The only positive about this nightmare experience was the team at Roosters that stayed after hours to help me after almost 5 hours of trying to pick up the truck which involved waiting on hold for an hour to discover a non functioning app that no one told me about, only being able to check in on Chrome (again had NO IDEA) and then not being able to use the international drivers license I reserved the truck with. This Nightmare was made worse by the two unexpected guard dogs that surrounded the car making picking up the truck keys IMPOSSIBLE and DANGEROUS. I was told to call animal control. And then to tell the dogs to shut up and they would leave me alone. UNACCEPTABLEAlicia Y.

The remote check out and check in process on my mobile device was terrible. The app was not responsive and it was very difficult to submit required photos, many times after trying to submit one, the app closed and required me to start over many times. The whole check in process took over an our due to complications with the app.Blake H.

This location is fine. But I had a major problem with the location where I booked the rental : Millerton Northeast Muffler on Route 22. They had the wrong combination for the lockbox, and no one in the office or available by phone, leaving me stranded. U-haul needs to have a fail safe backup plan and get it right. I rebooked at Roosters and everything went fine.Kieran F.

The entire process. The promise of what van you chose and contracted to be the same no larger. The larger size caused problems at flea market and cost a lot more to be allowed into my job to park to be able to sell. The larger size was herd to stabilize for my product. The location pick up people where not polite and lack knowledge of being representativeTara W.

I was given a truck that had less than a quarter tank, a driver side mirror that was loose and continued to move around while driving, making it useless, and the cabin was not cleaned. In fact, i rested my mask where the cup holder was. When i put my mask back on, it smelled like pot! Upon looking, i noticed something that looked like a pen but wreaked like pot ( like a container that was the size of a pen). The truck operated well and I had no mechanical issues, other than the mirror). My major issue was when I returned it. I was told that I needed to bring it back before 8 AM. I brought it back at around 7:35 and parked it in the back. I then drove my car around to the store front to wait for someone to arrive and to have them the keys and to see if there was anything I needed to do ( i.e. paperwork). A man pulled in around 7:50 and continued to the back. He came around to the front, had a very annoyed look on his face, and in fact blatantly shook his head ( to make it clear he was annoyed that I was there before opening). I had opened my car, put my mask on, and greeted him and started to explain why I was there. He cut me off and started reciting the hours posted on u-haul and was being very obnoxious. Reading into it now, He assumes i was there â€œ too earlyâ€ to try to rent a truck and was going to make sure I was aware that : 1. He was irritated and 2. That i would have to wait. After explaining that i was simply trying to return the truck and was told i needed to before 8 as someone else had booked it at 8, you could see the light bulb go on as he realized he was going off on an unneeded tangent. Still, no apology just stating that I could have dropped the keys in the box. I still don't know how it settled up ( estimated mileage vs actual etc) but came away with a very bad impression. He put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day.JOHN A.

The truck seemed to be past it's time. The vehicle I had was older with damages and was not clean like other uhaul vehicles I've driven. It also didn't handle as well. I only used for a very short trip, but it is not for long distance driving.KIMBERLY A M.
Change the oil so the oil warning does not come on. Clean out the back of the van with a broom. Loved the customer service and appreciated the extra effort around Covid 19 precautions.Alice C.

The individual dealer was great, but everything else about my Uhaul experience was terrible. The website is a mess, I can't log back in, you couldn't ready my location at the dealer, employees didn't inform me of key parts of the contract in advance. I requested a letter of apology and explanation. When will I receive it?Dave H.

The virtual checkin was terrible. There was no information when selecting this option that a requirement was accurate location services. So when I checked in, it got stuck on awaiting approval. I waited for 10 minutes and nothing happened, I believe because my location services are innacurate. Then I went into the store and spoke with the very nice and helpful owner/manager of the location, and he tried to override the virtual checkin but was only able to do that after calling Uhaul. Even then, it still didn't work right away. After 45 minutes, I was finally able to leave with the truck. This is unacceptable. The location was wonderful and the employees extremely helpful. It was the Uhaul technology system that was terrible. The only reason I will use Uhaul again is because I live in a rural location and I have no other choices. Please improve your system.Sarah B.

This location is new to U Haul and it's procedures. With time and experience, it will succeed. The email I received had a different return date that this rep. had and he said I was one day late and wanted to charge me, but he saw my text from the company. When I left, he said everything was in order, but would complete paperwork later. I was charged for the extra miles. In one month I should receive from you a bill for EZ pass and nobody knew this procedure except for the third customer service person. This is my third rental in 3 weeks and it was very stressful and I even gave more fuel than required.Edward S.
