U-Haul does not fulfill the terms of your reservation. I recently reserved a truck and moving equipment, such as dollies and furniture pads, and when I arrived to pick up everything on the morning of my move none of the moving equipment was there. Further, neither the employees at the location nor customer service took responsibility or tried to help solve the problem. I ended up having to spend $100 at a hardware store to buy the equipment necessary for the move and have not been reimbursed by U-Haul despite my request to the regional customer service manager. Also, to make matters worse, I had reserved a storage unit with them when the move was complete and was told at check-in that there were no units in the size needed for my belongings. I will never do business with them again.

Our *guaranteed* 9' van wasn't there when we arrived and the person inside just said "sorry, call U-Haul customer service" so we did and sat there for 30 minutes and nobody answered. I was FURIOUS that nobody was helping us and we were on a tight schedule. Finally someone came out and offered us one of the giant moving trucks which I'm totally not comfortable driving but we had no choice but to take it because u-haul wouldn't help either. Then they gave us like a $4 discount...never using U-haul again. They only get 2 stars because everything was very clean.

This is a terrible location. Absolutely the worst uhaul experience I've ever had. Truck was not ready, requested equipment was not available, staff was not friendly, helpful, or wearing any PPE. I wasted $150 in unused hourly wage on laborers who were sitting around without a truck to load because of the inability of this location to do their job. Uhaul needs to retrain or reassess their relationship with this location. They do a huge disservice to the brand. Please feel to reach out if you have any questions about my miserable experience.

I contacted uhaul about an important issue and got no response so far. I went through NYC “mail-in” tolls. How will they mail in my bill if I was driving a uhaul...also I no longer live at the address I was registered under, I am moving abroad, how can I take care of this issue???

The drop off was great, though I found the parking aspect confusing as I did it by myself because I did it after hours, I think closer to 9pm. Separate from the drop off, at the end of my journey with the truck, assistance had to come because the battery pooped out. It was supposed to come an hour after I got in touch with assistance, but an hour and 20 min in they still had not arrived, and I got a text from somebody in your company asking if I was helped yet. She then told me they arrived but said they couldn't get in touch with me, which she disagreed with because she easily got in touch with me, essentially blaming it on the driver. When somebody finally came, I was waiting by the truck, and he showed me that the contact number he was given was clearly not my number and it was a 1800. It finally happened about an hour after somebody was supposed to arrive. For the next customer, have the correct number on file. My dad had to drive back to Boston after helping me out and it made his long day even longer. Your customers' time is valuable.

The drop off we had selected in Manhattan was not able to accommodate our truck as it was too high. U-haul should know about this. When we got to the alternate location in Brooklyn there really wasn't any space to park the van properly.

I had a reservation and I called TWICE to make sure my reservation was respected and when I showed up they said the system made a mistake, double-booked the same truck, and gave it to someone else. Instead, they gave us a van and only an hour to complete the trip. Incredibly frustrating.

They are crooks, they never texted me the info when I asked what time can I return the truck they said anytime that it is 24 hours, when I got there at 730 pm I went inside and the guy working there said leave me the keys I'll check it in, never once did he say they would charge me 21 dollars if I didn't do it myself on the phone or give me the option and they put that I returned it at 9 pm which is a lie I have the proof on my phone and picture it was 730 pm.

I was charged incorrectly. My invoice is for 300 more miles than I actually drove. Spoke to manager he told me to dispute charge because it's my fault that I didn't read odometer before I left. Will never rent from uhaul again

I booked an 11:30pm contactless pick up. Was told when I arrived that was not possible and to come back the next morning at 6am. Got the truck the following morning, the gas tank was not full and it was filled with water and soda bottles. Not great

I arrived at 9:55am for my 10:00am appointment. I was told to talk to one of the workers in the trucks who wasn't wearing a facemask and told me I needed to check in with him. He went through a 10 minute process of "checking" me in. He asked if i wanted safe move in which I said no, the worker tried to convince me to get it (as evident in the final bill, he chose it anyway for me). Upon getting into the truck I was directed at, I noticed the indicator for the front left tire was on, checking the tire it looked low. When I told the worker this, I was told the indicator was broken and he refused to give me a different truck or look at the tire. I was finally able to leave at 10:15am (15 minutes wasted). Upon returning the truck after drive a total of 6 miles, at 2pm. I was greeted by a different staff member who told me I needed to full up the gas tank to more than I was given it at. I politely said that wasn't not the agreement I had with Uhaul and in the four hours i drove 6 miles. Nobody would inspect the truck upon return and I had to wait a week before I got my final receipt as Uhual had to look into this for me. I wouldn't recommend renting from this location

Easy check-in / return process, rented a car for 22 hours or so. Used the app to check-in. Had to ask where they wanted to park it upon return, but they were helpful inside. Would reccomend.

Not only the self-service never worked, but you also require random stuff, like a *passport*, without communicating this to the customer beforehand, at all. At least I was able to step into the store and rent the truck — but I didn't want to do this; that's why I had chosen self-service. What if the pick-up time was after hours? You realize that we pick certain time windows because of arrangements with building concierges, movers, etc., right?

