This location was insane - like entering a portal to some mechanic's junkyard - there was no one on-site to rent us a vehicle and the building didn't even have a handle on the front door. We had to wait 45 minutes while they figured out what van was available for us, walking along the street to find the correct one and then have them help us wedge the van out of being parked inches away from other cars on the street. This was truly an insane experience, and probably the most unorganized business I've ever been to. Very surprising for an "official" U-haul rental place. That being said, the van was clean and worked fine, and everyone that helped us was nice, but everyone was surprised we were there for a rental and were very, very disorganized. Unforgettable location due to the insane view after sticking your hand in a hole in the door to open into the "rental building". But also, that's New York, so...

The location appears to be an abandoned warehouse. No one was there to help at the time of my pick up. When someone did arrive, she informed those of us waiting that she didn't have enough vehicles for everyone. I happened to have arrived first and ended up getting a van, but there was an electrical issue that caused the "Right Rear Door Open" alarm to go off and the lights to flicker on and off continuously for the entire length of my rental. There was also sand all over the back of the van. It was also nearly impossible to find a place to park the van at the end of my rental. I will never be using a U-Haul in New York City again.
Kurtis WYou need to have reserved parking for customers to return the vehicles.
Maxime sWhile I was treated very well and respectfully by the resprsesntative that assisted us, it was evident that something was wrong. Firstly, were checked in on the curb in the hot sun, the manager or owner was tooooo curt. In addition, the site seemed to be under construction but there was no way to know that (no signage) - just a man using a cell phone (guessing a manager) that redirected or yelled at anyone who approached. Also, it was difficult to reach them on the phone. Finally, the truck I was given was FILTHY. It seemed to have been previously used for construction. I could not use it and was disoriented enough by the heat that I thought maybe I could just sweep it out. When I remembered that construction debris could have mold, asbestos, or lead in it I had already driven off. I later returned the truck unused. I would only recommend this location if it was the most convenient. Why?: (1) I hope my experience was a one-off, and (2) the lady (Amanda I think her name is) who was checking customers in and out was pleasant to work with - although we were standing in the NYC heat, humidity, and sunglare. She was also knowledegable, efficient, and relatively fast at the process.
Margot CThe location is entirely un-manned, consisting of a lock box and drop box. The vehicles are sporadically parked on a 4 lane thru-way and the surrounding blocks, and the app does not offer any location pins or images, making vehicles hard to find. I spent 15 minutes searching unsuccessfully for the Van I reserved, and had to call customer service to have my reservation changed to a vehicle that I could find. Renting from this location is a gamble and there's a high chance your time will be wasted, use with caution.
Stephen MVery good service
Williams RThe pickup location always says 'pickup in the parking lot,' but there is no lot at this location. Providing the photo of where the previous renter parked would be helpful. A light is also needed over the lockbox for picking up and dropping off keys. It is hard to enter the lock code without light.
SHANTELLE TMarinda at the location is super helpful. I really appreciate her kindly help.
Ming LTransaction was easy and though by phone, communication was simple and efficient

Dawn FPriscilla makes it so easy, I'm not sure any improvements can be made.
Louis AThe vehicle I had reserved (a van) was not available, so I was offered a truck instead. That made moving much more challenging since it’s harder to park on city streets. Because of the vehicle replacement and the terrible layout of this site with trucks parked on both sides of a highway, it set back my trip by about 30 minutes. When I was returning the truck, it broke down and I had to wait for a service truck to replace the battery, which wasted even more time.
