I was charged $57 to my credit card for an unknown payment. I never received a phone call, or an email with an invoice for the $57 payment. Nothing, just a surprise charge. And when I woke up in the morning on move day, the front passenger side tire was near completely flat. Had to spend almost an hour getting it pumped up. Very bad experience with uhaul.

6 gallons is excessive for 29.8 miles, and $30 extra is excessive as well, when you give me the truck on empty.

The van had tons of scratches and dents/dings. I have not ever rented a van that had stickers on it marking damage spots. The driver seat had a stain on it. I did online checkout for the first time. The man in the office was rude and not helpful at all when I asked if this was the place. He then closed his place until 11am. I could not find the keys and finally found them in the passenger side visor. Upon drop off my experience was not any better. The man in the office was more rude than the first. I asked if where I parked was OK, he grunted and said he would take care of it, I asked to take pictures because I was checking out and he became very irritated and hot out of the van and said do what ever, left the van running and walked away. I continued to check out and he hame back and said he already sent me an email that he closed me out. And continued to be rude and then asked me what my problem was. I was extremely uncomfortable and will not ever go to a place that isn't an actual facility. I would not ever recommend this facility.

My wife called on the day of the pick up to request a dolly and a furniture cart be added to the rental. The gentleman who responded assured her that they will be included in the truck as we were picking up after business hours. When we arrived to pick up the truck, the equipment was not there. We called the local number and a man responded that he was far from that location and could not do anything for us. So, we ended up having to hire two workers to help us load at 8:00 pm on Friday which was difficult and costly. I paid 100 dollars to compensate for this mistake. When I spoke about this with the return location, they also said that there was nothing they could do for us and that we had to call the pick up location. In addition, when my wife called the local pick up office in Costa Mesa and asked him about how the after hour pick up process works, he had no idea. We expected a more professional customer support from such a large and reputable company as U-Haul, I will need a truck at the end of the month, but will not come back to you.

Awful experience, almost as bad as it gets. Reserved a truck on-line, checked in after hours on iPhone, the confirmation email and the truck were at two different places and finally received an on-line message that U-Haul can not rent me a truck with any explanation. The customer service person on the phone tried hard but it being at 8 pm it did not get anywhere and got me stranded 60 miles away from home overnight. To make the matter worst when tried to rent another truck Haul had me on the "don't rent list" from a settled dispute many years ago, why was I able to make a reservation and end up at Haul's door before I was notified?. After my call to Haul, the issue was cleared and I was able to rent a truck. A1 equipment rental did an efficient job processing the order but did not care or have any sympathy for a person who was done wrong and stranded by Uhaul's multiple errors.

I drove the car a total of 11 miles and was charged $6.99 for gas. I understand that is in the contract, but it seemed a bit excessive. I calculated out the mileage and time before renting the truck and was aware I would only be driving 11 miles and have the truck for an hour. It seems there could be a company exception made for customers driving this short of timing and limited mileage.
