The rental location was clean and the staff was polite and informative. Their hours are limited - I had an early evening return planned and they close in the late afternoon so had to bring the keys then next morning. They do not have a key drop box because of theft and vandalism issues. They did not have the van I had reserved and instead offered me a small box truck at a higher mileage rate. i was offered the option to wait for the van to arrive but chose not to as I had people to meet to help with my move. The truck got me to my destination, where I stopped to get fuel. After fueling it would not start, although the dashboard lit up. The engine did not crank at all so I suspected either a loose electrical connection or a bad starter motor. Long story, short version, this took five hours to resolve. Five hours of me sitting on the sidewalk waiting for two different repair people to install a new battery, a new starter motor, and new electrical connections. I felt both repair people were prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable, but this delay caused serious disruption to my planned move that day and I was left wondering why U-Haul allows trucks with such serious deficiencies to go out on the road. And why they choose to repair them on my time. Do they not do inspections before they issue them? One mechanic told me that unscrupulous people will rent trucks just to strip them of their good parts and replace them with old and worn parts. He suspected that is what happened in this case as the battery was not standard and the starter motor wiring had been done haphazardly. He added that this "happens all the time." Which again begs the question, if this is a common occurrence, it doesn't appear that U-Haul inspects their vehicles before letting them out on the road.
William RWaited 20 minutes to be seen by a check in staff since he was cooking for customers. They added safemove insurance without informing me and extended my booking time without my consent.

SARAH PI wish I had been able to check in ahead of time (enter my drivers license number, etc) but I couldn’t find a way to do that in the app until 15 minutes before my reservation and I got a push notification. Additionally, none of the moving supplies (dolly, moving blankets) I reserved were available at the location I was picking up from but there was no way to find that out until I arrived.
Courtney OI will use this cafe again for renting a U-haul. It was fast and convenient, and the service was polite and friendly.
Michael SEverything about this experience was a 10/10 except for the fact that I reserved my vehicle from 11am until 7pm on a Sunday, only to learn (upon pickup of the vehicle) that the location closes at 4:30pm and there is no Dropbox because of burglaries. This mean I have to go back at 7am tomorrow when they open, a huge inconvenience that I need to facilitate on a Monday morning back to work. Please U-Haul, if a location doesn’t have the hours available for the slotted reservation time, please say so! I would have moved my schedule around and picked up earlier on Sunday (in order to be back by 4:30 that afternoon) so as to avoid what is already going to be a tough Monday … even tougher.

Madison PI didn't feel respected there as a woman. When I returned the vehicle, I took a male friend. The manager refused to check the truck, which I cleaned from the previous driver or check the mileage when I returned it even though he had no customers at the time. I still haven't seen the update receipt with the correct mileage because of his passive-aggressive sexism and refusal to check it. I guess he wants to cheat me of my funds, too. Any women who rent from there, I would tell them to go with a man.
Edissa NI had a very pleasant experience. The gentleman at the counter was very nice. He had the vehicle ready for me when I arrived, he was ready for me even a little early! That was really appreciated since it was raining and I knew traffic would be bad. The van was nice--very clean, and it was a hybrid so used only a little gas. Since it's a newer vehicle it was fun to drive. The only slight downside is I should have clarified before leaving where to park the vehicle at the end of my rental. The location doesn't have a parking lot, and it's on a busy corner, so I should have asked before my rental where to park when returning. But other than that it was a perfect experience!

Rebekah OExcellent service! I’ve used uhaul van rentals many times, at many locations, and Shalom’s was BY FAR the best experience by leaps and bounds. So quick and easy, pleasant, clean, flexible, easy to reach a human, etc. and food and drinks right there too for your road snacks ;)
Corinne SIt was difficult to use your app. It would not complete a request, only a few steps, and then it would start over. I had to call the location.
Latania MParking brake broken and mirror adjustment gear missing/broken. Windows we're very dirty --- difficult to see mirrors through side windows. Location is very convenient and staff friendly.
Jarred MFirst of all I had booked the rental for another location and never received a call or email that the van would be at this location. Arriving at this location there was no obvious sign it was a UHaul pick up point. Walking inside the "cafe" it was pretty clear I was not welcome. The furniture pads I had ordered were not there, the van was filthy and the gas tank was not full... leading me to over fuel the van before returning it. The online booking system failed.

Dominique PJust 12 hours later, I received a bank alert that several suspicious transactions by U-Haul were charged to my credit card, but I only made one for the van rental this morning. They found that one transaction was made by a tire company based in Arizona, immediately reminding me of the truck license plate that I rented from U-Haul this morning. It was from Arizona. The bank anti-fraud personnel also told me that my U-Haul bill this morning was the only suspicious transaction that they could find. I have not done any other in the recent days.
jun lOn pickup, my credit card was charged but the store owner couldn't see that reflected on his app. I had to call customer service 3 times before that was resolved. As a result, my pickup was 2 hours later than I had reserved it for, and my credit card was also charged twice for this transaction, so I still need to dispute the first charge with my credit card company.

Oshan CI ordered pads and a furniture dolly. they were not available at this location and I was not informed until arrived. I had to drive a dew miles at $.79/mile to get pads and a dolly. I should have been called so I could arrange that ahead of time.

Nitin NWe didn't realize the shop was open ,so we waited a while and called UHAUL to see if we had the right location. However, upon looking more closely into the shop, it was clear that the place was open and ready to serve us with extreme politeness and good customer service.
Natalia BHave the tank full from the start. My van was at half and it is hard to gauge how much has been used. I ended up overfilling and know I won't get my money back. Otherwise, the van was nearly new and very clean. Easy in person check in and out.
Marla DYou changed the location of my pick up to a place I could not get to easily. I had to cancel the reservation and book somewhere closer where I couldn’t even get the van for a 24 hour period which was my original booking. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with uhaul. I was told my reservation didn’t qualify for the guarantee even though someone unilaterally changed the location. No one called me to check if it was fine to change the location to miles away. I was also told finally I would receive a $20 credit via email for my trouble. I never received it. Awful awful service.
