Inside the truck was dirty and the inner rear tire was flat - the service man who replaced the tire said the valve stem was broken and there was no way they checked the tire pressure before pick up.

After picking up the equipment, it took this location over a month to close out this rental which was returned the same day. I had mulitple U-Haul personnel about if I had returned the equipment. Thank goodness, I took pictures with the time and date of the returned equipment .

The U-Haul I reserved a week in advance was given away to another person. Then, I reserved the only available truck which was 20 ft. and that truck was given to someone else. Then, I had to drive to Newland, NC from Boone to pick up a 26 ft. truck (which was way too big for what I needed) 3 hours before I had to be moved out of my apartment back in Boone. It was very stressful.

This was an absolutely terrible and stressful experience all around, and I'm still paying full price for it. The manager at this location was over 3 hours late and didn't seem to be working with a sense of urgency when he arrived either. The whole situation was awful.

I reserved online, prepaid and even completed the check-in process the same day a week in advance. When I arrived to pick up the trailer, it wasn't there... The woman indicated that she saw the reservation and knew they had let the trailer go earlier and was wondering if I would show up. WHAT IS THE POINT OF MAKING A RESERVATION?!?!?

The address listed will send you on a wild goose chase in Google Maps. If you have T-Mobile service like I do) you have no signal in Newland, so you can't call for directions. I finally got connected to WiFi at McDonalds and did a wifi call for directions. It is very simple to submit a correction to Google for an issue like this.

I was told by staff at my pickup location that all U-Haul locations were open 7 days a week. When I arrived at my drop off location, the place was not open. I called customer service and they said it was okay to leave it there. I also did an online checkout. I was still charged for an after hours late fee. I called customer service once more and was told that my late fee was being disputed. I'd wish there were more clear instructions and better communication between dropping off.

The newland location is great, if that was the only point of contact I had with uhaul, I would have been fine. Thank you Natasha! Your check in process after I dropped off my equipment is awful though. The link never works. The woman on the phone was rude and threatened to charge me a fee for not using the website. Between that and your Banner Elk location being extremely rude as well, I'm not dealing with uhaul again if I can help it.

Was charged for a dozen packing blankets and there was only 4. Was told they weren't be charged, but it was. Said I had 1/2 tank of gas and there was 1/4, had to go back to have it adjusted. Truck was filthy on the inside. had to try to clean it up myself.

Nothing for this location!! The young lady who assisted me—Natasha—was very professional, but also very kind. When I had to wait after the regular hours of their business for my brother-in-law to meet me, she graciously waited with me. She's a wonderful representative for this business and for UHaul!!

I was disappointed that the drop off location was changed without notification. It wasn't until I picked the trailer up that the Newland location was disclosed. When I made the reservation online I chose Banner Elk as the drop off location. I even called the 800# to verify the info. I don't understand why the drop off changed.

Honor agreements made. I agreed to drop off Truck in Boone but when I went to drop off at this location which was listed as my drop off location, I was told I had to take the truck elsewhere??? I had to drive 25 min away to drop truck off.

The truck was ABSOLUTELY dirty. I had a dust pan full from the back of the truck and a used tissue in one of the rails. I would be happy to provide pictures.

First U haul has disappointed me, not securing a truck at the store I ordered from which caused me to desparetly find a ride to a town 40 minutes away. I then had to clean the truck before placing my items in the vechile. The truck reeked of cigarette smoke...ash tray was full of butts. Furniture I ordered were not in truck, there were only 4 usable due to others being wet and smelling of urine. ?? The box part was not cleaned, iot was full of dirt, cigarettes butts, and debris. The dollie I ordered was not on premises. Then payment was chargeed again, the mileage allowed was TOO low, I did not see this, is should of been atleast 120 miles higher one way. There was not at 1/4 tank of gas in truck. Although people were very nice and friendly. The truck was in poor shape. I realize this is not their fault as they are a drop off point. But please check for cleanliness, especially for remains in ashtrays, my allergies to cigarettes was comprised, which resorted in my physical distress. I can not recommend Uhaul in the future to anyone.

I was very upset that i got charged $40.00 dollars for an extra day for arriving 45 minutes after due time. The weather in Newland NC that day was cold and icy conditions and I had to wait for weather to clear to unload my rental truck. Have always used u-haul but will check competition for my next rental.
