The whole process was very good even though I got stuck in the mud they had a tow company come out within 30 minutes and get the truck and load share trailer unstuck. I would recommend U-Haul to everyone!!!!!!

My experience began well enough because the woman who was working the desk at the time of our rental was very friendly and professional. She gave us lots of details including the fact that they were cameras available to make sure our return of the vehicle would run smoothly. We had the rental for 24 and a half hours. I was okay with the fact that we were charged for a second day. We only went between 1:00 and 4 miles over our estimated mileage. I was expecting at worse an additional $5. A couple days later I received $183 additional charge on top of the $125 I had already spent. I called somersworth storage and asked what had happened. At first I was told it was because I returned the vehicle three days late. I reminded her that like she had told us there were cameras. She said she would look into it and get back with me within the hour. I had to be at work in 45 minutes and tried to call back before I went to work. She repeatedly avoided my phone calls. Eventually I got through to her with my boyfriend's phone. She told me at that point that someone else had returned a van at the same time and I had been charged with their miles and possibly a late fee. She also informed me that there was absolutely nothing she could do about it and I had to call U-Haul to get the money returned. She gave me the phone number. I called U-Haul, and although they were very professional and nice and apologetic it's still is going to be 3 to 5 days before I see that money back. I'm in the middle of a move and just gave my new landlord $2,500. Which is basically all my available cash. I did not think to put the U-Haul on a credit card and kind of wish I had now because now my bank account is overdrawn and I still have two days before payday or the first day that it might possibly show The return of my funds. I have bills that are set to come out of my account at different times throughout the month and that is why I'm already at -$12 as of today. I'm really frustrated because none of this was my fault. I did everything right. Yet I am the one who will be paying overdraft fees, because according to my bank it won't matter if the money is returned the overdraft fees will stick. Also I am unable to continue with my move until I get paid on Friday like I had planned because I cannot afford the gas to get back and forth to my new place. And if I use a credit card then I have to pay the additional charges. So now I'm also going to be 3 days behind on my move. Although U-Haul is returning my money they did not offer to do anything to make up for this happening. Neither did Somersworth storage. No offer for a free day of rental, no offer for a future discount. No offer to return my money in cash. Just an oh well we're so sorry and will return that today you should see it in about a week. I can't even begin to explain how awful this whole experience has been. The U-Haul lady on the phone even so much as went to tell me to ask my bank to call them for verification and to return my money early. To which my bank chuckled. Yes that's not how the real world works. I am left with nothing to do but apparently contact A better Business bureau because if this is how people are treated then perhaps someone should be looking over their shoulders. Apparently I'll never see any reimbursement for the overdraft fees and the time that I've lost moving, but maybe it'll help the next person.

STEVEN ZU-Haul has the most incredible customer service for a company of its size and stature. There's a reason they're number one, and it comes down to how their staff treat their customers. We rented a truck for our music festival and the U-Haul agent was incredibly helpful in helping us secure the truck for the job. My checkout/truck return experience was equally as impressive. Thank you, U-Haul! We'll see you again next year (and the year after that).

The app shut down on me twice and then the online agent needed more verification information. And pictures of my license which could have been provided before the pick up in order to save time. Then the agent needed a phone to call someone to verify I was the one renting the truck. Awful process. Never again!

harry TJust continue to hire people like Megan that went above and beyond for me. I was moving but didn't have anyone to help and felt overwhelmed. She showed sincere empathy of my situation. She called around to see if anyone from specific companies might be able to help me with donating some of my items to helping me move & discard items, even before I got there to the storage unit! She just was proactive saying "anything we can do to help" and it showed in her actions. I also love that you allow your pets there who also make it feel less stressful when you have so much to do. Thank you again Megan, you really made feel seen and heard as a person. You are an asset to this company. I will be sharing this experience with others.
