They did not know how to change the bill to not charge us for the extra gas that was kept in the truck when we picked it up (the truck had half a tank and not three quarters) we had to call the kingston office to help them adjust the bill. It took us over 30 min to drop off the truck. We did not get a print off of the bill so we do not know if we were over charged. Very frustrating!Christina B.

Booked pickup in person in Brockville ON, pickup location was changed and quote wasn't the same. Added 1hr1/2 of driving. Last person used the vehicle for wood. Back and cab were still full of wood chips and sawdust. Had to clean it out. Otherwise the staff was helpful.JACK L.

Site had no idea I was dropping off at the location even though my agreement was clear and accurate. Not thrilled that I was charged for additional gas. I f I had park on a slant like at pick up the level of gas would have looking higher...JOHN O.

The truck we received had an empty tank and we were required to fill up before leaving. Would be better in the future if the trucks would have some gas, especially considering the location is a gas station.Jason G.

Your review system is flawed. You're asking for feedback on just the locations and not the full service. I would like to give 1 star but I don't want that to reflect the pick up location. My experience was awful but I put zero of that blame on the pick up location, it is fully with uHaul. In fact, it made the experience worse that you're passing the issues on to these poor staff members that have nothing to do with your errors but have to deal with the fallback from customers and trying to clean up your mistakes. TL,DR; You screwed me over with downgrading my truck twice and added extra costs and time to my week with zero regard. 3 weeks before the move - I reserve a 20' truck, one-way rental. I get a reservation email saying my truck is reserved and I will get a call to confirm details the day before the rental. Everything was smooth and I was ready to go! I was feeling a little wary though because I used to work at an independent rental company and WOW the number of times people would come in a panic the day of their move saying that uHaul bailed on them. But I didn't have much choice so I hoped that wouldn't be the case for me! Day before the move - I get a call saying that since it was a one-way move it wasn't guaranteed and there are going to be some changes. At NO point in my reservation email does it ever suggest that. So instead of being able to pick up my 20' truck in town at 8:00am, I'm told I will be getting a 15' truck and trailer at 9:00am and, oh, I have to drive 45 minutes to pick it up. But don't worry they'll credit me some extra KM for the trouble. 1. You've just added 3 hours to my day. 2. The move in place is in a tight spot that can't navigate a trailer. 3. What about the extra gas to drive to the location and then drive back with my car and rental vehicle? Since it was 'not guaranteed' I am told there would be no further credits or help. But what can I do? Nothing, so I accept the terms. Day of the move - I show up at my scheduled time and I am told that I have been downgraded again, now I have a 10' foot truck and trailer. I tell them this isn't good enough, that I reserved a 20' and then was confirmed for a 15' just the day before. So they're on the phone with uHaul trying to sort this out. Another customer comes in, she had been downgraded from an even larger truck to my 15'. She was moving a 3-bedroom house across provinces, it's not like she can do extra trips. She also had to drive an hour out of her way to get to this location. It was taking so long to sort everything out that she had to leave for an appointment and come back later in the day, adding further hours to her day. Anyway, after almost 2 HOURS at the location, I leave with my 10' truck and trailer. After the drive home I am 4 hours late even getting started loading the truck. I couldn't fit everything in the truck and had to rent a cargo van to return to get the rest a couple days later, the distance between my old and new home was 1.5 hours. This added many hours, $160 rental fee, and $60 gas to my move. Even with that there were a couple of pieces of furniture that I couldn't fit and had to leave behind, so thank you for that. The woman I was referencing above said she was going to be forced to leave some of her furniture as well. Overall, terrible failure by your company. I understand there is a truck shortage from Covid, I understand why you're using the trailers. But oh my god, just be transparent with your customers. It would have been SO much better if this wasn't last minute shambles and rearranging. Terribly disorganized, no regard for the customer experience, wasted my time, money and energy. I'm pissed I'm even wasting more time writing this review but I can't not voice it. I am a real estate agent, I will be steering ALL of my clients away from uHaul.Laura P.

