I wasn't expecting this to be a gas station with two trucks for rent. It just felt "sketchy" . The attendant was VERY NICE but the process was not efficient and took close to an hour. The site was down and he had to reload twice.Barbara H.

Answer the phone when your customers call. I waited on line each time I called for an hour plus. The return drop boxes at locations aren't designed to accommodate larger key sizes. The key would not fit in the drop box. Had to make a second trip to wait thirty minutes for an attendant to show up. The charges beyond daily rental, miles and tax should be disclosed when a customer books a reservation.margaret B.

Remote check in app did not work - it kept asking for a valid drivers license number even though I entered it correctly several times. I finally asked the lone employee at the location (which was a gas station) for help. He gladly assisted me but we were interrupted many times by customers purchasing gas, cigarettes, snacks, etc. His 50 cent snack customers were more important than my $100 truck rental. Local agent was excellent I used on line reservation system and checkin process but kept getting an error message that I was not entering a valid drivers license number. That is not true!! The local agent had to re-enter all the info into the system. Very frustrating.steven K.

The "clean and well maintained" question needs to be split. The truck was well maintained, ran well and even the AC worked flawlessly on a VERY hot moving day. "Clean" definitely did NOT apply to this vehicle. Given the COVID-19 concerns, and the cleaning touted by U-Haul on their web site, we were disappointed to find the cab absolutely filthy. While throwing away trash that was left by a prior customer(s), we even found a (current) electric bill from a prior customer. (That was left with the agent at return.) We wiped down everything with disinfecting wipes, which was supposed to have already been done, and they were FILTHY brown with grime that came off the seats, handles and controls. That is not only gross, but dangerous right now. This truck hasn't even seen a vacuum cleaner in a very long time, as the floor was covered in dirt. The truck performed well and definitely did the job. It was NOT clear when we rented the truck that the one-way rental only included 99 miles, so the web site really needs to clearly present that information. That is obviously not a "strike" against the pick-up location.Douglas T.

It was a loud highway, and you have to wait everytime someone needs something. (Abt every 2min) but it was rather fast and the lady was doing her best. You cant ask for more then someone doing there best. And best to go early.Tyler W.

The setup for pick up is horrible. You have to stand out in the elements. The person in the booth is hard to hear over the traffic noise. You also have to stop and wait every time someone wants gas or cigarettes. I will not use this location again.Barbara C.

This was a small gas station without an office and only (1) attendant. However it was very convenience to drop off and fill up with gas. The attendant was very helpful but had to wait on other customers at the same time.Diana E.

Actually make it a self checkout. Owner had to involve himself and I waited behind numerous cash only gas customers to be helped. Process took 50 minutes! I was charged for a late truck return that wouldn't have happened if it was figured from the time I actually removed this truck from the lot! Terrible service!Paul T.

I had a one way drop off which was originally scheduled to be dropped off at Laurel Community Hardware (037519) located at 1001 S Central Avenue in Laurel, DE. When I got there and after closing out my reservation using the mobile drop off. I was informed by a person that told me that Laurel Community Hardware was no longer a uhaul location. I had to contact customer service which had to reroute me to this location in Seaford. I was not pleased by this inconvenience that was beyond my control. I would suggest doubling checking and ensuring your drop off locations are valid, even though at the time of this reservation and drop off, this location was still showing in the Uhaul system as being an active site.Christopher S.

i called another UHaul . They sent me to this place. Even after confirming my order I wasn't sure that they would have the size truck I needed. I felt like I was being rushed off of the phone. Handling business from the little shack with the gas pumps was not easy.Nancy D.

Because this was a gas station, I had to wait every time another customer came to the window. Not an overall good experience. Nothing wrong with the truck except it was too small even after following their recommendations. They automatically charged us for two days when we only needed one citing some excuse about it being a one way rental. They would not reimburse for the 1/2 tank over gas we left even though they were going to charge $4/gallon if we had been under and there is no way to know how much gas you are going to need. Not happy. Seems like they are taking advantage of people in a situtation. For reference, we went 116 miles on a little over 1/4 tank of gas with a 10 ft. truck.Eric F.

Owner of this uhaul/gas station is rude. He doesn't seem to understand basic customer service. Nor does he want to check in your vehicle. Spent too much time here as we both had to call uhaul even after my rental had been closed. He wouldn't allow me to leave.Natalie T.

He had no record of the order, probably because the origination point was having issues with computer. I had to call some number and she took my credit card one more time. Drop off owner was a foreigner, first told me "there was no room", AND i COULDN'T DROP OFF THERE.Really ??? There was a whole parking lot EMPTY. I rented a Tow dolly and the right tire is low on air. I aired it up but the following day pressure is low again. Could be the previous person who rented it did not report it. I've done my part reported when I returned it at another station.Jonvi S.
The business hours posted are 6:00am-4:00pm but the employee says they don't open until 8:00am. This caused me to be late for my 7:00am appointment time to pick up my load I was hauling. My Uhaul pick up time was scheduled for 6:00am. I had to wait for the attendant to check in then wait while he said his morning prayers. I wasn't given any paperwork to carry w/me while renting. I received a rental agreement via email upon returning my rental the next day around 0715hrs. I'm glad the Police didn't stop me & ask to see my rental agreement while I was hauling that 6x12 trailer. I didn't have any rental proof due to this. What a big problem that would've been. If you say open at 6:00am for pickup then 6am the attendant should be ready for customers to conduct business. Not after we wait for him to open everything up & then make his prayers. This should be done prior to the 6:00am â€œPOSTEDâ€ opening time. I have nothing against anybody's prayers, but, customers shouldn't have to wait for employees to conduct their morning prayers during business transactions.M. Craig H.

