I asked for some guidance on the loading ramp. And I got it. But it turns out, I didn't get "enough", and the thing missing really cost me a lot of time. It turns out that the ramp has two positions when deployed. The "down" position, where you just pull the ramp out of its sliders after releasing the various catches, but ALSO, an "up" position, where the ramp is "even with" the truck deck. I got no training on how to get the ramp from the down to the up position (or even that there was an up position). That made getting some heavy stuff onto the truck quite difficult. It was not until I hired some day laborers (experienced loaders), that they should me how to put the ramp up properly. Both positions are useful, in fact we used both, not just on accident, but also on purpose because of the height of two items was right at the limit. (And the "up" position, with a dolly was too tall, where as the down position with a dolly, slid onto a moving blanket worked OK. Sure would have liked the extra knowledge of "up" position. It cost me 6 hours of doing things the hard way, and extended my rental by a day.

OSVALDO MTruck had a check engine light on startup. Owner said they had no others available. Suggested I leave and call the 1-800 number. Had to drive to another location and get a bigger truck I didn’t need so I wouldn’t miss my window for my movers. Ended up costing me way more money and now I have to dispute the first charges.

FLOYD JYou advertise $20 for a pick up truck - but that is VERY misleading. I was also charged per mile and had to replace the gas. $20 quickly turned into $100 for a 35 mile/3 hour rental. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! Total rip off

MICHAEL PI reserved a 20’ truck and the fact I didn’t get it really screwed up my entire week. The inconvenience snowballed throughout the several extra days I had to keep the truck because it was so much smaller than I needed. I appreciate the $50 credit due to the messed up reservation but the mistake ended up costing me well over $200. I rent from you guys all the time (check my reservations from last week alone!) and this last rental was so much worse than any of my other rentals

It is unprofessional for a big company like U-Haul from which I certainly expect more. The experience was subpar and frustrating, causing my moving schedule to be delayed and affected greatly. My reservation of the elevator at my building was canceled and it costed me the cancellation fee.

After driving all the way to the other location I was informed that I was lied to and sent back.

Jacob GDid not care for the person receiving truck return approach to telling us there would be a charge for tape on moving blankets returned & for not sweeping out the truck. We then removed the tape & swept out the box. She then commented that the cab was not swept out but she wouldn’t charge for it, the dirt & dust was minimal & not worth mentioning. Then she told us there was a missing moving blanket & we would be charged for that. No return area for truck told us to park it on the street. The return process was a hassle!
