There was a $40 charge for insurance - we were never told about this charge and our vehicle insurance policy covers this. When we brought the trailer back and asked about this charge and why we were not told about it, the owner said it was up to us to ask!!!! He said to contact U-Haul and would probably get it refunded.

Have store owner more organized and prepared to do business. Owners wife handled the transaction as he was unavailable. She did transaction while serving other customers and running gas pumps. Did not provide paperwork. Later my bank records showed a fee of $497. to rent a 4x8 for 5 days from Ont to NB one way. Called Rub’s rental who advised the fee included a security deposit, which would be reimbursed once trailer was returned. It was not reimbursed.

More info upfront on how the online pickup works prior to pickup would be nice... We arrived to pick up our truck and started the pickup process on our phone... Then we found out we needed to wait for uhaul to call two contacts to confirm the rental.... We sat for 20mins in a parking lot waiting for the calls to come.... I ended up going into the store to see what I might need to sign... The gentleman then just bypassed the confirmation calls.... That was frustrating because we had a busy stressful few days coming....

The trailer I booked was not there. Had to use a smaller one. It took 1 hour to get the trailer at pick up. This was not the fault of the place I picked it up at. This was U Haul fault. Not a very happy camper

Basic U-Haul experience. Why would a company that has the nerve to charge over $1 per mile ask me for my opinion for free ? Please provide the mailing address for your accounts payable as I have an invoice ready to send that covers my time.

I arrived at the location at 10am for a 10am rental booking. The place was so poorly managed that they didn't have internet. And after many frustrating calls, they finally managed to manually get it set up. I ended leaving the place at 11:15, a full one and a quarter hours late. I had an appointment to pick up an antique pump organ, and was subsequently late. I was not compensated for the move due to me being late. And on top of that, I was charged damage insurance, even though I had originally denied it. But one of the agents on the phone rebooked the trailer for me and added it on. I feel that I should be compensated for my losses. Perhaps a free rental in the future?

The equipment is fine and the staff are friendly enough, but it took FORTY FIVE MINUTES to get the trailer I had already reserved. I don't trust their computer equipment and I would prefer to pay by credit card in a machine rather than having it typed into a browser on a random computer. Upgrade the computer, already. At this rate, it would have been faster to rent from a location in the next town over. This experience provided great incentive for me to start looking for a trailer I could purchase, rather than continue renting.

They did not know how to change the bill to not charge us for the extra gas that was kept in the truck when we picked it up (the truck had half a tank and not three quarters) we had to call the kingston office to help them adjust the bill. It took us over 30 min to drop off the truck. We did not get a print off of the bill so we do not know if we were over charged. Very frustrating!

Booked pickup in person in Brockville ON, pickup location was changed and quote wasn’t the same. Added 1hr1/2 of driving. Last person used the vehicle for wood. Back and cab were still full of wood chips and sawdust. Had to clean it out. Otherwise the staff was helpful.

Your review system is flawed. You're asking for feedback on just the locations and not the full service. I would like to give 1 star but I don’t want that to reflect the pick up location. My experience was awful but I put zero of that blame on the pick up location, it is fully with uHaul. In fact, it made the experience worse that you're passing the issues on to these poor staff members that have nothing to do with your errors but have to deal with the fallback from customers and trying to clean up your mistakes. TL,DR; You screwed me over with downgrading my truck twice and added extra costs and time to my week with zero regard. 3 weeks before the move - I reserve a 20' truck, one-way rental. I get a reservation email saying my truck is reserved and I will get a call to confirm details the day before the rental. Everything was smooth and I was ready to go! I was feeling a little wary though because I used to work at an independent rental company and WOW the number of times people would come in a panic the day of their move saying that uHaul bailed on them. But I didn't have much choice so I hoped that wouldn't be the case for me! Day before the move - I get a call saying that since it was a one-way move it wasn't guaranteed and there are going to be some changes. At NO point in my reservation email does it ever suggest that. So instead of being able to pick up my 20' truck in town at 8:00am, I'm told I will be getting a 15' truck and trailer at 9:00am and, oh, I have to drive 45 minutes to pick it up. But don't worry they'll credit me some extra KM for the trouble. 1. You've just added 3 hours to my day. 2. The move in place is in a tight spot that can't navigate a trailer. 3. What about the extra gas to drive to the location and then drive back with my car and rental vehicle? Since it was 'not guaranteed' I am told there would be no further credits or help. But what can I do? Nothing, so I accept the terms. Day of the move - I show up at my scheduled time and I am told that I have been downgraded again, now I have a 10’ foot truck and trailer. I tell them this isn’t good enough, that I reserved a 20’ and then was confirmed for a 15’ just the day before. So they’re on the phone with uHaul trying to sort this out. Another customer comes in, she had been downgraded from an even larger truck to my 15’. She was moving a 3-bedroom house across provinces, it’s not like she can do extra trips. She also had to drive an hour out of her way to get to this location. It was taking so long to sort everything out that she had to leave for an appointment and come back later in the day, adding further hours to her day. Anyway, after almost 2 HOURS at the location, I leave with my 10’ truck and trailer. After the drive home I am 4 hours late even getting started loading the truck. I couldn’t fit everything in the truck and had to rent a cargo van to return to get the rest a couple days later, the distance between my old and new home was 1.5 hours. This added many hours, $160 rental fee, and $60 gas to my move. Even with that there were a couple of pieces of furniture that I couldn’t fit and had to leave behind, so thank you for that. The woman I was referencing above said she was going to be forced to leave some of her furniture as well. Overall, terrible failure by your company. I understand there is a truck shortage from Covid, I understand why you’re using the trailers. But oh my god, just be transparent with your customers. It would have been SO much better if this wasn’t last minute shambles and rearranging. Terribly disorganized, no regard for the customer experience, wasted my time, money and energy. I’m pissed I’m even wasting more time writing this review but I can’t not voice it. I am a real estate agent, I will be steering ALL of my clients away from uHaul.

