Tried to change the drop off location and not only did they charge me more money to take the trailer less miles but they screwed up the drop off location on the paperwork. I had to wait over an hour for them just to tell me they still hadn’t figured it out to just go ahead and leave it there. Don’t know that I will ever use U-Haul again. It wasn’t the error of anyone from BP in Carlinville. It was the lady in Quincy at Scotties and U-Haul’s website error according to her.

Timothy BThe left trailer tire had a separated steel belt that resulted in high vibrations of the trailer at speeds of 25 to 35 MPH. We stopped a couple of hours into our trip and contacted the roadside service who changed the tire. The technician showed us how the tire tread was very out of round due to the belt separation. This should have been checked at the pickup location. We lost over two hours of time to get the tire changed.
Steven EScotties was fantastic. However U-Haul itself was terrible. I reserved a small trailer 3 weeks before needing to pick it up. 2 days before pickup I was told that the small trailer was not available so they would upgrade me at no additional charge. I went to pick up my trailer at the confirmed location, only to find that it was not there and they didn’t have a trailer available. The U-Haul rep said I could switch and pick one up from Scotties, but said that U-Haul would not honor the original price. I pushed back. After a talk with a manager, I was told I would get the same price. When I arrived at Scotties, my reservation had been changed from 8 days to 1 day. They couldn’t extend the reservation without cancelling it. So I ended paying more for a bigger trailer that I didn’t need. The smaller trailer was the correct size for what I needed. More to the story, but I will leave it at I wouldn’t risk my plans again by using U-Haul.
