Do not change the pick-up location to Hampton Roads the day before! It is an hour away and across tunnel traffic. Also, it is not clear that the location had changed, just a different address popped with the check-in text message. I was not familiar enough with the address to recognize that it changed. I had to use the app as the location was closed and the app wouldn't work on the drop off so I had to sit on hold for an inordinate amount of time to make sure I wasn't charged for additional time or anything else since the U-Haul App wasn't working. I think a previous had moved a piece of equipment or a container contain gas. And the trailer smelled of gasoline. I was worried some of my gear may end up smelling like itâ€¦ Maybe not allow transport of such ? Or develop a cleaning schedule after each use ?ROBERT A.

Absolutely horrible experience from start to finish. Reserved a utility dolly, a furniture dolly, and 12 blankets. Was called to inform me that they were only able to give me 6 blankets and the furniture dolly. Then i reserved a truck for 6am expecting to be able to pick it up without the office being open using the online system. Online system did not work and was not able to pick the truck up at 6am. Another customer complained of the same problem when I went in to the office at 9am. Already was 3 hours behind on being able to get the U-haul, and then at 9am when I had to go into the office, the desk representative tells me that my truck has been relocated since I didn't pick it up at 6am. Spent another 30 minutes in the office waiting to get access to a different truck. I moved to Charlotte and almost did not make it in time to pick up my keys at my new apartment. The nice office guy at the new apartment had to stay late in order to give me my keys. Then the tank was only filled to a half a tank and I got charged $12.60 for a sliver of gas missing when I tried to fill it to exactly half a tank when I brought it back. That's a scam! If you over fill it you're obviously not going to get reimbursed and if you underfill it, I get charged a ridiculous fee. Fill the whole tank up before I pick it up next time. Absolutely livid with the service. Will never use U-Haul again and I will be suggesting other moving companies to others from now on.Luke L.

Have the equipment available that was reserved. It was not a good experience traveling 14 hours to pick up a prearranged piece of equipment to haul our belongings home just to find out the equipment was not available. Had to decide what to leave behind as we received a smaller piece of equipment that reserved and prepaid for. Horrible experience.Randy W.

The truck was in poor condition. The windshield was very dirty. The rearview mirrors couldn't be adjusted. The right rear tire had a warning of low air pressure. The agent said the tire air would be ok but within 24 hours it was so low that I had to phone emergency roadside services.DAVID F.
The location was great but the 24/7 option did not work. I arrived at 0790 to pick up my vehicle using my phone and it did not work. I tried the internet and it did not work. I had to wait until 0809 for the site to open to get my truck. It cost me valuable time and a lot of difficulties. Very disappointed in the 24/7 pickup!Marlin W.
