Truck was filthy. Probably never vacuumed. Chips everywhere. Pick up time was 9 am. The dolly was not in the truck so I had to wait for the owner to arrive. She finally showed up at 9:20, then proceeded to state that she needed a few minutes and locked the front door. She finally let me in and gave me the dolly. When I went to return the truck, there were no spots in the entire parking lot, both front and back of building. I had to wait to wait for someone to leave the local bar to find a spot. When I went in, the same woman was working and complained to me that I parked in the front. I told her that it was the only one available. Not very nice customer service.

Jason TDuring our rental period, we rented the truck at 7:30pm. We had the truck dropped off by 9pm and was charged for two days instead of one. When calling the location to explain how they over charged us, they young man on schedule was no help and had us contact customer service. The lady who helped us in customer service was great and very helpful. My issue was that the U-Haul location told us one thing and completely did the opposite. This was a huge inconvenience and will mostly likely never rent a vehicle from this specific location again.

paige lPicking up the u-haul van using the online process was extremely time consuming and difficult. It took a very long time to take photos and upload them. It was also a bad experience to have to provide 2 contacts. It is extremely inconvenient to those being contacted as well as to the person picking up the van. In addition, the van did not come with the furniture dolly we requested and I was charged for it anyway even though I entered that information in the online form. It took us almost 45 minutes to go through the entire process which cut into the time we had rented the van for. Even though the rental was a little cheaper than other companies, I don't think it was worth the aggravation.

Michael DMake sure the tires are properly inflated and the battery is not dead before renting vehicle. The tire pressure was 54, 57, 34, 75 psi respectively in the tires- This is not standard or good. I drove precisely 1.5 miles from UHaul pickup location when the battery became fully dead in the van and had to use the 1-800 go UHAUL Roadside Assistance number to remedy the situation— A hassle and inconvenience but also a safety & reliability concern. To not get even 2 miles down the road & be made to remedy the situation solo was crazy to me. If I was in the next state or 50 miles away fine, but this vehicle was defective upon pickup, but didn’t know until a mile+ down the road. Roadside Assistance was fast & local so I was able to get on my way quickly but I didn’t trust the vehicle to not breakdown again and the way over inflated tire and way under inflated tire made me super nervous on the highway.

HARRY HOther than your 3 questions, this provider overcharged me for gas level, even though I provided pictures as proof that the level was the same as when I rented. Plus, they charged my credit card for a rental when I have a $400 credit from UHaul. I asked when I set up the rental, when I picked up the rental and when I returned the rental to use the credit and not my card. They deducted from my card.
Tim HI reserved my uhaul reservation to pick up at another location that I was told does not have vans. I was called 1 hour before my reservation telling me a different pick up location that was inconvenient to my location. We had trouble with the lock as well. The uhaul people we spoke to were very helpful and patient.

Lisa KThe gas gauge on the vehicle was different than the paperwork I received (the email didn’t come through until I left the location bc there wasn’t an internet connection). When I returned the vehicle with the same amount of gas it had when I left the original pick up place, the uhaul store charged me $18 worth of gas even though I left it at the same amount as when I picked it up. What a scam.

Akosua WAfter years of using U-Haul, I may never use them again. This experience began poorly, but continues to snowball, and makes me want to go with another company in the future. 1. First, and this is the least important issue, the self-checkout didn't work right, so I had to go into the store to get a key. After I got the key, I was able to complete the inspection online, so this was a minor nuisance. 2. The vehicle had trash in it. I photographed some of the trash in the online inspection and took the van. 3. When I returned the vehicle, I was charged a cleaning fee for the trash in the vehicle. I had already noted that there was trash on the self-checkout, but I was charged anyway. 4. I was also charged for gas even though I had refilled the gas tank before returning the vehicle. 5. U-Haul sent an email with my receipt that included an email address for questions and concerns. When I wrote an email to U-Haul at that address, it was returned to me with an "address unknown" message. I tried to resend it, but the email is not working. U-Haul has been my go-to for years, but after this experience, I will look into other companies. I would rather pay more to an honest company than get quoted one rate and then get cheated with a variety of false charges that I can't easily contest because the email is invalid.

ELVON TSelf service while business is open 9-9. Self service is very slow to approve documents. Trick was dirty upon receipt and attempting to report that at return would add a 25$ cleaning fee to me. Vehicle had mechanical faults. Return process never explicitly said to return the key to lock box 1 but as that was where I got it from that's where I put it.

Ralph SYour website is a nightmare and took 35 minutes to check the vehicle out and 45 minutes to check it in. Absolute torture over and over again. The phone call to someone else to check out is ridiculous.
Ted MThe online portion to get the vehicle yourself without seeing anyone required so much more effort than just going inside and speaking to the gentleman. It asked me for a different contact person when signing up, and then wouldn’t let me use that same contact person for the verification process. Some people may not have three different people who are comfortable vouching for them, especially if they just moved. Also, you could put anyone’s name and number down, and pay them $5 and they will act like they know you. That part of the verification process is not the best and it made it way more difficult. I would have rather scanned in different types of ID. I also didn’t see why it was needed. You have my name, my phone number, and my license which has my address on it. You could easily find me if I don’t bring the truck back. I think if you required less verification, many more people would rent from you and you would make more money. Overall, the process was priced very reasonable and I would rent from you again. However, if it was after hours, and I had to do the online verification, I would go with a different company because their process online is so much easier and less of a hassle. The require two forms of identification and your address and phone number, but they don’t make you give them other peoples information to verify.

Dereck HI would actually train the people who are renting the vehicles to understand the pricing no matter how long you keep a vehicle and to be able to change the reservation directly with them instead of having to go to their supervisor at home.
Theresa BClean the equipment. I rented the truck and mud was in the bed. I took the truck because i was running late, and was only going a few miles to move a dresser. When I returned I was told that my receipt would be emailed to me.. I looked at my receipt this morning and saw that I was charged a clean up fee of $25 plus tax.. That mud was not mind and the truck had not been cleaned prior to my renting it.
