The U-Haul app was difficult to use and not at all user-friendly. I had to use the app to pick up the truck I had reserved outside of business hours. Even though I had requested a reservation for one week, the app defaulted to a one-day rental. I had to call to correct my reservation.

Dale VThe truck was clean and in good working order. Service was professional and prompt. However, this location had no appliance dolly or furniture blankets, which I had reserved. This caused some inconvenience.
DANIEL WI was charged for a furniture dollies but the location doesn't carry any equipment. Also the truck was on empty when I received the keys.
MAURICE C-Parking is limited and the place is small. The truck was parked in a muddy grassy area with little space between other trucks. -The dolly’s and furniture covers I ordered were not in the truck. Since I picked up before the store opened, I was unable to get it for the move. -The app. Gave me an error so I couldn’t finish the pickup process without calling the 800 #. -Once I finished getting registered on the phone, I was told a manager would call me to process the reimbursement. No one ever called.

Judith DWe returned the truck in the dark and the place was closed, so this added to the challenge. The directions indicated the drop off was after turning - in fact it was right on the corner. The place was very dark, and we felt the need to drop off and leave quickly. Because the site was closed, there were no personnel who could be helpful. No place in this review to comment on the truck itself. The truck worked fine; I have had previous experiences when they broke down. I felt that there was too much play on the steering. A little bump would cause a need to really realign the vehicle on the road. Since I normally drive a sedan, maybe this takes some getting used to with the truck, but I have driven school buses and other types of truck. It might be worth checking the vehicle.
Jonathan LI selected to have a Utility Dolly and Furniture Moving Pads, but I did not receive them. Upon checking in on the mobile app and advising those items were NOT provided, I will still charged for them. Additionally, the interior light stayed on while the vehicle was turned off and locked, which created a dead battery during both loading up and unloading. I had to call uHaul to get assistance to gain access to the uHaul through the mobile app. Very frustrating experience when you're already in the middle of an overwhelming move.

David DAngel at the store is very helpful. William, Angel, and Harrison, my movers, worked extremely hard and were very nice. I was able to get my truck at Zion Crossroads where I wanted it. But, not having this site guaranteed, made me very nervous. I didn't want to drive into Charlottesville VA to get and return the truck.

LATEESHACARLETTE GMy reservation did not include any additional charges, to include the insurance. My reservation quoted me at $77, but you attempted to charge me over $150 after the insurance and my $30 credit failed to apply. I mentioned that I had a $30 discount for dropping the trailer off at a specific location which dropped the cost to ~$120. This is still nearly $50 more that what I was originally quoted. It was late, I was frustrated from my long day, and accepted the charge cuz I didn’t trust you’d be able to find the charge in a timely manner. Later I found it was because your system automatically added the insurance, which I had specifically declined during my reservation process. Either you are adding it purposefully to upcharge people maliciously, or you’re software does it automatically and it’s a malicious tactic my UHaul corporate. Either way it’s a very dishonest practice. And I’m not happy that I was improperly charged for the insurance.
Elizabeth HTrailer wasn't in horrible shape. Rear door was open, so leaves had blown inside. Only 1 associate working, so was impossible for her to leave the store to inspect the vehicle. I've contacted uhaul concerning incorrect charges, declined safetow charges, etc...and still today, 6 days later, there's a $104.65 charge on my card that should've been refunded/corrected to a rental of a $20 trailer.
Melissa COverall I like this location. I do think that they should be more attentive in recording the gas level. Both times I've rented from this location, the agreement didn't accurately reflect what was in the tank. Both times I returned the truck close to, but over the amount that was in it when I received it. I also washed the potting soil out of the bed of the truck left by a previous renter and used detailing clay to get the dust out of the cupholders and such this time. It's a pick up, and I've raised 4 kids, the dirt didn't bother me and the truck is overall in great shape, however I was a bit offended to see I'd been charged for gas after going to the lengths I did to return the truck in better condition than I got it out of appreciation for the business. It's fixed, things happen, it's not a huge deal as far as I'm concerned, but that is the one area I believe could be improved. That said, I want to recognize the fact that everyone I have dealt with in that location has been amazing and I don't want this viewed as a complaint.
Stella BSmall location with a good services. Staff representative was very helpful and willing to assist me at all time. As soon as I enter to the Facilities I was received me with a great smile and treated me with a lot of respect. Thank you for that kind of action.
Luis VI was charged miles over , and just went to my storage unit in Stafford Va. to My storage Unit in Gordonsville Va. , and to fill the truck back up with fuel, what a rip off this experience was for me and costly ..