The gentleman who runs the Gulf station is very nice, but his "office" is a closet-sized, overheated booth in which he simultaneously deals with the gas customers. He does his best, but a tough situation. The truck itself was great, but had not been swept out. I had requested 3 dozen furniture pads, but only 11 were actually available. Nevertheless, I appreciate U-Haul!Robert F.

I am not very happy with uhaul at this point. You can look at my history with Uhaul and I have rented from Uhaul 7 or 8 times in the past. I rented a auto transport on 5/23 l, had the transport for a couple of hours and realized it would not work with the vehicle that I was towing it with. I returned the auto transport and was trying to exchange it for a car dolly a week later. I was told a manager was going to call me back and still have not received a call. I was sent a $25 coupon which I tried to use when I rented the car dolly on 5/31 which also did not work when I tried to use the coupon. So on 5/23 I rented a auto transport for $123 dollar and then rented a $100 car dolly a week later and all I was really look for was an even exchange, I was not even looking for money back. I guess my concern was addressed with the $25 coupon that uhaul sent me that didn't even work!!!!!Eddy P.

My rental experience with Uhaul on May 19 for the pick-up in Seaford, Delaware was completely and totally disrespectful. The Uhaul brand is severely tarnished by associating with the Gulf gas station where I was required to pick up the 5x8 trailer for my rental -- both in terms of the abysmal quality of the location and utter lack of customer Since the Uhaul rental was not a priority to the gas station attendant, I was pushed to the side a total of 8 times for the attendant to wait on other people rather than processing my order. Although I had completed all of the required documentation and payment for the trailer online, the gas station was utterly unprepared for validation of documentation for the rental. I was forced to write my personal information (including name, cell #... and personal contact information for my sister in Iowa?!) on a piece of paper that was randomly passed back and forth to the attendant in an enclosed booth - which has never been part of the process for renting a Uhaul vehicle or trailer in my prior experiences. He also held on to my drivers license for an extended period while waiting on the gas station customers. The process took approximately 45 minutes to process the pre-existing reservation. Upon finally completing the paperwork for the trailer, the gas station attendant just pointed the trailer to me and walked away. I was offered absolutely zero help or direction in how to attach the trailer (and I was there alone for the pick-up). Thankfully on prior Uhaul trailer rentals other franchises and Uhaul store workers had confirmed my tow hitch capability and advised me on the process for connecting the trailer. Association with this specific gas station franchise site is doing serious damage to the Uhaul brand. Between the lack of inventory management, misrepresentation of the pick-up locations offered on the website, and utterly unprofessional customer service both at this pick-up location and when calling customer service, I personally will not be renting with Uhaul ever again in the future.Emily K.

The attendant processed my paperwork fast. But everything else was very poor. Trailer was unserviceable. 1. The electrical wiring harness for the trailer to use the vehicle lights was missing. 2. The S hooks on the trailer safety chain would not securely attach to the vehicle. The S pattern is not round it was almost pinched metal to metal. I brought this to the attendant. The attendant repeatedly told me that they were only for safety and I didn't need to worry about attaching the chains to the tow vehicle. I found this very very odd. Maybe he doesn't know that how important this is. I tried to switch trailers and was abruptly told if I don't want this one we had made the contract for, he would cancel the contract and not rent anything to us. I've never had this atrocious kind of bad customer service. I will not rent from that location ever again. I will also warn my friends about this treatment.Ronald W.

They close at 4 and the gas station attendant owes not do anything except ask me to move and park the tow dolly and truck. He was absolutely useless. He asked me to bring it back the next day. No Uhaul personnel available. The site says 24 hours drop off, but no Uhaul rep is there after 4. My contract was to drop off at the Gulf gas station ,the next day Uhaul tells me I was supposed to drop off somewhere else. It was a cluster mess.GENE R.

The inside of the truck where we sit had a bad smell and it odor. The wiper blades need to be replaced they are the wrong size blade to begin with. The bed of the truck was dirty when we picked as well I did show the guy when we return it the pics we took. But we made sure it as clean.angela B.

The facility is horrible. It's at the payment booth of a gas station. The entire time I was trying to get the paperwork completed, the employee was diverted to take gas payments. Additionally, the station itself is shady. They seem to make most of their profits on single serve cigars used to roll blunts and glass "pens" and copper scrubbing pads used to smoke crack.Shawn B.

My original reservation asked for an 8am pick up and 17' truck but despite being changed to a different location 2 days prior to pick up, I was told pick up couldn't be until 10am. Additionally, when I arrived, I was told that the attendant's "big boss" was there and he had to pay more attention to HIM than me (these are virtually exact quotes), resulting in a ** twenty five ** minute wait to sign the paperwork & take possession of the truck. There was an additional wait required for the furniture pads previously ordered but not ready for pick up when I arrived. I repeatedly told the attendant that I was paying movers who were actively waiting on me to bring the truck and I was repeatedly told "I'm sorry, I just need five or ten more minutes because I have to get the money stuff together because he is my boss and I really have to do my stuff for him first." I ended up having to pay my movers for an extra hour because my 10am pick up turned into an 11:15am acquisition. Ultimately I was very disappointed with the procedure and process as it was handled and paid the price for it in more ways than more unfortunately.Joanna B.
