Not sure why some equipment can be checked out anytime and some only a specific time. I had a cargo van that had 24x7 availability and when changed to a 10' truck my 7am pickup was no longer valid - I had to wait until 9am - TWO HOURS - to get it which is coincidentally when the location opened despite the fact that I never interfaced with them.David F.

I believe Uhaul (not the location). Reds to do a better job with Customer service. I was looking for a round trip rental Thursday to Sunday which I was denied. I then booked 2 one ways. My destination was changed on my first one way (pushing my drop off further away from my destination). I went along with it. I was also told at the time that my 2nd reservation was not confirmed as there was no longer a truck available (that doesn't make sense given an individual is dependent on their reservation). I was then told my start point for my second rental was changed (again. Farther away from my destination) I had a feeling they were changing each to give me a truck on my second pickup. I was correct. I picked up the same truck on Sunday that I dropped off Friday at a location not chosen by me but picked by uhaul which were both further away from my address. I asked multiple times if truck wasn't rented why I couldn't keep with no good answer. If you look at my receipts you will see NO ONE took this truck all weekend besides me. Uhaul could have easily offered me the option to keep the truck even if I had to pay the higher one way rate. Offering the convenience of keeping the truck would have gone a long way for great customer service.MELISSA G.

The Uhaul truck I was given was covered in car hair and cat urine which was unbearable during my 1300 mile transit. I was forced to stop multiple times in order to try and disinfect and get rid of the smell which did not work. I spent almost $3500 for the rental on this truck and if I had the choice I would have never rented this vehicle but since it was the only one available as I was told I was forced to rent the truck. There was also a crack in the windshield and I called the location the same day to report these issues and was only told they would â€œnote my fileâ€ and no offer to correct the issue was given. I am extremely disappointed with the service and rental.Sean L.

The mileage was wrong by 1000 miles from what was on the pick up phone app. I ordered moving blankets and they were not in the truck at pick up and I was charged for them anyway. Waited on hold for more than 30 minutes to speak to a customer service representative while we tried to explain the mileage was different than what was documented and that we requested blankets that were not there. Furthermore I requested a 20 foot U-Haul in Old Saybrook and the day of the move found out we had to drive to Groton about 20 minutes away for a larger truck which obviously used more gas than we needed. Overall frustrated and not thrilled with the experience however the drop off location in Lebanon New Hampshire was very accommodating and nice to have a live person to explain the issue toMitchell M.

There was some initial confusion regarding my pick-up location and truck size. But the locations were only a mile apart, and the truck was a sufficient size and available when I needed it (along with moving pads). From the UHAUL perspective I am very happy with how my move went!ERIC C.

Here is a great idea: how about next time, you give me the correct lock box number instead of giving me an incorrect lock box number and having me wait at the place for an hour and a half in order to receive the key to the truck. I was told lock box 1, but it ended up being in lock box 2. This was super inconvenient for me and it took away a lot of time that I could have spent packing. I think the best way to settle this would be some sort of partial refund/rebate because quite frankly if I was given the correct lock box number, I would have had a breezier move.Andrew G.

The problem is with the app and the entire online process of checking out and returning the vehicle. It took me about an hour to get the vehicle and an hour trying to return it because portions of the app would not work. I called customer service and wait time was 45min before anyone answered. I tried to use chat and the chat person told me to call customer service and disconnected the chat. It was more difficult renting from U-haul than renting from any rental car company.Antavius M.

The lady at the front desk wanted to charge me a $25 cleaning fee for 2 bottles and 3 napkins that were left in there by the pick up location. She was really rude to the gentleman before me and then myself. Unfortunate experience. Truck had not been cleaned. Used mask in the cab, and rear had not been swept. Rear door stuck toward the bottom and hard to close. You can also be sure to include the equipment ordered. I ordered with an appliance dolly, furniture dolly, and 24 furniture pads. NONE was there. I was asked to go to another location, but was only able to get the appliance dolly. The mobile online registration that was supposed to provide me a code to access a lock box for the vehicle did not provide it. Business provided a trailer for interstate travel limited to 45 MPH per the sticker on the trailer, didn't tell me this, and this limitation was not stated in the rental agreement. Then when I called them to inform them of this they told me they were not aware of the speed limitation and they recommended I ignore it. Still awaiting refund.Ronald W.