I will never deal with Uhaul again and yous would be very lucky if you don't end up in a lawsuit. I reserved the equipment I needed over a month in advance to ensure I would have what I needed. A day prior to pick up I received phone call stating that you could only supply me with a 20' truck. I had to move a household from east Ontario to northern Saskatchewan. It's not I could go back for another load so many of my belongings had to be given away or disposed of, furniture, personal items, etc. Items I will never be able to replace. I'm very very disappointed. I HATE uhaul.Diane G.

The trailer was not there when I had booked it. I had to come back later in the evening to get a trailer that had just come in, but it was not the one that was specified by my order. I was very disappointed with the U-haul experience and it will be a long time before I consider renting from U-haul again.Fred G.

It wasn't the people at rubs corner garage they were very nice and polite. They encountered an issue with the price that came up on the computer compared to the price I was told on the phone . I had to call customer service because I encountered an issue with uhauls online system. So the people at rubs garage called uhaul and encountered a very rude person who I also spoke to on the phone and was very rude to me as well. Problem was supposed to be fixed . I get the truck home rental was supposed to be for 3days and an hour or so after I get home I get an email saying I need to have the truck at the drop off location the next day...so I call customer service and wait on hold for 30-35mins only to be told to call another number and wait or just return the truck . So I call scheduling to be put on hold for anthor 30mins just to have them be very rude to me again. I used the truck returned it early/on time clean with more gas then it had in it when I picked it up . If I ever need a truck again I will go out of my way to use a different company. Horrible customer service experience!! I will be telling my friends and family not to use Uhaul!!Chris G.

Rubis was great. Excellent service. I found the price however to be ridiculously high. We used the truck for 6 hours and drove a total of 150 miles. The cost to rent your Uhaul van was $360.00 plus gas. With that sort of pricing I will never ever use Uhaul again. Cheaper to pay a friend with a truck.... who would ever pay that a second time?????Heather B.
The poor girl working in the store was having problems closing the account as it was trying to refund us our entire bill instead of just the deposit. The gentleman she called initially at Uhaul tried to help and we thought all was good until she tried to refund and it was still trying to give us the full rental back again. She yhen called her boss who wanted us to just leave the trailer with him and he would close the account the next day when he was at the store which would mean it was showing as still in our possession and arriving back a day late. When I said we wouldn't agree to this we were told we would then need to return it at a different location. I was absolutely awestruck to hear this . Thankfully the young girl then called the Uhaul gentleman back and together they were able to close the account and give us our $60 deposit back. We have taken pictures of the returned trailer at the return location so you have them if you need them. I would seriously consider removing this location from your family as they are not representing you well at all!!!!!PAMELA T.

The windshield antifreeze was frozen. It thawed after stopping and letting the engine a while. There was a sticker over the speedometer at the critical speedometer limit indicators....50-60 mph. The kph markers were completely obscured. Otherwise the van was good to go.Richard G.

I asked the person about gas mileage and I was told it would take approximately 3/4 of a tank of gas for my trip. I put that much gas into the tank and it did not nearly take that much and I was not refunded.Judy L.

Nothing Everything was great Staff very friendly I booked this by phone calling the UHaul number- the booking agent was very rude. I tried to tell her I couldn't hear her as she seemed very far away from her microphone and she raised her voice and told me I was interrupting her and I should wait till she's done. So I waited till she finished then told her I couldn't hear her and she had to repeat everything. I was not happy with her bossy rude attitude and only stayed on the line because I had to book this truck. All other encounters with staff at the locations was superb.lena P.
Van was filthy when we picked it up; Dog hair all over it, windscreen was so dirty hard to see out if it; We took it anyway because we had already planned out our move etc. THEN: the owner had the nerve to try to tell us that WE were the one who left if dirty and had to basically convince him it was the people before! TERRIBLE SERVICE, would NEVER use that location again. No one apoligized for any of the mix up, and let me tell you the van was absolutely filthy, came all the way from BC the day before â€¦ TERIBLE.Paul H.
Our experience was HORRIBLE! We got there and the young lady at the cash register sighed when we said we were there to pick up our trailer...we get outside and the hitch was ceased we couldn't tighten it on our ball...had to get the owner to finally come down from his apartment above the store which took forever and he got a jack and jacked it up off my car then used penetrating oil to finally get the knob loose with a hammer...paid and realized we were charged double as we only needed it for 1 day so when we returned it owner wouldn't speak to us and I demanded a phone call back with a refund....horrible service and never will do business with them again!STEVEN J.

