Attendant was rude about equipment not being there, even though my husband was friendly and polite and a little late to pick up (even more reason that equipment should have been ready). We had confirmed on-line the day before. The “guarantee” is a joke. They said we'd have to call corporate and complain, which we did not have time to do. Then they did not check the trailer— it had blankets in it from the prior customer, plus one of the tail lights did not work properly. Won't be using them again.

Our equipment was initially given to someone else. My husband showed up to pick it up, on our appointment time, and was told we would be called when the dolly was returned. We did not get that call; had to call the dealer back myself, the next day! At this point, he was rude to me and I felt myself having a lack of trust for the equipment we were renting, because I know he is upset at us at this point, despite the situation being 0% our fault. We finally picked up the dolly and both fenders we cracked and almost broken off. One of the brake lights didnt work and the cable connections were all worn and bad, so we could not get the lights to stop blinking as we were driving. We had no other choice but to just get to where we were going.

Truck interior dirty, dusty luckily I brought my own disinfectant spray. *** A week later and I have NOT received by e-mail a receipt as promised *** Truck was not available at time slot reserved. I received no less than 15 calls that morning from Wanda notifying of such.

I turned my equipment at 10:11 am and was unpleasantly surprised to see an emailed receipt that indicated that I returned the equipment at 1400. Obviously I can't trust this location anymore!

All rental companies, and in business I have used them all, neglect to sufficiently clean the inside of the windshield. As a result, when driving into the sun you are blind. Clean the inside of the windscreen.

On line self check in process takes 30-45 minutes with the biggest delays being the picture taking of vehicle plates front and rear, and drivers license front and rear then transferring photos to computer and uploading files. You still have to go into building to do paperwork and get someone to hook up equipment so there is no time savings

I'm pretty sure that the gas tank was not full when I picked up the truck. I drove a total of 11 miles. When I filled the gas tank before I returned the truck, it took 8.09 gallons of gas, at a cost of $24.67. If my math is right, that would mean that the truck gets 1.36 miles per gallon. Seems off to me. I think I got ripped off a little bit.

It's not the locations fault. I was shocked to see that U-Haul could just change my reservation at their whim without me having any choice. They changed my reservation from 9 To 9 AM for 24 hours to 9 AM to 5 PM. This addEd a lot of stress to my move. Then I went to call And none of the numbers allowed you to leave a message.

Th reservation system was a bit confusing. The website allowed for early morning pickup but the physical site did not the means to accommodate this. After many phone calls, we came to an acceptable agreement. No problems and all was well!

The reservation process for an auto transport trailer was rediculously cumbersome.

Remove this location or remove all employees so peoples lives are not put at risk during a pandemic. I have been a loyal customer for over 25 years and have never been talked to nor treated the was I just experienced! Also accused of doing something that was not possible in there packed parking lot! The manager or worker also scared me. I'm sure it's on video and will also show them not wearing any PPE to protect people's lives? After he was done chewing me out I told him don't worry I will never use U-Haul again. I dint even have time to put my mask on I think? I am pretty sure I did? I usually always wear it in any public setting or where it's mandatory by law. When renting at the counter please ask for video footage and you will see me being helped with without PPE or plexiglass also multiple customers not wearing any. He also started helping who seemed like his friend who was the 3rd person coming in and stopped my rental process. I was also given a community pen to sign paper work. I was just at uc Davis the day before and there was a clean pen jar and dirty pen jar for everyone's safety. I know theses are hard times but I did not deserve to be treated like that in the parking lot. All I said was you scared me like a ninja and ok plus I will never use U-Haul again! I think I'm the past 5 years I have over 20 transactions?

Uhaul is a absolute nightmare. What a upside down mess of a business! You got our first reservation all wrong. The next reservation we made was somehow for a place no longer in business... Then the next reservation didnt know who we even were when we got to the rental lot! And because we were 20 mins late they gave our reservation away already! When they didnt have the equipment on sight!! And you reserved it to someone else anyway!!!!! I was supposed to get a tow dolly on my original reservation.. that never happened. I went to multiple lots for multiple reservations each time they didnt have the equipment i had reserved. This was a 3 day ordeal and set me back hundreds of dollars and nearly cost me a job and 2 months house payments had i not figured it out myself thru what must have been 20+ hours on the phone making complaints demanding refunds (they gave me 50$), a slap in the face. Horrible awful experience. You dont know where your equipment is, or how reservations work. 0/10. Two thumbs down. Would not recommend. And will highly discourage anyone from renting from this business. Sure you're the cheapest, and this must be why!

You can not abruptly cancel their reservation a few hours before it without notifying them at all. Then when they call to find out why there reservation was cancelled, actually have an explanation other than the “computer isn't working right”. Then don't tell them that you don't have a truck the size you reserved today (which was guaranteed), but we have a larger truck available today and you have to pay for the larger truck price despite it being guaranteed that the smaller less expensive, truck would be available.

