The mobile check-in process has bugs/issues â€“ it would make me log in twice and the app began saying there was "No Network Connection" even though I did have a connection. Inform customers that the trailer setting turns on when the truck is turned on. It messes with the driving and makes it harder to go up hills if not towing anything. It's a quick button push to turn off, but if someone doesn't know this, it will make driving hard. But other than that, all good! Thank you!Ciara M.

I will never rent here again and let everyone what horrible service I received not to mention the truck I rented was disgusting and smelled like weed. This location was not bad, but U-haul as a whole was horrible. I reserved a 26ft one-way truck 3 months in advance, 30-days prior to my move date, I modified the pick-up date, which apparently put me back to the end of the line. 1 day before my pick up date, I get a call they do not have my truck, but can offer me a 10 ft one-way truck. How that size compares to a 26ft truck us beyond me. The other offer was to drive 3 hours to the town I was moving to, to pick up a truck. And yes I'd be paying for the extra gas. The last resort option was to do a 2-day in-town rental with a 20ft truck. So now I have a smaller truck and have to drive it back to the town where moves from. Oh and don't forget the gas and paying per mile! Since we got the smaller truck, we had to rent another truck (not from u-haul) to get all of our stuff in one trip. U-haul needs to tell you more than the day before that your truck is not available. Get your shit together and get those one-way trucks back to the towns that need them. Thanks for costing me an extra $600! Side note - the employees at this location were great, but corporate sucks! I will never use u-haul again, nor recommend for one-way moving.Ashli P.

Efficient, personable, and with the online reservation and online check-in (or whatever it's called), I can get in and out in minutes. But I usually don't because I get chatting with the manager while I'm my tie-downs and stuff. This is in sharp contrast to my first, recent U-Haul experience at another U-Haul vendor in the nearby Santa Cruz Mountains, where I spent over two hours jumping through hoops because they couldn't get my credit card to work, and I eventually left without a rental and lost the second half of a day designated to moving many items. I was just about to put U-Haul on my permanent sh*t list and write them off forevermore, but I was won back because of Short Stop. Now I've rented several times in just the last month and I'm stoked.J Six P.

The person that helped me was awesome. He was very knowledgeable and got me hooked up and on my way very quickly. Also, the lady from customer service that helped me was really great. I had a trailer reserved at a different location 3 weeks prior then was Told the night before that it was not available. This was a huge problem for me since I rent U-Haul trailers for work. I was very pissed off and she was able to calm me down and help. She explained to me what the problem was as well. On a side note. You at U-Haul need to figure out quickly how to insure that when a reservation is made that you can honor it. This was the third time in a row that there was a problem. Luckily I have been able to get from different locations what I needed. You can't send equipment out on a one way and â€œhopeâ€ that a trailer comes back To fulfill your commitments.Larry M.

when i arrived to pick up the truck and the car hauler I was informed that the closest car hauler was located in Santa Cruz. SO if i wanted it i had to go get it. Added 2 hours of unplanned time to my day- screwed up my entire schedule for moving my son from San Jose to boulder. The folks at the store really did not give a crap nor did the folks at the national number. I was told that a reservation means that the equipment will be available in "the vicinity".peter N.
The uhaul online no contact pickup was completely useless. There was a serious wait time while "processing" my order and the chat feature was moot. I tried to chat, got NOTHING. Had to go inside. At least the uhaul workers inside were helpful and fast. Not online situation was terrible tho. In times of pandemics it'd be real nice to have that no contact pickup option a reality.Zenna W.

The air conditioner worked but only blew warm air. It was really uncomfortable because I was driving through 100 degree heat. The truck was very nice but I needed air conditioning. When I dropped off the truck the man took the keys but wasn't interested in hearing about the air.Hannah L.

I had reserved a 15-foot truck weeks ago. The afternoon before I'm supposed to pick it up, U-Haul tells me there are none available. So I had to make do with a 10-foot truck. The truck I rented DID NOT have cruise control, despite U-Haul's claims that their whole fleet has cruise. The truck had no power; I had to shift down into 2nd or 3rd gear even to climb very gentle hills. The ride was very uncomfortable: the steering wheel could not be adjusted, neither could the seat except for minimal forward/back adjustment. No leg room for a normal-sized adult. Overall a very unpleasant experience.Carl B.
I reserved the trailer and it was ready as promised. The manager hooked it up to my rig for me and we tested the lights together. Trailer worked great, the manager was responsive and helpful, and the rental price was reasonable. A good experience all the way around.Michael M.

The location was great and employees friendly and helpful. Uhaul overall is absolutely terrible and I will never use again. I reserved a 4x8 trailer almost two weeks out to be picked up in Monterey. I was notified the day prior that it was not available and I would have to drive two hours to Paso Robles to pick one up. I am not sure who was able to reserve the trailer I should have had. I was able to switch to a 5x8 Open trailer in Monterey after almost 3 hours on the phone with uhaul, but not until the next day which was very inconvenient. I also had to purchase tie downs and tarps from Home Depot spending more time and money. I was then told the morning of that the trailer was not available in Monterey and I would have to drive to San Jose, an hour away, to pick it up. The open trailer was not good for the luggage and additional heat ruined almost 30 bottles of expensive wine purchased while in Monterey. The enclosed trailer originally reserved would not have had this issue. The whole process, reservation system, and lack of care or helpfulness from uhaul was infuriating.ZACHARY H.

The only thing the Uhaul person cared about was getting the truck back and charging us $25 for extra miles while we had to drive 6 hours to get a truck in the first place. If we didn't have to drive those extra 6 hours, we would have had plenty of miles. I was very surprised with this charge after all Uhaul put us through. The fellow who waited on me was obviously very busy. I was very unhappy that he charged me for insurance on both the 20' truck and auto transport without asking me. My son had already paid for the rental on-line (Rob Morgan) and told U-Haul he was covering the insurance charges with his AmEx card - we are still trying to get the refunds from U-Haul!!! What I will say whole-heartedly is that ALL of the people I talked with on the phone with the various changes I made were very good at their jobs, excellent communicators, and sweet to talk with.John S.

Get me the truck you guaranteed me. I reserved a truck that was 15 ft. I called 2 days before and was told they didn't have it. They gave me the closest size they had available which was 26 FEET. Was not excited about that. Called the morning of my reservation to confirm my pickup, and they told me the 26 ft wasn't available and they have to give me a 10ft truck at a location far out of my way. I arrived at my reservation time and the man behind the counter told me I had to wait because "he had a lot of other things to do". I hassled him and he then decided to help me. Overall, because I had a smaller truck than I needed, I had to make 5 trips.KYLE M.
This location was good. But it was the third u-haul location I had to in order to find the truck that I had reserved a week earlier. My reservation was for pickup at 2501 S Main St Soquel, CA 95073. I arrived and he didn't have my truck and was very confused. He told me that my truck was at 4860 Soquel. Went there and that didn't have it either. But at least that man was helpful and found my reservation and sent me to 2871 Soquel. It was overall an awful rental experience and even the employees told me it happens all the time. I'd ask for a discount but I don't even want to deal with your automated phone system again.Suzanne S.
