Owner was a complete asshole. Some greasy middle eastern dude yelling at me telling me what I was “supposed” to rent.

Great customer service
LARRY JI was given the keys without any providing a thorough check of the equipment. I noticed a couple of dings so I took pictures of them to avoid being blamed. The cargo hold was also dirty but I didn't think anything of it since my move was quick and the dirt/debris didn't matter. When I return the vehicle I gave the keys to the on-site staff member. All he said was, "You'll receive an email shortly." 40 minutes later I get an email and saw that he charged me a cleaning fee. Not only did he not do the check of the vehicle while I was there, he then charges me a few for his dirty vehicle. Very scammy. I imagine this is common practice for him and he hopes people don't check their receipts. I will avoid using Neighborhood dealers in the future and go straight to the U-Haul stores

JENNIFER GLocation was fine, truck was positioned for easy pulling out into street, and was able to get early in the morning. The trucks transmission wasn’t doing super hot but it got the job done fine.

And was very rude to us. Also his office smelled like an ashtray. Disgusting. The truck was new, but ran like shit.

CHARLES CThe older man that was behind the desk was not only unwilling to solve the problem of not having our reservation on his list, he was rude. When he was given the reservation number, he just kept saying it was not on his list. He had to be told to call Chris (manager at another location) after he said “What am I supposed to do, I’m just a man”. After he made the call to Chris, we were able to get the trailer.
Leslie WSince the survey asked about the location, I was happy with that aspect of it, but I'm very upset that U-Haul ripped me off for about $20, by adding insurance on my rental after I CLEARLY opted out of it in the online booking

VICTOR BWe were overcharged for fuel. We did not review the gas guage marking on the paperwork before leaving and it was not correctly recorded. The mark on the paperwork was halfway between 7/8 and full, but it was actually halfway between 3/4 and 7/8. So we were charged for 6 gallons of gas when we only drove 24 miles in the city. There was also some sort of a discrepancy on the reservation where they claimed the res was for a 15’ when it was for a 10’ truck. They told me U-Haul had upgraded me and it was the same price, We were only moving a bed and did not want a larger truck and luckily I knew that the per mile price was higher for the larger truck (and fuel would have been more). Possible that both issues were honest mistakes but it felt a bit like a scam. The truck itself was new and clean and the service was pretty fast.

bill hHe did not know what type of gas the truck took. He did not explain the truck basics to me. The truck was parked in the back and when I went to take off in it there was a locked gate. It took half an hour from start to finish to get out of there with my truck. He did not inspect it upon return. And he was overall not engaged with me as a customer. Also I was not told that this location was at a furniture store, and it took 15 minutes of driving along Auburn Boulevard back and forth to find it. However the truck performed well and we got things done early.

Brenda TThe location hours are limited. I was unable to position of the seat or unlock the brake. The windshield wipers were missing on the right side of the vehicle. I was unable to use the truck for the full 24 hours because of safety issues. It was raining so without the wipers it wasn't safe. I have reported this information and was told that I'd be contacted. No one has contacted me.
Lois IOver charged for miles. Waiting since the 30th for someone to reach out. They are saying that i drove 142 miles in 2 hours while I have pictures and receipts in a 5 mile radius.

MOHAMMAD DWe originally reserved a small box truck add a standard U-Haul center 2 mi from our house. We were rerouted to another location to pick up our vehicle. This location really was a thrift store that just happened to do business with U-Haul. The young man who helped us was very nice however he was not very knowledgeable about U-Haul products, such as the insurance. The unconventional location and lack of information left us feeling a bit apprehensive. Also the location was about 15 mi from our home and we passed three other standard U-Haul locations between our house and the thrift store where we were rerouted. The vehicle we received was well maintained and worked fine. Just the experience was unsatisfying.

Jay Cthey had as much difficulty as I did with the internet software for U-Haul. I spent far too much time trying to complete the trailer request online. I received assistance from a location on Wills Ave in Roseville CA, they were very helpful. Trailer pickup on Auburn Avenue was very uncoordinated and confused. three of us were holdup due to inexperience it appeared
