When we arrived onsite the pick up truck reserved was not available. They were able to accommodate a moving truck instead but could not accommodate the price of the reserved vehicle. In addition, the moving truck was dirty.

The key was not in the lock box. Had to get help from shopper, they were not open yet. Had to wait for some one to let me in and that I still took an hour for me to get the truck keys. The whole time waiting on hold with U-Haul customer support. Lost and hour and half of time waiting to get keys.

This location is not very familiar with the uhaul system. They don't all know how to make reservation changes and renter detail changes. There isn't always someone there familiar with connecting and disconnecting the trailers. I've rented 12x6 trailers there 2 times in the last 2 weeks and on both occasions the person (a different person on each occasion) was not familiar with the equipment. On this last rental 10/22-10/24, I drove three hours at night on both the 22nd and 23rd and realized after my drive on the 22nd that i didn't have running lights. When I picked up the trailer, we checked the brake and turn signal lights, but not running lights. This is something I would expect an experienced location would know and I didn't think about it because I rent a trailer, say every 10 years or so. This is a serious safety issue. When I reported it i got, "I'm so sorry, I'll note it in the system." I said, you jeopardized my safety and the safety of my family and you're putting the next renter at risk and I get an I'm sorry and you're going to take a note." and I got a, "What do you expect me to do?" I expect a full refund and for you to remove the trailer from service until repaired.

Not very friendly. I understand that they were very busy. The guy was the cashier and was in the middle of helping a customer. He saw me standing there and looking at me and gave a shake of his head, like, what?? So I said I needed the uhaul person. He said... keys. Not ,are you returning keys? Just ....keys... I handed him the key and he placed them in his pocket and continued with the other customer's items. Nothing more. No thanks or assuring me that he will take care of the key. No ...that's it,or, I'll take care of the key. Nothing.

Shoppers Supply Gilbert location has a 24/7 drop off box and 3 keys on the north side of the building. I was offered $30 off my uhaul reservation if I picked up from here. I had a 7:30am appointment and was unable to access the keys, after waiting 30 minutes online with customer support I was advised the location is NOT 24/7 and the representative from traffic flow should have not switched my reservation if I needed it at 7:30am. The best solution given to me was wait until 9am when the grocery store opened to physically be handed the keys. This pushed back the entire agenda for the day, resulting in loss of movers and having to move everything by myself. The uhaul associate within the store was helpful and I do not blame them at all. However, traffic flow needs to not redirect pick-ups at this site if the keys will not be put in the lock boxes. I had the day planned to the minute and it made the entire day painful to move in arizona heat in the peak hours of the day. I am leaving this review as a two star due to the negligence of the operator's knowledge of this location, or the system allowing time slots before 9am. Either way this is unacceptable and needs to be reviewed to see what was the root cause defect.

I forgot my water bottle in the car an the gentleman who was working, made the trip out to the uhaul in 110 degree weather to look for it. He then met me at customer service to give it to me as soon as I got there. Water bottle in hand! Great customer service!

I was unaware I needed to return the truck through the app. I dropped off the keys, the young man at the counter said he would 'check me out' on the return. I called some hours later when I noticed the truck did not reflect being returned. I then realized I could have returned the truck via the app, but was now unable to (needed to be located the the truck due to GPS). The young man said he would try to get to it that day but if I saw it was not returned the next day to call back ??? I drove back to Shoppers Supply, the keys were sitting on the counter, I proceeded to return it through the app.

I booked my rental at my desired location. You confirmed the location and the availability of the equipment. At the last minute you changed the pick up location, adding two hours of travel time. When I got to the new location the equipment wasn't available, delaying me even further. (as a side note, your customer service line told me the new location opened at 1p. When I got to the location they told me they opened at 8a).

Trailer was missing the electrical wire from the trailer to plug into the towing vehicle, so had to take one from another trailer. Also, trailer electrical plug had some wires exposed and lights would not stay on consistently so had to electrical tape to make it work. The employee at Shoppers Supply UHaul connected the trailer to the vehicle, however, only got about two miles down the road and the trailer disconnected from the vehicle because the employee did not screw the handwheel coupler down so it came loose from the hitch ball. Had to reconnect in the middle of the road.

