BRUCE CThere was a $40 charge for insurance - we were never told about this charge and our vehicle insurance policy covers this. When we brought the trailer back and asked about this charge and why we were not told about it, the owner said it was up to us to ask!!!! He said to contact U-Haul and would probably get it refunded.

don fHave store owner more organized and prepared to do business. Owners wife handled the transaction as he was unavailable. She did transaction while serving other customers and running gas pumps. Did not provide paperwork. Later my bank records showed a fee of $497. to rent a 4x8 for 5 days from Ont to NB one way. Called Rub’s rental who advised the fee included a security deposit, which would be reimbursed once trailer was returned. It was not reimbursed.
GLEN KHave the vehicle parked somewhere where it is not in a swamp. It was difficult to get into due to all the water.
marianne rThis became an alternate pickup location, almost an hour further away, as the trailer I had reserved months before was not available at the initial location. This is not acceptable.

joseph pMore info upfront on how the online pickup works prior to pickup would be nice... We arrived to pick up our truck and started the pickup process on our phone... Then we found out we needed to wait for uhaul to call two contacts to confirm the rental.... We sat for 20mins in a parking lot waiting for the calls to come.... I ended up going into the store to see what I might need to sign... The gentleman then just bypassed the confirmation calls.... That was frustrating because we had a busy stressful few days coming....
Chad RThe trailer I booked was not there. Had to use a smaller one. It took 1 hour to get the trailer at pick up. This was not the fault of the place I picked it up at. This was U Haul fault. Not a very happy camper

Marc BBasic U-Haul experience. Why would a company that has the nerve to charge over $1 per mile ask me for my opinion for free ? Please provide the mailing address for your accounts payable as I have an invoice ready to send that covers my time.
Darryl LI arrived at the location at 10am for a 10am rental booking. The place was so poorly managed that they didn't have internet. And after many frustrating calls, they finally managed to manually get it set up. I ended leaving the place at 11:15, a full one and a quarter hours late. I had an appointment to pick up an antique pump organ, and was subsequently late. I was not compensated for the move due to me being late. And on top of that, I was charged damage insurance, even though I had originally denied it. But one of the agents on the phone rebooked the trailer for me and added it on. I feel that I should be compensated for my losses. Perhaps a free rental in the future?

Marilyn WOne of the safety chains had a hook that had been deformed, and had to be forced onto the receiver's link. The equipment selection was good and the promised unit was ready at the committed time.

DEBBIE TThe equipment is fine and the staff are friendly enough, but it took FORTY FIVE MINUTES to get the trailer I had already reserved. I don't trust their computer equipment and I would prefer to pay by credit card in a machine rather than having it typed into a browser on a random computer. Upgrade the computer, already. At this rate, it would have been faster to rent from a location in the next town over. This experience provided great incentive for me to start looking for a trailer I could purchase, rather than continue renting.

Kyle MI booked a trailer in Kingston ON and 2 days before my pickup time, I was told that I had to travel an hour’s north of Kingston to collect the trailer. When I got there the Uhaul check out system was not working.

Sean FThey did not know how to change the bill to not charge us for the extra gas that was kept in the truck when we picked it up (the truck had half a tank and not three quarters) we had to call the kingston office to help them adjust the bill. It took us over 30 min to drop off the truck. We did not get a print off of the bill so we do not know if we were over charged. Very frustrating!

Nancy SBooked pickup in person in Brockville ON, pickup location was changed and quote wasn’t the same. Added 1hr1/2 of driving. Last person used the vehicle for wood. Back and cab were still full of wood chips and sawdust. Had to clean it out. Otherwise the staff was helpful.
JACK LSite had no idea I was dropping off at the location even though my agreement was clear and accurate. Not thrilled that I was charged for additional gas. I f I had park on a slant like at pick up the level of gas would have looking higher...
