I was overcharged by over $70! Absolutely ridiculous. That included a $35 cleaning fee when I left it spotless.

NORMAN RSales person seemed rude and not customer friendly at all. He changed my rental agreement from what I had on done on the app at his own discretion without telling me and not providing notice. No paper invoice was given at time of pick up. I noticed changes when I reviewed email receipt received. He said it was standard U-Haul practice to add additional miles and charge the SafeMove insurance even if I had opted out. I had never had this issue at any other of U-Haul locations. Will definitely never rent from this location again.

RAYLIN SI was charged for a cleaning fee when I made sure I swept and mopped the unit before turning it in. I even took pictures when I cleaned it. I called the studio and they said “call me later, I’m on my lunch break” I called back and no one answer

ROBERT HWe had a reservation when picking up. The man at this location created a totally new reservation including an additional day, double the miles, and coverage that we did NOT want. When we called him to ask about it, he was defensive. Upon returning the truck, he charged us a $25 cleaning fee when we cleaned it before returning it. Needless to say, we will NOT be returning to this location.

RAPHAEL FExplain to customers several hidden fees. The rate you mention is 19.99 plus fees for number of miles driven then you charge for several other things including fuel. For about 3 hours you charged me $40; it is a ripoff man. I’m totally unsatisfied.

Jose AIt was weird enough walking into a salsa dance studio to rent a truck, but then he asked if we were with the feds. There was a lot going on in that business. Gun classes, salsa lesson, skin care, only 2 U-Haul pieces of equipment, the truck we ordered and a trailer. There were cameras everywhere, and no U-Haul branding. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Felt sketchy. The truck was clean and worked well, so that’s why it got a higher rating.

He asked me to come in early because he was going to some remote location to play soldier. When I arrived he was dressed in camo and armed. Talked a lot of conspiracy theory stuff. He hurried me through the process. He advised all I needed to do on return is sweep out the back, which I did, leaving it cleaner than when I got it. I even washed the outside of the box! I was charged the cleaning fee, even though there were plastic hooks and bottles in the truck which I found when I loaded it. I will NEVER return to this location, and will vehemently advise anyone who will listen to do the same.

Enrique PWhen I told the owner at this location what myself and a friend had to do hook up and connect the auto transport ourselves. He asked me so it wasn’t already hooked up for you i replied “no”. He told me that the cable connectors from the trailer to the truck weren’t connected correctly. Seems like the pick up location requires additional training and to ensure that the equipment for any customer is ready for pick up.

Asnake SI turned in the van at this location and the owner had me sweep out the van. I picked up the van in Laredo at about 3:00pm, loaded brand new furniture, drove it to Edinburgh the following morning, unloaded it, and returned it to this location by 11:30am. So basically, the way I got the van is the way I returned it. Yesterday I received a bill for cleaning the inside of the truck. The McAllen location claims that it was dirty with food on the floor. I never saw any food, and it appeared relatively clean when I got it and when I returned it. I didn't eat anything in the truck. I don't know what the location owner is expecting, but we are talking about a moving van. I am very upset about getting charged the $25.00 for cleaning, especially when I had the van for less than 24 hours.
Jose FWe got there to drop off the U-Haul and we were told that we didn’t have to check in the U-Haul as he would do it for us. He insisted and took the key from us as to keep us from being able to finish the process. The check in process wasn’t completed until 2:30 pm when we dropped it off before 8:30 am. The person who checked in the U-Haul claimed that we left the U-Haul dirty and therefore charged us a cleaning fee. After requesting to view what was dirty we were sent a picture of dog hair on the floor of the U-Haul. We did not have any contact with a dog or go anywhere that we could have potentially picked up dog hair. We made sure to keep the U-Haul as clean as we got it and returned it more than an hour before we needed to return it. We don’t appreciate being charged an extra fee when we know that we returned it clean and we are not able to provide proof that it was clean since we were already being rushed off. If you ever return a U-Haul to this location take pictures before dropping it off and don’t let the guy do the check in process for you or you may get charged a cleaning fee when you know you cleaned the U-Haul before returning it.

Gloria HThe rented equipment (15’ truck) was parked very close to a building. Though I could enter the truck, it could be a challenge for some renters with mobility problems. This also necessitated the driver side mirror to be folded inward to avoid scraping the building. The folding of the mirror could be something that would be overlooked by someone inexperienced at driving larger vehicles. All else with the rental went well and would I rent from this location again.
MARTIN KThe price of renting a van and used not even 5 miles costs me $73 and change. That’s ridiculous a lot for renting from this place. I recommend you all make sure this doesn’t happen to you. I’ve used a van before and didn’t get charged this much before ever the most I’ve been charged was $34.57 and that’s because I used more miles that time.

Eric PWorst customer service! Firstly, the person who is running this place is extremely rude and lacks basic customer service skills and professionalism. The place is never open during regular business hours. I got there 10 minutes prior to my reservation and the location was closed! When the person finally got there, he did not even acknowledge me as he was having a conversation on his phone. Walking into the location, it is chaos in there! They have stuff everywhere! Finally after like 5 minutes, he finished his conversation and helped me with my reservation. I left the lot about 10 minutes past my reservation time. Unfortunately, on my way back to return the vehicle I was involved in an accident. I promptly notified the person and provided all the information needed. I had purchased the collision waiver so I would have to pay the deductible and rental fees, which l was more than willing to pay. When I provided payment, this man charged my card almost $50 over what I needed to pay and when I questioned him about it he became upset and refused to explain to me why as his excuse was he didn’t have access to what he charged. That makes no sense! Anyway, after reviewing the receipt I also noticed he was billing the insurance for dents when there were no dents on the vehicle! It was two minor scratches on the front bumper! Thankfully, I was able to speak to the location manager and he was able to refund what this person over charged me. Ridiculous experience!
Maria LI was charged am additional $50.00 without my consent. I called in and the gentleman told me that the truck was sticky and not clean. Had I known and was told I would have picked it back up and cleaned myself. He saw it when I dropped it off but I was later charged $50.00/ Bad business practice. I will appreciate anyone calling first to discuss Unhappy customer No more U HAUL rentals

Rudy GThe truck was clean but not mechanically sound. The steering was loose and it wondered, all over the road and needed constant steering correction just to keep it straight. So charging one dollar per mile for poorly maintained vehicle is robery.
juan rIt was never explained to me the coverage charges. I used my credit card and that charge should have been waived. The guy did not ask me if I wanted or not.