My U-Haul experience was a particularly bad one unfortunately. Firstly, I was not able to get my truck until an hour and a half after my reserved time. This doesn't seem like a big deal, until you take in to account that we had 25 people sitting on their hands waiting to help us move with nothing to do. It was a huge inconvenience for many people. I had reserved the truck at 7:30 AM with an online checkout process. I showed up early and tried to start to checkout on the app that I had already downloaded the night before. It didn't show that I could check out online. I looked everywhere on the app with no luck. Thinking it was just not available until the pickup time I didn't fret and waited until 7:30. When 7:30 rolled around, pickup was still not available on the app even though I could see my reservation. That is when I decided to call U-Haul and find out why. I waited on hold for 30 minutes. I had no other option but to simply wait. After an agonizing 30 minute hold knowing people were waiting for me in the hot sun, a computer voice came on the phone and simply said goodbye and hung up. I was furious. Again I had no other option but to call and wait again, this time for 25 minutes. At the end of that hold time I finally was able to speak with an agent with an "I don't care" attitude who informed me that I wasn't able pick up the truck with the app because I wasn't signed up for online pickup. "That's just what I have on my computer". No apologies just facts. Mind you, this particular location wasn't open until 9:00 and I had rented the truck at 7:30 knowing the only way I could pick it up was through the app. I had specifically choose online pickup. So, I angrily told her I would wait until 9:00 to get my U-haul truck. When 9:00 rolled around I went in to the shop where I found during checkout that they didn't have enough moving blankets that I ordered. Funny part was that even when they removed the blankets from the reservation, my bill ended up being 50% more expensive than what I was quoted when I reserved the truck. Again the answer was "that's what I have on my computer". I showed him the reservation with the reserved price, but it didn't matter. Being in a hurry I paid the more expensive reservation for a late truck with fewer blankets because my poor movers had already been waiting an hour and a half, and was on my way.

4 x 8 trailer we received had 2 bald tires, we were not aware of this until one of the tires blew out on the interstate, when service got there to change the tire that blew he noticed the other one was getting ready to ( wires) were already showing

I Sistine 5 stars because I was double billed. The rental site couldn’t solve the issue and I was given a 1-800 number to contact the national U-Haul You all know how that usually goes. 1 hour and several bot conversations later I finally spoke with a live person who could help resolve the billing.

Both the one that checked me out and the one that took me in were different guys but they both did an incredible job. Very impressed, they are extremely well managed young men.

I needed a reservation for 7am. I called a particular location to confirm that they opened at 7am, which they did. I scheduled the reservation for that location. Uhaul moved the reservation to a different location 1 mile up the road. I didn’t think anything of it until I showed up at 7am to find that the new location didn’t open until 8am. Also, the mobile app would not allow me to pick up the truck. It told me I had to call an 800 number. I called them and they didn’t know what was wrong. They said the location down the street had a truck I needed and they transferred the reservation there. (That was the original location that I had called and thought the reservation was at.). I show up there and they tell me that they don’t even have that truck. What?!! They said I could go several miles away (this was not an option based on my location and limitations on time when turning the truck in) or wait down the street where the reservation was. My best option was to wait. I had contractors set up at certain locations and I needed to use the Uhaul to get equipment to them. In the end I was almost 90 minutes behind schedule. The whole rental experience was a disaster. To top it off, the 800 number told me that I would be credited $50 on my rental fee due to the above mentioned problems. I got my final bill and there was no credit. Again, not a good overall experience.

You motherfuckers were supposed to have a truck ready for me before the store opened at 8:00 in the morning and somebody at the store fucked up and that truck was not available which cost me $150 worth of mover time when they sat around and did nothing for a whole fucking hour and my $75 an hour wage because I had to be late for work for an hour you fucking pukes. You should all kill yourselves because you're fucking worthless I do my job I expect other people to do their motherfucking jobs.

The U-Haul had a lot of dents the parking gear it’s shakes because it’s not stable so it looks like it’s ready to break off. The cost of the U-Haul has gone up like 500% are used to pay 1999 and 29 $.39 a mile and the cost that you’re charging this will be my last rental. It was ridiculous for how bad the vehicle ran looks and is it’s got dents and dings and weathered and very very old.