geovanny bThere was an error with the equipment that was assigned to me and what the actual equipment. This delayed the checkout process. Additionally, there is only one person at the location who is also handling the vape shop. She was nice and did her best, but she had to keep stepping away to help other customers.

russell wthe location was great. the uhaul app cant be trusted. the check out process (with clerk) was relatively smooth, although the DL scans from the reservation did not stick and had to be taken again. the check in process (mobile app) was problematic. the location could not be found on the map. the directions on the app were unclear. i was never prompted to enter fuel gauge or odometer reading. i was charged for fuel even though i gassed up the truck. the clerk in the store was apologetic but unable to assist with correcting the overcharge error.
Alexis PLighting was virtually nonexistent in the high traffic area that was semi rural… Making our decision to wait until morning to pick up our truck quite an easy one. Safety first. We did NOT feel safe. Perhaps the biggest nuisance was that the GPS using the app said we were not in the right location, we tried it 10 times while sitting right in front of the correct store itself. No luck. Had to come back the next day which was a minor inconvenience considering our our original plans for loading the truck Friday night instead of Saturday mid day.

Andrew MI called Troy to verify their hours so I would know if I need to do an after hours drop off. The woman I spoke with assured me they would be open until 5pm. I showed up with the truck at 4:40 AND IT WAS CLOSED, no one in sight. Unfortunately, my phone battery had died so I could not login and learn the drop off procedures, so all I could do was lock up the vehicle and drop the keys in the drop off box. This frustrated me greatly, as I didn't know what I might have missed.

Robert DTruck was newer and fine but not clean. Only had 40% fill with gasoline. Windshield was filthy, inside was dirty and not disinfected, back of truck had dirty sheets and blanket that were not removed.
Michael AI reserved the truck to be picked up in Charlottesville. UHaul moved the pick up location further away and charged me for the mileage. I asked if I would get additional mileage because of the difference when I picked up the truck. The person there just said “I don’t know you’ll have to call them”. I’m assuming “then” is Uhaul customer service. Every time I have called there has been a 20+ minute wait.

Heidi KIt took a long time to check in our UHaul one way truck from Ohio at this location. Not really sure why but this location also seems to be a convenience store, UPS drop off, and Fed Ex drop off location as well as a UHaul location. So LOTS of traffic and distraction to the clerk behind the cash register. Especially by the FED EX personnel, and customers with FED EX and UPS packages to mail. My UHAUL drop off worked fine, but it took a long time until the person running everything finally got to me. Fine location but be prepared to WAIT a :LONG time....

Pamela SI originally had a reservation with Millers Market in Mineral Virginia. They called me the morning that I was to pick up the trailer that I reserved weeks prior saying that they did not have it and that Uhaul should have called me, which did not happen. The lady at Millers Market abruptly said she was canceling the reservation and offered no real assistance in what I could do. I was able to call Jonny's Quick Stop, who did not have the size trailer that I needed, but who did provide me with a number to call in Richmond, Va. I did call and was helped and found the size trailer I needed at an acceptable location. The lady at Safe Ship (not the owner) was so incredibly nice and helpful; she was AMAZING. My reservation experience was not so amazing, in fact it caused me much distress and anxiety. I cannot believe the I could make a reservation WEEKS ahead of time and get a call the morning that I was to pick up the trailer saying that it was not available. That is no was for a business to operate and is just unacceptable. I have rented from Uhaul previously and did not expect such poor business management.

gregory bVery small location that does not open until 10am on Saturday. This location did not have the moving pads I ordered. I had to go to another facility to get moving pads.
Kevin SHave the keys for the truck ready at pick-up time and the packing blankets ordered available for use. The individual that had to come to the location to break into the lock box to access the keys appeared annoyed that he had to come to do this task. The staff at the store were apologetic but complained about having a UHaul at this business location. I filed a customer complaint and am awaiting a response.