Hi Uhaul. I booked a 4x8 covered trailer. it wasn't there when i arrived. had been booked out for a week. The agent provided me with an open trailer which i used to move some items, but couldn't move my valuables... NOW, I have to rent again, with an enclosed unit. The UHaul system needs an update. Convenient location but they messed up our order. We had requested a 20 foot truck for Saturday and when I went to check Friday afternoon it hadn't been reserved. There was a 20 foot truck available at 6:00 pm friday until 9:00 am Saturday that was not convenient. Fortunately they had a 10 foot truck available, which we took, but we had to pay double the mileage because we needed to make two trips instead of one. Be certain to check and re-check your reservation.Debbie S.

It took the lady a long time to process the rental, seemed to be technical issues. Otherwise it was a good experience. But truck was between 1/4 tank and half tank of fuel at pick up, I put almost half tank at delivery, just below half. @56.00$ Why was I charged more?Amy P.

Update your Computer System, it is not user friendly and takes too long to input information. It makes renting a trailer from a simple task to a very complex and unnecessarily time consuming. Too many perimeters to input.ROBERT M.

I called on Friday to confirm pick up of 15' truck. "YES, it will be available at 2PM Saturday". I even went in to confirm on my drive home, "YES, it will be available." It wasn't available. This was the worse experience using uhaul. We booked 3 weeks in advance. Stoped 4 times to check to see if our truck would be there and ready for our move. We got told the truck would be there no problem. On oct 29th we went to pick up we were not on file and truck was on a fix it order. The cashier called owner of store location. He proceed to allow the truck to leave the location with no documentation filled out charged us $167.00 we drove to 68 drummond st perth loaded and drove straight to elgin stopping for gas $40.00. Unloaded truck as unloading we were contacted 3 times asking when the truck would be back. completely unacceptable our stuff was not unloaded yet so i told the women one hr. She called 2 times after that i explained that we were hurrying. We rushed to finish. And returned the truck approx 8PM rental time was 11AM. The u haul mechanic was at the store apon drop off. To pick up a truck that need maintenance. We had to stay for an hr to do paper work to put me in the system. I am completely upset and angry as we made many trips to ensure the truck would be available to us. We certainly didn't get 24 hrs and definitely not a smooth experience. Improvements at this point as a customer i would not recommend u haul. It was the worst moving experience. And the communication definitely needs to improve. The store owner is to blame for this and i would never recommend this store location for for any of his offering buisness at that location oh i received a refund in cash. For 41.00 i guess that was for all the trouble caused. I shouldnt have been charged for any of it concedering the trouble i went through at an already stressful time.BONNIEJEAN J.

Fender was damaged, Trailer lights were not working. Mechanic came to fix 2+ hours after the call. Your dispatch couldn't figure out our home address, so we had to wait at the dealer until he arrived. Took him less than 10 minutes to replace the light and fix the wiring. There is no reason that couldn't have been maintained previously. The woman at the dealer did everything she could to help us out. The person she was dealing with on the phone from U-Haul did everything she could. My only issue was the lack of maintenance.andrea B.

I had reserved a truck at a location in Ottawa. When I arrived in the morning to pick up my truck, I was advised that the time had been moved to the afternoon & the location was at a different spot in Ottawa. They advised that someone should have called me, but no one did. I had a specific time frame at my apartment to use the elevators and had hired movers to help and they were arriving at that time. The afternoon was not going to be an option. At that point I called the main number for U-Haul as the original U-Haul location advised he couldn't do anything. The customer service rep that helped me was very professional and helpful. They were able to find this location, which was over an hour drive away, but it was still an option. I had no issues at this location, but was an hour over my elevator time and had to deal with the building manager and the next people scheduled to use the elevator. Overall it was not a good experience.John S.
