The mobile lock to get the keys was extremely difficult to open even with the code. The moving blankets and dolly’s were not in the truck as rented. I drove a total of 11 miles and was charged $60 for a gas surcharge. I would not recommend using this location.

I arrived at facility and didn’t get assistance till 30/40 min after I also got charged for a 15inch truck and I picked a 10 inch……the person apologized but it pl put me behind and was just unprofessional.

Kimberly BHer dog bit me. Then she didn’t know how to work the computer so she somehow messed up my rental. Then one of your phone reps canceled and redid my reservation. This all took an hour and a half. Then when I got to my home I found out the phone reps canceled my movers. So me and my daughter spent hours doing the move ourselves. Then the return of the truck was to a place that didn’t have parking and charged us for gas. We had to submit photos showing the fuel was exactly where it was supposed to be. You messed up everything!!!

I hope I returned the vehicle to the correct location, I documented everything. Total disaster, U-Haul should be disappointed to be associated with this third party contractor. This took hours of my day after a stressful move, cost me money to ensure things were done correctly, and I was flying blind. Really awful experience.

Uhaul customer support over the phone was very helpful in getting a key and telling us where the trucks were parked (2 blocks away and out of sight of the pickup location). The truck itself had a strong cigarette smoke and there were cigarette butts in the cargo area.

Susan STruck was broken upon pickup. Trucks are not parked anywhere near the location and there's not adequate signage to tell anyone where to go for self pick-up.
BRANDON HExplain the online process better. The website was difficult and confusing to navigate. The directions were not clearly explained in the emails. The uhaul vehicles were not located at the same location the keys were, they were street parked around the corner. Requesting pictures of the vehicle after having the user go to the key box is inconvenient and backwards. Slow and complicated process.

Ricardo MThe truck was located far away from the business and sidewalks were not maintained. The location at night was not safe for customers (next to a viaduct on an unlit, rarely trafficked street. The fuel tank had been compromised at some point before my use leading to an unsafe trip for me and long wait times on a busy day.

ANGELO LWorst experience ever. My reservation was for 1pm the person in charge was not at location I called him and he tells me my rental truck was just dropped off but he was not at location and would be about 40 minutes to get to location to get me the keys. We had paid movers and they were at home waiting doing nothing for an hour since the rental was not ready. The person in charge stated he would extend my return time since rental was not ready on time and that did not happen and to top it off I was charged an additional $40 to extend the return time which I think was very wrong to be charged for something that was clearly U-Haul’s fault. And I was the one inconvenienced.

Those surfaces should be wiped down inbetween customers at the very least. When I returned the vehicle, I called the number attached to my rental 3 times to verify my return but there was no answer or call back. We also returned the vehicle with more gas than what we picked up the vehicle with.

Even looking for the place, i must of past it up 5 times before I realized that a small uhaul sign was posted on the building. Why not a sign or 2 on the sidewalk?
James FThis was a very interesting and alarming location I’m a female and I was very shocked concerned and upset first of all there were people living in a garage makeshift car wash and some random other things that were going on in that garage a gentleman that had no teeth that was older handed me a house phone to speak to the gentleman who actually on that facility this will cause me to not use U-Haul at all I am a Dr. a first responder cardiologist and it was a disaster from day one my reservation had gotten routed to 17th in Ashland in my original reservation was located at 500 West Cermak I had to walk to Ashland which is 1700 unbeknownst to me that it was going to be in a Be unsafe area not Not to mention no one on the premises was wearing a mask I see thousands and thousands of people die every day from the coronavirus I was quite upset there was no hand sanitizer there was no napkins there was nothing this is a very poor excuse and unprofessional to say the least for U-Haul to have a place like this I tried to call and speak to someone and every single individual that I spoke to gave me the runaround I’ve contacted mayor Lori Lightfoot to inform her how horrible the whole set up was and that no one was wearing mask at all it was unhygienic and it was unclean in the evening at night you had to return the truck and there was nowhere near the address I hope you

That's just starters, drove like crap, they're was boxes and filth in the back of the truck. It was obvious they do not know what they are doing when it comes to scheduling. It was a horrible experience, just being real. If people would only could only DO THEIR JOBS.

