The equipment I reserved wasn't available. The rental location office wasn't open at the time advertised. The UHaul app to self-check in was slow and cumbersome. The rental vehicles were parked so close together I was unable to take good photos of the vehicle condition as required to check-in. That's the last time I'll go to this place.

AHMED OWe arrived at Smart Wash LLC to turn in our truck at 4:00 PM on the day we agreed to turn it in. We found a Post-It note on the door that read, "We're Closed". The hours showed that it was supposed to be open until 6:00 PM.. We locked the truck and put the key in the key drop. The next day, we found that we were charged for an extra day of truck use AND an "After Hours Service Fee". This is really poor behavior on the part of a U-Haul franchise. I immediately filed a complaint and it appears that I may get a refund.

Mark KThe furniture blankets I purchased in my reservation were never included inside the truck at the time of pick up. I was told to go to a different location which would’ve cost me more miles and gas. Unacceptable.

PAMELA SCab smelled like cigarettes, there was a cigarette butt under the drivers seat and a Fanta bottle filled with cigarette butts in the back of the truck. Otherwise drove okay.
Ryan FFirst, I filled out and paid for the trailer online and when I arrived had to go through the payment process again. What a waste of time. second, I asked for a pickup at one location and was moved to a new location twice and when I arrived they tried to get me to take a trailer larger than requested. They finally relented and gave me the a trailer one size larger than requested. The next trailer up that they tried to give me was a dual axel and heavier and larger than required for my move. I own a trailer that size and opted to rent from U-Haul because I wanted a smaller trailer for moving a small item. Finally, I needed a printed receipt and I failed to receive one at either the pick up or drop off location. I was told at the drop off that it was impossible for them to print one. How is that even possible? My experience was frustrating and lacked a satisfactory conclusion. While it seemed streamlined the process was fraught with time consuming glitches and a frustrated and disappointed customer in the end.
CHARLES NLocation was fine. The issue was with the mobile app. It took me 1.5 hours of messing around on the app to get the truck and it was a complete nightmare. Fix your application.

ANGELE VThere was so much to do when we got there. This would have been better to let everyone know that when using the self-service method, there is 15 to 20 minutes of time needed to complete the necessary requirements. I will not lie...it sucked, and please note, not all phones have cameras....
Paul PI was given a truck with a known muffler maintenance issue and the check engine light was on the entire trip. The truck was loud as a result of the muffler issue. U-Haul should have taken the truck out of service and fixed the issue before renting it to me. I was notified prior to driving it off the lot but regret taking this truck on our journey.
DAVID PThe app didn't work. Took 2 hours to finally get the truck. The drive was so brutal my shoulder and back are still in pain 3 days later. The truck did nothing but bounce around and jerk. Most of the items inside were damaged and everything had been thrown around. Had to hold my GPS with my hand because of how rough it was and missed 3 turns because of my GPS bouncing around the dash. Absolutely under no circumstances will I ever so much as consider renting anything from uhaul again!!!!!!!!

Mohamad AI didn’t know that my truck didn’t have a ramp. I rented it to move a piano, so I ended up paying $80 to rent the truck for no reason. The truck was clean, but the hood was taped with duct tape. The location was fine, but in the future I think I’d prefer to deal with a person rather than just the app.
Elizabeth CWe arrived for drop off after the site was closed. Fortunately a staff member returned to the site to pick up something he’d forgotten. Without hesitation he helped with our return. Above and beyond excellent service. Many thanks to two seniors who are very slow on the internet.

Sarah SI was "rented" a van for a few days. It took 4 hrs to rent, after the long wait, I was handed the keys to a horrible van with no gas. I asked to extend my rental in which I was granted. But the next day, I was told they were calling the cops to say I stole it. I was never given a receipt or signed anything to show I rented. So I returned to the closest U-Haul. Then they threaten to call the cops again because I didn't return to their U-Haul. I think I could have kept the van forever due to their mistake.
sally hThe tire blew out 3 minutes after pulling away from the location. We were then stuck on the side of the highway when we only had a certain amount of time to move. I ended up having to pay over $700 for movers today because it was so last minute. At this point I wasn’t even able to use the truck. I think a refund and some sort of compensation would be fair

victor gThe truck was cleaned and blankets were folded. Still charged the $25 and also the gas tank is very hard to read. It had more miles left to zero when dropped it off then when picked it up. What a rip off!!!!

Robert KHad a scheduled trailer drop off at this location. When I arrived the building was locked. After calling the company, I was told that there was no one available to help me and that I should leave the trailer in the back. This required me (140lb female) to unhook the trailer from my vehicle, and lift the trailer off the hitch and onto the ground. Unacceptable service and put me in danger.
Mikena LThe experience was fine..my only complaint is all the fees that are applied. The round trip rate seemed like a better deal when uhaul quotes me $95 if I returned the truck...but then all the sneaky fees are applied. "Bring the truck back anytime," they told me...surprise..just have to pay the $20 after hours drop off fee. Quoted $95 for the trip, ended up paying around double after fees. The one way trip would have costed the same and saved me alot of hassles. Be more transparent upfront!
Geoffrey JThere was nothing wrong with the pickup location itself, however, it was not my original pickup location. My original reservation was made for oconomowoc which is 40-45 miles from oak creek. Uhaul did nothing to make up for the major inconvenience, except give me an extra day to return which was not needed as the cross country move was already planned out with hotel stays and people on both ends of the move to help load/unload.
Paul AThe afterhours process of registering the dropping off of the Truck was actually something new that we discovered. Letting customers know that when it’s time to drop off a truck at any location during closed hours shall be notified of this process during Truck rental agreement would be very helpful!
