All the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I believe Nick assisted me—there were a few glitches in the system, but he quickly contacted U-Haul, resolved the issues, and got the truck released. Great service!

RAE TStaff at this location are excellent. They confirmed my reservation the day before, so we were confident a rental would be physically there when we came to pick it up the next morning. The van was well-maintained. However, it appeared to have not been cleaned from the user before. The gasoline charge for this rental was a big problem. We rented a van with a nine foot cargo area area and drove it 15 miles. It cost $13.87 to fill it before bringing it back. That is not right. I'd like $7 back, please

JAMES SReservation was made over 2 weeks in advance. Since I needed the moving truck early in the morning, I selected the Mobile Pick-Up option. I even went to the location 2 days before my reservation to confirm details and ask how the Mobile Pick-Up works. After being talked down to by the employee there, as if I were unintelligent for asking about the details, they said everything was set for my reservation and pick-up. Fast forward to the day and time of my mobile pick-up. They FORGOT/neglected to put the keys to my reserved vehicle the evening before into the lock box for me to access via the U-Haul app. I was instructed, via the app, to call a 1-800 number for assistance. After a 7 minute wait on hold, I was told they were sorry and I would have a $50 refund coming. However, this did nothing to help keep me on schedule and the 4 other people I had waiting to assist with the move. I needed to wait until the business opened an hour later. They also apologized, but too little too late.

I was unable to complete the pick up process via the app. The store had to take over the reservation. The cargo van had a tire pressure warning light. I found the height of the van surprising as it felt more like driving a truck.

Lynn RThe website and all of the signage at the store says that you can rent and drop off 24/7. I reserved a van for 7 AM before the store opens and was unable to pick it up - there was no key, no code to unlock the key - nothing. I had to call U-Haul customer service and they pushed my reservation off an hour until the store opened at 8AM. The sales person in the store who took my information and gave me the key seemed completely disinterested that I could not pick up when I was supposed to and claimed that I did something wrong on my end. Likewise, I had to drop off when the store was closed and that also was a problem. I confirmed with the same salesperson that I would be able to drop off after the store closed. When I logged into the app and selected "Return my truck" there was no way to upload the necessary photos to complete the drop off. I had to call U-Haul, email the photos of the odometer and inside of the truck to them so that they could add them to my account and process the drop off. So, it is unlikely that I would rent from that location again. However, the U-Haul customer service people were VERY helpful and considerate. So, I would rent with U-Haul again, but not from that location.

jay gThe truck was not full of gas and they told me that. Having it on 1/4 tank is a bit odd as if it was on full, I'd know exactly how much gas I used and could just fill it up again.. The inside was a bit dirty. Not sure what happened to the dash and windshield where someone had set something crusty and it also had some sort of substance on the inside of the windshield that was right in my field of view. I would have had to gotten a flat razor to scape it off the inside of the window to clean it off. As it was a quick rental, I didn't bother. I returned it in the same shape I picked it up. Was weird too that UHall had to call me afterwards to see if I took it back and at what time. I dropped it off almost at the exact time I picked it up, so not sure if there was a miss there. No clue. Was an easy rental. Just wish the crud on the windshield wasn't there.

Ray TThe equipment was covered in snow and ice despite the snowstorm being two days prior. I was first hit with the smell of dog hair. It was all over the cab of the truck. The truck was filthy. There were potato chip crumbs and wetness in the cup holders, debris all over the floor and that powerful stench of dog hair. Also, the right, front tire was low on air. It was a shameful and shocking piece of equipment. The team should have done more to clean and service the vehicle, and also remove the snow and ice from it.
Thomas OI know it is difficult to have the time to clean vehicles between rentals but this was a bit dirty. Thankfully the windshield was clean. I hate to complain but want you to know.

The inside was dirty. Did not notice until after i was driving. I admit to approving the questions but I was a bit nervous as well. I would like my refund for the dolly. Thank you!

Matthew TOriginally I had rented from the Colonie location. I was about an hour late, picking up my vehicle, and they had rented it to somebody else. They put me in quite a bind, considering I was supposed to leave for vacation the next day, and I was towing a camper. I was basically told on the phone at the Colonie store there was nothing that she could do. Sometimes even if your 15 min late and it’s a busy day they will cancel your rental. I receive no phone call or email prior to the cancellation. Luckily the western Ave store had a pickup truck. I know good help is hard to find but the Colonie store left me out to dry.

I know this is not anyone’s fault in particular, but maybe do a disinfecting in between customers and not just a sweep. Other than that, our experience was great! Just thought you all should know.