Where should I begin? I booked a hotel because my reservation got switch the Sunday morning , I got a call Saturday around 1:15 saying that I could get a truck and trailer that I reserved but I had to go to Grassvalley! I lost 75 bucks on the room , I drove 1 hour to the location I was very nice and thanked the guys there just to get a bogus trailer that had a flat tire ! They charged me 20 bucks to load the car on the trailer and was joking about who would do it ! I later found out why ... why you ask ? Because I had to stop in the middle of nowhere off the 5 freeway because the tire was almost flat ! Along with the fact that they were all laughing before I pulled off , and this was after they told me they usually don't Help with trailers which I found out isn't true ! They were laughing because I almost died !! The car was swaying back and forth until a truck driver pulled me over on the road and said there was no way my car was on the trailer correctly! But I told him “ he must have been mistake because uhaul Staff actually did It “! After almost hitting two diesel at 3am I decided to check and that's when I realized the car was barley strapped in ! When I arrived at the Cherry location in Long Beach CA, Ramon who works at U-haul said it was a miracle I didn't lose my car on the road because it was barley hooked on the back . It was a joke ! Racist Grassvalley punks ! I felt it but couldn't imagine them having that much hate in their heart ! Racism is real and if your a person of color never trust anyone in Grassvalley ! Racists assholes ! Laughing like it's a joke and I'm being super polite as if they were doing me a favor ! “ one of the guys said “usually we don't do this “ ! Do what ? Barley strap a black guys car down because you a racist asswhole ! U-haul is a great company but has no quality control! If your a person of color watch where you pick up from because clearly racism extends far beyond A joke ! I could of been seriously injured of seriously injured other ! But there is a God and he is real ! No weapon formed against me shall prosper! So please tell the guys I made it ! Despite their best efforts ! Please tell them if you want to try to be sneaky don't get caught by another U-haul employee who asked me “ why did you hook up your car like this “ ? We're you trying to lose you car? U-haul is cool as a company I'm sure .. but you guys may be to big to control the HATE IN SOME PEOPLES HEART !! Peace !

Everything was pretty good except for Ryan, the "manager". First off, there were three gentlemen working in the office. NONE were wearing masks. Second, after I told Ryan, the person avail to help me when my turn came, that I was a little behind schedule to meet the movers at my mom's house, he not only moved no faster to serve me, he actually slowed down. He said he had to "check the truck in" before he could check it out to me. As he walked out to the lot, I stepped out to let my wife know what was happening. When I did, I saw Ryan had stopped to chat with gentleman driving through the lot in a pickup. I stopped and stood watching him. He looked at me, finished his chat, and continued on to the truck. There he sat in the driver seat for 2-3 minutes. I know this doesn't sound like much. However, I assume he had to check the mileage and the fuel level. How long does that take? Maybe he was doing data entry, which would take more time. I admit that I was already perturbed about the masks, the chat with the guy passing through, and Ryan's generally unfriendly, surly demeanor, so that made the minutes drag on. Once back inside, Ryan sent a link to my phone to have me take pictures of my ID. As he did this, another customer came in. Ryan said "how can I help you?" The man said he had a flat tire. As I shot the pictures of my ID, Ryan, instead of telling the man he would help him after getting me on my way, Ryan walked out to look at the new customer's flat. I walked out, waited for a chance to speak, and said to Ryan, "I'm sorry, but I did say I was in a bit of a hurry." Ryan literally stopped and just stared at me, motionless and expressionless for several seconds. He indicated he would be in in a moment. I went back inside and waited. While waiting, I asked one of the other maskless personnel if I could have the name contact info for the manager. He pointed to the desk where Ryan had been sitting and said there were business cards there. They were Ryan's cards. When Ryan came back in, I asked, "You're the manager?" He replied, "One of them. Why?" I said that I was irritated with the treatment I was getting. He immediately complained about me "staring him down" as he was going out to check in the truck. I remarked that he didn't go straight to the truck, that he stopped for a conversation with somebody else, and then interrupted our transaction to look at the later-arriving customer's flat tire. Ryan asked, "What am I supposed to do, drop everything to take care of you?" I said, "Yes, as a person in a customer service job, that is what you do." Ryan added, I don't even work on the rental side. I work in the tire shop. I'm just helping out." He also added, "I don't have to rent you the truck." Asked, "Are you threatening me?" He responded that he wasn't. He seemed to be implying that I had the option of not renting if I was so upset with things. Obviously, that was not an option if I was to get my mom moved. All-in-all, the vibe in that shop was that they were doing us customers a big favor by renting vehicles and that friendly, efficient customer service is not necessary or in any way a goal or culture of theirs.

Biggest concern was the employee helping me hooked the safety chains up incorrect. He took a picture to "verify" the hookup. So it should be known to correct this improper action. I hooked them up correctly before leaving. However, he was very helpful and pleasant. Trailer hand wheel coupler was bent, it worked find but a little concerning. Wire plug was damaged but easily replaced before leaving.

Vehicle not available at pick-up time. Cleaning of the cab consisted of using a blower to blow dirt from one side of the cab to the other. No attempt made to clean windshield, steering wheel, or dashboard. Employees not wearing any face covering.

Have truck ready on time. Put dolly in truck so customer doesn't have to come back for it. Have moving blankets ordered actually available. Muscle Beach Movers were on time and excellent.

Not so much with the facility, but the company. I booked a trailer for another location and the morning of the pick-up (as I'm approaching the location), I see a phone msg from U-haul, stating that there was no trailer at the location that was previously confirmed the prior day, and that I would have to go to another city 2-3 hrs away. So I was late getting to my destination and the drop-off location closed at 5pm and I was late by a few min. So I go and try and drop it off in another location in the same city and the guy gives me a bunch of shit why I have to return it to the original location. I finally went to another location (co-located with a towing company, and told a tow truck driver I was leaving the trailer at his location whether he liked it or not. He let me put it inside his compound and said he would get with Uhaul the following day. I have not found another company that will rent vehicle trailers, or else I would have switched years ago. Terrible management!
