I requested a different location and was told my equipment had been given away. I was reassigned to this Howe St location which was an additional 45 minutes away. So I was then charged by the mile to get this truck to the location I originally requested and needed it. I had reserved a dolly and was told at pick up that there weren’t any and told to drive to yet another location to pick one up. The truck was dirty, the airbags didn’t work, and the driver side review mirrors didn’t move making them useless. The entire experience was frustrating, exhausting, and nothing as it should have been. I will do everything in my power to not use U-Haul again.

For starters I booked my truck in the Derby location. I booked it for 8am because that’s what time they open and I wanted to deal with a person face to face and not set up everything through an app. They call me 10 minutes after booking and said a truck wasn’t available that day in that location but there was one on Bridgeport Ave in Shelton for the same time. Perfect! Nope. I get to the Bridgeport Ave location for 8am. They are closed and don’t open until 9. I call customer service and they say I have to do everything through the app now for self pick up. So now I’m already running late and I get it loaded and I put my info for the app to tell me I’m in the wrong location. I asked customer service and they said I need to go to the Howe Ave location. I explain that’s not what I was told. I was told Bridgeport Avenue. So I head to Howe ave. It’s down a steep hill that had zero treatment done. The hill and parking lot where truck were located was a sheet of ice. I get the app open I now go through the prompts and told I need to now hike up a sheet of ice hill to get a key. I go up get my key and come back down. I open up truck. There was no blankets I had ordered in the truck. I called customer service and said they would remove it from the bill.The truck was full of chips and crumbs all over and the truck had no ramp. When I booked it online the photos had a ramp. I call back customer service. They say I need switch to another truck. So now I head back up the icy hill swap keys and slip and slide my way back down the hill to the death trap parking lot and finally get the truck I needed. Now I’m over an hour late for my pick up appointment. After that no issues except for when I received my final bill the next day. I was still changed for the blankets. So now I had to send more time on the phone for something I was told was already handled. I’ll never rent a truck from U-haul again. Worst experience ever. I’ll pay a couple more bucks and get one from Penske or Home Depot.

I received minimal service from the location I rented from. The truck was filthy on the outside and when I asked why I was told we don’t clean them. My husband asked to include rope in the order. Instead of telling him they had none, I found out when I arrived. Tried to sell a more expensive option which I did not want. Handed me a key and sent me out to find the truck. No instructions and the truck was not in the lot she sent me to. I did find it across the way parked do close to what looked like an abandoned loading dock. Had to step in a puddle to get in. I returned to the office and she did come out and say that was the right truck. She did not tell me I would get a text to confirm the license plate, when I got home the link was expired so I called the 800 number and lovey Leslie explained the dirty truck and the expired link, excellent service from her. I would use UHaul again but definitely not from that location. Drop off in DE was easy.

I order a furniture dolly and furniture pads and was not found in the truck but shows in my bill. I called costumer service but still was charged for that. Also truck was ok but transmission was jumping all my travel

The store was great, the clerk was great and friendly, the truck was in good enough conditionfor a U-Haul. The return process on the website is awful! Every time a submitted a picture it would tell me that another picture it was previously fine with was an issue. I must have taken 20 pictures of that truck. It needs to be fixed. Worst web app experience I've probably ever had.

Convenient location as always to drop off our rental. Drop off was during after hours so did not interact with staff. Drop off lot can be tricky for the large trucks with the center median hump. And for trailer returns that don't have much experience towing.

The location was good the Experience sucked I reserved the truck n Sunday Said to go to one location did not know it was unmaned Tried to log on through app Fir a hour called uhysl no help Finally got a call from the location where the truck was Wish to explain the process on the return that I take all these pictures and upload them would use the location again because it’s close to where I am.

The van was very dirty, inside and out. The driver's side door lock was loose making it hard to use. The van had a weird feel to it. Felt a little too flexible when not loaded. We were given $25 off for the dirty part but were charged for three days for a time we are usually charged for two-Friday noon until after close Sunday.

Clean out the trucks and vans better. I rented a U-Haul van and the back was not clean. It should be swept out and sanitized. The Shelton, CT location is convenient if you are in the Valley, but they really need a better location. They are currently on a busy street and the trucks are down the hill in a lot full of trash that is scattered everywhere. It doesn't give me a safe feeling when I pick up my vehicle.

When Home Depot would not rent a truck to me because my phone was too old for their rental procedure, I frantically begin calling places nearby. The U-Haul in Shelton was about to close, but he said he would stay open to allow me to get a truck. to my delight, The price was not only equal to Home Depot, but instead of getting an hours rental I got 24 hours. The only added expense would be the mileage, which was very little for me. Staff is very helpful and courteous, even though they were staying past the end of their workday to help me. The van was a good size and just what I needed and worked perfectly.

Everything was good except for the smell in the van that we rented. The clerks were professional and courteous and easy to deal with. The van was easy to drive and good for the job we had. The only drawback was the smell inside the van. We used some spray and were able to deal with it.

I booked my truck 6 days before my move. The day I showed up at the location in my city they said there were no trucks at that location and that the only one locally was a 25 minute drive away which wouldn't have been a big deal if I was informed in advanced and wasn't charge for the extra miles.

It was ok. We arrived to return the trailer after hours so there was no staff. It was odd that the parking area had an island in the middle which made it difficult to turn my truck around and I had to drive out in reverse.

First the truck was park all yhe way into the tree so i couldnt see the lic plates and then i was trying to check in and it took for ever and then to check the truck back in was worse it didnt let me take the picture of the truck the app kept on freezing up. The truck drove hard it was shaking and hard and squeaks a lot. Then i was told that i had 24 hours with the truck and then it says i was going to be changerd for another day. Because i didnt bring it back at 8pm. But again i will not be ording here again

Truck’s USB Port defective- had issues with USB Port staying connected when attempted to listen to my cell’s navigation system through the truck’s radio infotainment system- Truck tires’ warning device suddenly activated while on hway driving- Tires should overall be properly & routinely inspected for cistomer’s safety- thx you!
