The message from uhaul put my pickup time at 10am, but the location did not open til 11. Please update rental location hours of operation. Staff at rental soght were very courteous and helpful.

I began this process with talking to Mike Haxel @ Haxel Shell in Quincy,IL. I will NOT recommend him To anyone. He never said anything to the fact that there was a chance I would not be picking U-Haul up at his location. You can imagine how freaked I was when I received notice I was picking up in Hamilton IL...45 min away! I called him...and he flat out lied to me!!! First claimed he didn't talk to me...I personally went up there to make deposit so he couldn't get out of that lie so he went with that he explain all of this to me when I came in. All he said to me when I came in was I'm him...because I asked for Mike said I needed to put a deposit down and he had another employee do it. He gets a big fat F for my rating!!!! Thank goodness for the kind man at Scotties Fun Spot in Quincy IL where I did pick up my rental. I was under so much stress and he made sure that everything went as smooth as possible!!!!

Always have someone available to check vehicles in during hours you advertise you are “open”. It's stressful having to just leave the keys and not knowing if there is going to be a dispute about something related to the check in process.

First of all we were told our reserved truck was not available due to overbooking . So the location we chose was transferred to one way far away from us meaning more cost and loss of time etc .. then the day before my 87 year old mother who was moving said she did not get any recorded message the day before to tell us the location was changed to Scotties . There was absolutely no message left on her phone . My mother of age 87 said she did not hear the phone ring so had no idea that her moving truck would not be available 8:00 am the day she was moving . The morning of her move her daughter called to make sure all was ok and was informed thre was no truck . He called us back and said the corporate Uhaul company double booked the truck and that we would need to pick it up at another location . That other location ( Scottie ) was a good distance and that they were opening at 10.000 instead of 8:00 am . Our hired movers was expected to arrive at 10.00 am where we would have provided the truck already .Our moving day for our mother was filled with last minute confusion and anxiety . UHAUL NEEDS TO IPROVE THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION . WE WEFE INFORMED THAT UHAUL has done this type of business often and that is not reassuring at all . Scotties location is a fun house / skating rink for children and not a business for Uhaul trucks . Upon our arrival we needed find the door to the Uhaul business . We shouted in one door and someone said they would get someone to help us . We were asked to follow them in a dark playhouse and there we conducted business on the dark since the kids play place was closed up due to Covid 19 . I'm not sure why we were not in a room with lights . Strange day and our movers tried very hard to get our move in since we were delayed . Out of 10 - UHaul got a 10 for a great truck and a 0 for double booking our paid reservation one week ahead of our move . Also a 0 for poor communication for Scotties UHAUL , since no message on her iPhone was not left

The inspection at pickup and return went smoothly. The staff were quick and courteous to help me with the contract and hookup. They also had a nice selection of trucks and trailers to choose from.

The manger was very helpful and got us out quickly for drop off with no issues. However before dropping off we had a delay in Missoula Montana so before heading out we stopped at uhaul and asked to make sure the trailer was connected properly and to make sure our car could tow it so far. The guy that helped, I did not get his name but he was awesome. He went above and beyond to switch out the ball to the proper one that we should of been given in Burien, Wa I really wish I had his name bc he was the most caring and knew what he was doing to help us have safe travels.

Had to wait 45 minutes because of their computer system. They didn't have the truck size I needed. The cab of the truck smelled horribly of smoke.

I rented one of those tow Dolly's. I really only needed it for two days. U-haul made me rent for 4 days because I was going 690 miles away. I didn't need it that long. Just wished they let you rent for the days you really need to rent it for. So they basically got extra money out off me even though I returned it 2 days early. Next time have the person decide on how long they need it and not the cooperation people of U-Haul.