Jaime CThe app is hard to use. You have trucks on one street and the lock box that are a block and a half away from each other. It’s not very intuitive, but the map and pictures help. Also when you are waiting to be approved it would help to have a countdown. Otherwise you just stare at your phone and have no idea if you’ll be able to open the truck or not. The only thing that’s good is that you can pick it up on a Sunday! Otherwise it’s hard to find a Uhaul spot that is open on Sunday.
Charis BThey were very unfriendly and the UHaul van was dirty and wet. I had to wipe floor of the van before load the van. They also forgot to tell me that I need to come get the utility dolly from them after picking up the van. I had already arrived at my destination when I realized the dolly was missing. When I called they told me to come back to get it. They told me they would compensate me for their mistake and for the inconvenience of driving back and forth by taking off the extra mileage added on to the van. However, when I was billed after returning the van, there was no adjustment of the mileage and the amount billed. The owner, Donte, is very argumentative so I will not even be contacting them to try to get this bill adjusted. But I would never utilize them again. I already warned my roommate not to go to this specific location.
Abby LThe location was fine but I had a lot of problems with the online check in and check out, which I wasn't anticipating as it went very smoothly when I used it about 1 year ago. Also vehicle needs an oil change according to the dash board light, that would have been more stressful to see if it wasn't such a short trip to pick up a couch.
Carolyn GI never received a code to use the self-service feature. This resulted in someone at the auto shop having to call someone on the phone. The person I spoke with initially stated that I didn't have a reservation, even though I'd made one 11 days prior to picking up the truck. When he did find my reservation, I kept asking for the lock box code and the person on the phone raised his voice a bit at me in a seemingly impatient way, even though I'd told him several times that it was hard to understand him. Finally, the truck was dirty. Since we're in the midst of a very contagious pandemic, I'd expect that the trucks would be serviced more frequently.
Arienne JThe truck worked but everything else about this experience was awful. There was no attendant present when I showed up at the time of my reservation 4. I had to ask someone on the lot what to do and they had the owners phone number. When I called I was told to come back in an hour because they were unsure if the car was returned. I had to walk to the parking location and call the owner back to let him know the truck was there. Then wait 15 minutes for someone to show up and another 15 minutes to check out. This are 45 minutes of my check in process. There was no explanation for what to do when I return the truck but to drop off the keys. Then I received a text after i dropped off explaining that they would charge a $20 fee if I didn’t complete the online form. I then had to drive back to the location to get photos and share my location to prove I dropped it off correctly. This place is terribly run and was an awful experience. I will be renting from the Home Depot next time to save myself the headache and 2 extra I wasted before and after my move dealing with this very unprofessional management and their unexplained processes.
Paul TVan smelled of HEAVY smoke and it took a lot of effort to get cleaning charges taken off of bill for not being responsible of the dirty van. Change oil light was on and representative told me it’s ok to drive on a rental van that needed an oil change. Check tire pressure was also on. Did not come with the dolly or moving blankets I requested. I ended up getting my money back for the extra charges but it was not a pleasant experience. Do not recommend the mobile pick up.
Carlie MOther than a very small sign outside and a piece of paper inside there is nothing to show that this place is a U-Haul pick-up/drop-off location. I was ushered in by a man who couldn't speak English very well and then told to call a number which turned out to be an individual's cell. While waiting for the guy to show up I was subjected to a long rant by this old black guy with almost no teeth (honestly he seemed homeless but I guess he worked there?) about how the Coronavirus is nothing and that people are going to start getting robbed. Luckily I am a pretty patient and calm person because to most people this would have been an incredibly uncomfortable situation.

Trudy JFor the Ashland location, it looks like a car dealer. Very hard to tell it's also a U-Haul dealer. The location to park the trucks is on the street before the actual dealer. It was a little confusing, but the workers were helpful.

Once there I got in it was sketchy and no one knew why I was there, eventually someone helped out they called the owner, got him in the phone with me however it was a dingy phone and I could barely hear the owner, on top of which someone at the facility was pestering me. The owner did not give any instructions before picking up the truck. It wasn't even park at the facility I had to walk 2 blocks down to get the truck. Also was not explained properly how to return the key. They were to lock boxes.

Juhie FI needed to be somewhere at 6 oclock and missed my appointment because the phone check in didn't / doesn't work. The vehicle wasn't where the map said it would be, I wasted time looking for it, and then I stood there for an hr in the cold uploading photos and calling customer service, causing me to miss my meeting, and not even need the vehicle, and lose out on a lot of money for the weekend. The manager there was able to check me in but he was very rude to me. Then on check in, they overcharged me for gas, and were extremely rude when I called about it. Thankfully I took photos! Always get PROOF!! I would not recommend. Not a very good experience at all.
