Kami SI previously had a bad experience renting a U-Haul from a different business and vowed to never rent one again. However I did decide to try again but with Smith's Rent-A- Car and I was very happy with the overall experience. Very good customer service, kind employees, clean blankets and a clean, well maintained truck. Next time a need a rental I'll go back there. Thank you for making my move hassle free.

RAYMOND LThe person helping me claimed he called 3x yet didn’t leave a message. He canceled my reservation but luckily he still had the trailer. Once that was sorted out he was completely unable to find the locations near me where I had dropped trailers off before. It was kind of incredible how bad it was.

ELIZABETH RCustomer Service was extremely lacking. When we picked up the truck, there was only one employee working. She was very overwhelmed, and consequently wasn't courteous. She was short with us and made us feel like we were a bother. We were told to check the truck ourselves without any direction. When we returned the truck, she barely spoke to us, and just told us to give her the keys and she would send us the final invoice. There was a headlight out (which we weren't aware of until we tried to drive it at night) and she didn't give us an opportunity to tell her that.
JOSEPH PI needed a cargo van mid-Saturday (good luck with that), and I called, and these guys had one available. Excellent, efficient service by both gentlemen at the front. I am sorry I did not catch their names. Easy to rent out, the van was clean, and easy check-in on return. This is my new go to rental spot. Give them a call when you need a rental without the hassle.

ANGEL CReceived the truck with 17 miles till empty. As soon as I left the check engine light came on. When I returned the truck, they asked if they could send me a receipt via email. I still have not received!
LOUIS VThe original location did not have the truck when I arrived at 7 AM. This was a huge inconvenience. It cost me over $300 of four moving guys that were sitting at my house for over an hour and a half with nothing to do. They did get me over to another location that didn’t open until 9 AM to pick up another truck. I have called and asked for a supervisor to call me for some type of compensation. I’m still waiting to hear from someone it’s Monday at 8:19 AM September 22. My phone number is 971–600–4740. I expect a call from a supervisor as soon as possible to rectify my losses from this situation.

ALFREDO Rmuy mala experencia en ese lugar no les puedo recomendar .la mujer que entrego la trocka no fue amigable y coperativa fue ruda y negativa y sin apollo , la entrega de la troca por dentro en la caja muy llena de polvo y sucia dentro de la caseta enpolvada y sucia todavia pude mirar arroz y chip del cliente anterios me di cuenta que no las limpias ni las aspiran en la entrega un joven que le entrege la llave trate de explicar el problema y no me quiso escuchar . espero que esto sirva para que mejoren el servicio ......

IAN TProvide the actual equipment requested. I rented a van and a dolly, pickup wasn’t at the location I had requested, had to drive across town to pick up the dolly it wasn’t in the van, still got charged those miles, the app kept saying my reservation was invalid, then my vehicle was ready for pickup.
Luke WTruck had an exhaust leak so bad that the fumes would overwelm you driving down the road. Store had concern when I mentioned the issue. I was only able to use the truck for 1/2 the time I reserved due to safety/concern for my family. Not Good.

DAVID BI wasn't asked/offered any ancillary items. Hand truck, 4-wheel dolly, blankets, etc. Weekend hours were extremely limited - they close pretty early. Renting U-Haul trucks is NOT their primary business - this is just an extra thing they can rent out.

MARY MtHE GAS READING WAS NOT CORRECT AND THE SELF CHECK-IN WOULD NOT ALLOW me to change it...I still came back with more in the tank than was required...you win again. Tanks should be FULL when picked up.

DANIA MThe truck had a bag full of trash in the back, and when I brought this issue up the woman there blamed me for not noticing it sooner… and was nasty about it. They fraudulently misrepresented fuel level, and the gear shift was faulty. Mostly, the woman who worked there was unprofessional, rude, and clearly couldn’t care less about customer service. There are several other locations nearby, including U-Haul, nearby, Recommend that U-Haul seriously considering retraining that woman or finding an employee with people skills.

STEVEN HIt would be good to have better signage about dropping off a truck after hours. And although this is not your responsibility, the camera on my phone is broken and I was left with no other option other than to leave my contract and key. I don't agree with having to pay $20 because I couldn't use the app. The personnel question is NOT APPLICABLE since I dropped off my truck after hours.
JEANNE DThe windows were very dirty and extremely hard to see out of. The truck was out of gas when I received it, so I had to drive immediately to the gas station. Once I reviewed the invoice I saw that I had been charged a rate of $1.09 per mile and when I originally called in to reserve the truck the gentleman I spoke with had told me that it was $.089 per mile.
JOAN NI am a regular customer at this small location, and I love it! It is easy and friendly, straightforward. I rent here once a month, sometimes several times a month. I would like to recommend that there be a way for the staff to easily know my rental equipment requirements & preferences since I rent here regularly every month. I ALWAYS need the larger RAM van with a sliding side door and always make my reservation a month in advance. Thank you!

KERRY CI missed the location because the Uhaul signage was not visible. I was on a tight schedule and had to go up the road another mile before I had a turnaround spot. When I arrived, no one greeted me and i had to find a pace to park in a 1 way environment where i didn’t know where I was. I parallel parked the truck with a trailer on a 1 way environment that I didn’t know was ok or not. The person I passed on the way in that worked on location arrived after my sketchy park job. Not sure why he watched me slowly drive by without waving me down or directing me what to do, but it ended up working out where I parked and what I did.

Nancy BThis location has minimal customer service. I rent a U-Haul van once a month and the location that I usually rent from - which is literally right down the street at the 'U-Haul Store (which is excellent!!!) apparently was overbooked and so my order was forwarded to this particular location at Smith Rent A Car. When I arrived, the office was closing and I was instructed by leaving staff to use the QR code check-out system. This system has some 'bugs' and one of them is that you are unable to adjust the YEAR of your license and birth without changing it BEFORE you enter the month and day - which it is not formatted to do automatically. Not intuitive. VERY CUMBERSOME! Additionally, the staff at this location DID NOT READ MY REQUEST. AND I ALSO CALLED and spoke to staff at this location IN THE DAYS prior to my rental pickup TO MAKE SURE THAT I HAD A VAN WITH A SLIDING SIDE DOOR, however when I finally checked myself out through the QR system, FOUND THAT THE SIDE DOORS WERE HINGED EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS AN AVAILABLE VAN DIRECTLY BEHIND MY RENTAL WITH A SLIDING DOOR clearly available. Additionally, the lockbox key checkout system at this location did NOT tell me which box the key was in so I HAD TO ATTEMPT TO OPEN 5 BOXES BEFORE THE ONE WITH MY KEY IN IT FINALLY OPENED - lucky box #6! I would like to recognize 'Chris', an employee of this location who appeared and was closing up and he stayed to assure that I was all set and offered advice to ASK FOR A 'RAM' brand van to assure I received a sliding side door if I should ever rent from this location again... WHICH FRANKLY, I prefer not to.

MARTIN SMy feedback is not for the location but for Ihaul the company. Nothing about my reservation was honored with integrity: U-Haul changed the truck size, the pick up location, the drop off location. They did not have the dolly I reserved. And it took about 15 phone calls to complete the process. I would not recommend U-Haul to anyone. Please improve your algorithm so that the reservation can be accurate.

GARY CDespite filling fuel level above where it was when we picked up the van, we were charged $9.38 for fuel. The receipt was sent from a "noreply" email, so I could not discuss this situation with Smiths Rent a Car in Santa Rosa CA. Staff wasn't very friendly.
