Nice people but was changed for insurance when online I didn't request it. I wasn't ask at the dealer either. I was charged for a handcart and furniture wraps and didn't get a handcart or use the furniture wraps. They are refunding the 10.00 for the handcart and furniture wraps. If you look at all the rentals I have had on zauchat@ gmail.com and firstname.lastname@example.org you will never see me take insurance.Troy Z.

This was not my preferred location. For this location, the truck was sitting by itself in a field and away from any business. The business itself was easy to find, but the location of the truck caused some confusion.Gregory S.

My Uhaul broke down and this company came to tow it but I still haven't received my $100 cash deposit. I was told that I can't receive it until they can locate the Uhaul however I feel as if that's your responsibility and not mines. I just want my money back. Very poor service, very poor company. It has been a very stressful move and unfortunately I will never recommend this company to anyone.Shakala H.

Had to walk around a while before I found the U-Haul office. The truck I received was not cleaned well--there was small debris in the back including someone's dirty sock. I'm also frustrated because UHaul called me the morning before my reservation to say they did not have the truck I reserved available. They gave me a larger truck for the same size but it was much too big and I had to pick it up early at a less convenient location. They also didn't have the boxes or dolly I reserved available. Staff was helpful and reversed the truck so I didn't have to.Jessica D.

The trucks dash cluster kept going on and off. The battery went dead and had to charge it in order to return. We went no more than 100 miles and the dash cluster shows 655 miles. No way that happened. They charged me 78.95 for the rental when it's supposed to be 19.95 plus mileage. Not happyWILLIAM F.

I received an email the prior day guaranteeing that I could pick up the trailer in Hartsville, but they had none. I had to drive to Florence. You guys are jerks.Eddie R.
I did not have a problem with Sheppard's. My problems were with the actual uhaul company and the scheduling center in Savannah GA. I booked a 6'x12' cargo trailer for Friday morning at 9am. The uhaul website said the trailer would be at Knights Auto but they did not open until 10am. I showed up at 10 and the business was closed and there was no trailer there. I called uhaul and spoke with Steve in Savannah. Steve said there was a 6'x12' trailer at Sheppard's and he booked it for me while I was speaking with him. When I got to Sheppard's the trailer was booked to me at 12pm but also booked to another customer at 8am. I got to Sheppard's at 10:30am and the 8am customer had not picked the trailer up yet. Sheppard's called Savannah and spoke with Steve after calling the original customer to see if they wanted the trailer still. While I was waiting the original customer sent a friend to get the trailer before it was rented to me. After speaking with the Sheppard's employee Steve asked to speak with me and told me that I was going to have to wait another 2 hours for a trailer to be brought from Hemingway SC and they were gonna my to give the trailer on site to the customer that showed up 3 hours late. After advising Steve that all of my problems were with uhaul and the other customers problem was showing up late he decided to make the other customer wait for the trailer from Hemingway. Steve also stated that I would be credited the $50 equipment rental fee because my equipment was not where I was told it would be. My experience with uhaul on Friday July 31, 2015 was extremely poor and as of now I would not recommend the uhaul company to anyone. Sheppard's Truck Rebuilders did a great job with getting the matter resolved as best they could. Their only hold up was UHAUL once again.KALEB C.

Despite my issues with equipment, I can say you have very friendly staff at each location I worked with. However, despite their best efforts, it is the equipment I paid for that did not work that has caused me to question why I spent so much money.ROBERT R.
This was the worst experience I ve ever had with U -- Haul. I had a reservation for a truck 2 to 3 week before I was to depart, Uhaul called me 1 day before my rental which was the 1 Oct 2014, to say that didn't have the truck I resered, I. Was so disappointed they sent me to Sheppard they didn't give me a contact, now I get to Memphis turn the truck in early, first they said the gas level was good, the lady said I put note than I was suppose to, went inside the guy said I was 30 gallons low I went and put $30 Gas, he had charged my card $122, then he cancelled it, after that he said I was over in miles, was charged $59. I know from Florence Sc to Memphis is only 676 miles, these U haul people say I drive 993, that's insane, Now the General Manager is suppose to call me because about ny complain, I will never again in life deal with U Haul,LISA J.
I picked the truck up at Sheppards Friday morning and called them to let them know I was running late for the return trip. They told me to bring it back there, lock it, and drop the key in drop box on door. I returned the truck that evening inside Sheppards gate at 7:15pm. The next morning I got a call from a rep at the local U-Haul center on Irby street, wanting to know when I was going to return the truck. I told him it was at Sheppards. The rep copped an attitude because I didn't return the truck to the U-Haul center on Irby. The following Monday, I called Sheppards and they said I did correct to return the truck there. The folks at Sheppards were nice and pleasant to deal with. It seems as though there needs to be a better understanding about where the truck is to be returned. Also, I've asked for a receipt and I got one that had $0.0 on it. I need a receipt for my rental with the actual charges for reimbursement.Roger H.

It was in the back of trucking co. the woman in charge was over worked with all she does and it took for ever to get out of there. I was lucky a uhaul rep showed up and took over but I was there 45 min to get paper work done just crazy. Her name was marcelRowe J.

I had ordered furniture blankets with my original reservation. They had no blankets. I had to go to the U-haul center afew miles down the road to get my blankets at the. I would have rather picked up the truck and other items at the service center.David R.
i was not very happy about being charged a flat rate and gas and milage. i was charged over $56 for a 2 1/2 hour rental. i think this was just a little to expensive.Emily S.
When I arrived and showed the personnel my reservation, their response was that my reservation had been changed earlier that morning and there was no truck available for me. There was confusion on their end and it appeared that the company had a previous issue with U-Haul on a previous reservation. I did not receive any notification of a change in my reservation and the personnel at the company did have a truck that they ultimately rented to me. The lady at the company apologized for the confusion and it was obvious to me that it was U-Haul Company's mixup and fault and not theirs. You need to get to the bottom of this and prevent it from happening again. I have rented from U-Haul over a dozen times and this is the first time I have had any problems. After driving 3 hours to the pickup location, I was not happy when I was first told I was at the wrong location. U-Haul Company needs to communicate better to the companies it uses.David P.

You need to have routine maintainance performed on a regular schedule for your trucks. My rental brokedown and once repaired would not run fast enough to continue on the interstate, had to use backroads which caused mileage to exceed contract. No refund given, extra mileage charged.RAYMOND G.
I was never given a call to confirm my reservation so I had no idea where I was to pick up my truck. We went to the U-Haul location that was closest to our storage unit where we were picking up our load. They said the reservation was not there and sent us to where the reservation was at. We go there it was a filthy repair shop. We had to sit and wait while the gal that check us out finished her paperwork which I felt was very rude. Then we were directed to the truck and she pretty much said here it is and sent us on our way. The truck was filthy!!!!! The back had not been swept out and was full of trash, the front had been smoked in and smelled awful, if it weren't that my husband was driving I would not have been able to been in the truck as I am allergic to smoke. There was trash everywhere, dirt all over the floor, looked like someone spilled something all over and did not clean it up, It was disgusting! I do not feel that type of location needs to be renting trucks, especially when there is a U-Haul dealer not but less than a mile away. I think we are due a refund for all of our trouble!Mellisa W.

I had to wait awhile on someone to do the paperwork whih set me back on time and plans.I also think all costs should be explained online beforehand.Like the insurance on the truck and the deposit on the storage.these were unexpected and really hurt my budget