I will never deal with Uhaul again and yous would be very lucky if you don't end up in a lawsuit. I reserved the equipment I needed over a month in advance to ensure I would have what I needed. A day prior to pick up I received phone call stating that you could only supply me with a 20' truck. I had to move a household from east Ontario to northern Saskatchewan. It's not I could go back for another load so many of my belongings had to be given away or disposed of, furniture, personal items, etc. Items I will never be able to replace. I'm very very disappointed. I HATE uhaul.

The trailer was not there when I had booked it. I had to come back later in the evening to get a trailer that had just come in, but it was not the one that was specified by my order. I was very disappointed with the U-haul experience and it will be a long time before I consider renting from U-haul again.

It wasn't the people at rubs corner garage they were very nice and polite. They encountered an issue with the price that came up on the computer compared to the price I was told on the phone . I had to call customer service because I encountered an issue with uhauls online system. So the people at rubs garage called uhaul and encountered a very rude person who I also spoke to on the phone and was very rude to me as well. Problem was supposed to be fixed . I get the truck home rental was supposed to be for 3days and an hour or so after I get home I get an email saying I need to have the truck at the drop off location the next day...so I call customer service and wait on hold for 30-35mins only to be told to call another number and wait or just return the truck . So I call scheduling to be put on hold for anthor 30mins just to have them be very rude to me again. I used the truck returned it early/on time clean with more gas then it had in it when I picked it up . If I ever need a truck again I will go out of my way to use a different company. Horrible customer service experience!! I will be telling my friends and family not to use Uhaul!!

A busy Gas Station as well, with one person handling everything, the attendant was stretched . I contacted uhaul to make sure the return was processed. I was To return it to a location in Perth, however Portland was closer.

Have another person available to deal with other clients pumping gas. Trying to do too many things at the same time (dealing with personal matters over the phone while attempting to service U-Haul clients)

Rubis was great. Excellent service. I found the price however to be ridiculously high. We used the truck for 6 hours and drove a total of 150 miles. The cost to rent your Uhaul van was $360.00 plus gas. With that sort of pricing I will never ever use Uhaul again. Cheaper to pay a friend with a truck.... who would ever pay that a second time?????

The poor girl working in the store was having problems closing the account as it was trying to refund us our entire bill instead of just the deposit. The gentleman she called initially at Uhaul tried to help and we thought all was good until she tried to refund and it was still trying to give us the full rental back again. She yhen called her boss who wanted us to just leave the trailer with him and he would close the account the next day when he was at the store which would mean it was showing as still in our possession and arriving back a day late. When I said we wouldn't agree to this we were told we would then need to return it at a different location. I was absolutely awestruck to hear this . Thankfully the young girl then called the Uhaul gentleman back and together they were able to close the account and give us our $60 deposit back. We have taken pictures of the returned trailer at the return location so you have them if you need them. I would seriously consider removing this location from your family as they are not representing you well at all!!!!!

The windshield antifreeze was frozen. It thawed after stopping and letting the engine a while. There was a sticker over the speedometer at the critical speedometer limit indicators....50-60 mph. The kph markers were completely obscured. Otherwise the van was good to go.

I asked the person about gas mileage and I was told it would take approximately 3/4 of a tank of gas for my trip. I put that much gas into the tank and it did not nearly take that much and I was not refunded.

So slow on the check out process and check in process. Customer reps kept helping others while working with me meaning it took way longer. Machine for processing payment was glitchy. Good trailers but be prepared for a wait to book and return them.
