in was terrific - as was the young man who checked us out. I can't think of anything you could do to have made this a better experience for us. THANK YOU!!! My experience with this location was effortless. The young lady who took care of me at pick up and drop off was VERY efficient, informative and friendly. When I picked up the truck she processed everything quickly and I was out the door in a short period of time. When I returned the truck, she checked the truck and processed my closing paperwork quickly and efficiently. I don't think there is anything you can improve on at that location. I drove approximately 14 miles while I was renting a truck. The fuel in the truck was the same amount as when I got it, yet I was charged $60 dollars and was shown a picture of what could have been any truck. If your trucks are using an eigth of a tank of gas in 14 miles then they either need a tune up or replaced. Very poor customer service. Sean VillottSEAN V.

The place looks like it has homeless living inside the U-Haul trucks and just looks unsafe if a lady by herself has to drop off a U-Haul at 9pm you bet your ass she's gonna get mugged. It's an unsafe location overall. And I've been waiting 5 days for the refund of my 33 bucks. Will NEVER recommend this location to anyone!!!!!JOSE S.

A week before, my pick up location was changed to accommodate getting a 26 foot truck. The night before, at 8pm, I got a call saying they did not have any 26 foot trucks and I had to use a 20 foot truck. When I asked if this would be changing my cost they said no. Fortunately my move was within a distance that I could make two trips but this added hours and cost that I was not planning for. If I had been moving farther away I'm not sure what I would've done because I could not have done my move at all in a 20 foot trailer.NATHANIEL P.