When I tried to check it in the website was not working it took me four times working on it and ended up being charged extra days rental because the website did not work properly I would not recommend dropping off without someone there to check you win I did not like it at all

The process was a little confusing for someone using this service for the first time. My pickup location was changed to meet the equipment needs i requested. I was charged for going over the expected mileage. I dont think they recalculated after they changed my pickup location. A whole 4.2 miles over. I thought that was a little finicky especially after the truck cost me $300 and was not set up with the furniture pads or furniture dolly i requested and paid for.

Moved my reservation an hour and half away. Uhaul needs to honor their reservation and not change things up when they get a wild hair. Using budget rentals so I don't have to deal with crappy policies and your last minute changes.

This drop off location was confusing. Also the cell phone coverage was spotty and it kept kicking me off the Haul site. It took 45 mins to return the truck because of this-very frustrating. I would much rather go to a "real" UHaul location where I could hand the keys to a person. There was no one to ask for help. Would not return here.

No personnel on hand. Location had a fringe cell connection. Had real difficulty with the check-in app. Fortunately a friend was able to help me through it. Not real sure about the security of leaving the truck with pads and dollies inside and no locks. I was concerned about any liability I might have for loss after I left the equipment behind.

The woman I dealt with on the phone was one of the most hateful and rude people I have ever talked to in my life! She was outright lied twice, then wouldn't listen and then hung up on me. We ordered a 26' truck, ended up with a 15' truck that we actually made three trips with and now have to rent another truck from somewhere else to finish moving. Needless to say it's been a horrible experience that has led me to a decision to never use your company again!

Make sure your equipment is in good condition. For $675 for a 1 way trip I expected quality equipment. The trailer leaked water and damaged some of the contents. Now I'm getting the typical run a round, call this place or that place, no one is responsible, even with the extra insurance

This is the second time I have had dealings with Scotties. The first time they didn't have the trailer I reserved. Had to go across town to get another trailer. Second time had to wait 20 min to drop off trailer. There was no one around. They run an amusement park there also. Did not get a return receipt as promised, Had to call U Haul customer service to get it cleared up. Customer service was very helpful.

Requested pick up was at Axels Shell in Quincy, got no call the day before to verify so called Axels day of pickup and they said trailer hadn't arrived yet. So after trailer still had not arrived an hour after pickup time they looked around and said Scotties had one, and I went over there to pick it up. So pickup was delayed several hours, not sure what was behind the problem. Everything else went well.

This facility needs another computer for the U Haul service. We had to wait until a party before us completed the paperwork for their rental. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable apologizing for the wait.

I can see how the 24/7 capability is nice, but without the proper WiFi service it is impossible. I wanted to pick the truck up at 0730, but due to the poor service I wasn't able to get the truck until 0930 when an employee arrived. Totally unsat!

I've rented from U-Haul before, and we've always had a good experience until this time. Once I placed my order, I got several confirmations about the pick up location at Cane's Automotive until just the other day when it told me it was going to be at Scottie's Fun Spot. I had a reservation for 9:30 that had been confirmed multiple times. When I got there to pick up, the owner of the venue was approaching the door when I noticed it was locked. I said I had a 9:30 reservation for a U-Haul. He said “we don't open until 10”. He was very rude even after explaining the situation. I wasn't aware of their specific hours...I just know that I had a 9:30 reservation that had been booked for a week. I had family waiting on me to get the U-Haul to them by 10. By the time they were finally able to figure out what they were doing and after dealing with the rudeness of the owner, I finally left there at almost 10:30, nearly an hour after my pick up time. Not only was the owner terrible, but this was a very strange place to have a U-Haul location being that it has a skating rink, go-carts, a play-place, etc. I would not recommend this location to anyone else. I won't be doing mobile U-Haul reservations in the future. Instead, I'll simply be calling my desired pick up location directly to avoid this confusion.

I had bought a trailer hitch/ball during the checkout process and was instructed that it would be at the store for me when I arrived. It was not. The employee apologized and handled it professionally. The location is not near anythings, so I had to drive back into town, purchase another hitch/ball, then drive back to finish checking out. I asked the clerk to refund my purchase, but he said he couldn't. I'm still trying to figure out how to get a refund.