Guys guys guys. MAKE THIS EASIER. it's crazy how difficult it is. Even with an international license (which is only ever problematic in the US and nowhere else in the world) how long does this have to take... it feels like we are in the 80's. Love UHaul... no complaints with the actual Trucks or service... but it shouldn't take 30 minutes to pick up a truck. Sometimes an hour. Especially when you've used uhaul many times before... my suggestion - stop trying to sell me storage and dolly's and make this check in and check out EASY and FAST

Stop using this location to rent your trucks from. I've rented vehicles there before. This was the last time. Customer service is atrocious. The guy in the store was so nasty. I left feeling so abused after I just rented a van for 4 hours and bought gas there. My recommendation for U-Haul customers is to find another rental location even if it means you have to drive another 30-45 minutes.

My only issue was when I got to the location for some reason the online pickup didn't work on my phone but the attendant was able to do it on his iPad. Other than that everything was fine

I wouldn't recommend mobile phone access/pick up. It was absolutely useless and frustrating and left us an hour behind. At the time of booking there needs to be more information around this and around the approval process for international drivers

I told the store clerk that I would return the truck at 11pm and she didn't enter it into the system and they charged me an additional fee without saying anything when returned the truck. Also, while I was in the truck another clerk came out with the keys to a different truck and told me the other clerk doesn't know what she's doing and that she gave me the wrong truck and they were lucky that I hadn't left yet. So I got a different truck. When I returned the truck a different clerk told me that I had 24 hours and he didn't bother to check the mileage. He didn't say anything about returning the truck late. Don't use this location,

The counter guy charged me 25 for insurance after I declined it on line and in person. He also gave me a broken dolly which he never refunded. When I called the office he said I was a liar. What a scammer. Never again.

This location is almost a scam. First, they tried to convince me I had booked the van with insurance which I'm sure I didnt. Then, I called them to ask them abou )t the return hours and they said it was 24/7. However, once I received the invoice next day I learned that between 5 pm and 8 am there is a $20 return fee because the location is supposedly our of business hours which is a joke because that location is open 24/7! When I returned the van I asked if I needed to do anything on the app and they said no that they would take care of it so I only needed to drop the keys. However next day in the morning I received an automated message from uhaul reminded me that I needed to return the van using the app (???), which made me realize that the person in the location had forgotten to process the return so I had so spend 20 mins on the phone reminding them to process it and then complaining to get my $20 fee back which I havent received. Awful experience. This location needs to be audited!!!

I tried to return the van. I only drove 12 miles. The owner of the gas insisted that I buy $5 of gas. I showed him the gas meter read above the full line, tipping past the line. He said you Drove 12 miles. Don't you think you used any gas? I said the policy is to bring the tank back full. It was full, but he insisted I spend $5 or he would not let me check in the van. I couldn't get more than $2 of gas in there and the van wouldn't let me put in any more. It was so cheap of him. Very cheap and petty. If he wanted $5 he could have just taken it instead of forcing me back outside into the snow, to put in two lousy dollars of gas. I wasted time and effort just for him to make a point. It wasn't even about the money because I offered it to him, he wouldn't take it. He just wanted me to go out and put the gas in for him. Incredible. Not a lot of time except it was snowing like crazy and my wife was waiting in my car waiting for this incredible waste of time to finish. I will never rent from you again. I would rather spend $50 more, than use you again. Renting a truck from a gas station is insane. I can't believe I was pushed around like that.

When I read the reviews, I was skeptical of what to expect, but the location was ideal so I took a chance. Other than the fact that their phone doesn't work (I wanted to let them know I was running late to pick up), everything else was a breeze. Very nice folks and simple check in and out. Perhaps things have improved, because I had a great experience. This will be the location I use often. I don't give a 5 very often.

The man who helped me was very nice, but the truck I reserved did not get returned so was unavailable. The first option they had for me was to rent a 15' truck,but the person before me locked the keys in the truck so I couldn't use that either. I then was offered a cargo van and an open bed truck. It was snowing/sleeting, so this was unfortunate, but I accepted since this was my only option. I was charged for the second vehicle and insurance. Also, I reserved shipping blankets and there were none available. Really disappointed in my Uhaul experience as a whole even though the person helping did all he could and was very nice.

The engine was running rough, felt like it would break down on me- it needs a tune up. The headlights are not safely aimed at the road, one is aimed up blinding people and the other is aimed way down. There's no indication that the high beams are on on the dashboard so I was doubly blinding people. I had an late night drop off and I was told to come inside and hand the keys to the person inside so that's what I did, but then I got an extra $20 “after hours drop off” charge when I got the bill the next day.

My issue concerns the Sonomax location/gas station. I rented a Chevrolet van at 10:25 AM and returned the van at 1:57 PM the same day. I drove the van 20 miles (5305 - 5325). I topped off the gas tank upon return at the Sonomax gas station. When I started pumping gas, I alternately glanced between the fuel filler area of the van and the gas pump. I noticed the Gallon/$ display on the gas pump seemed to "jump" inexplicably. I was charged for 4.531 gallons of gas. I'm 46 years old and have been pumping gas since receiving my driver's license as a teen. I do not believe 4.531 gallons passed from the fuel pump to the van's fuel tank. The pumping time was very brief. The fuel economy based on the amount of fuel I was charged = 4.4 MPG. I drove the vehicle in non-rush hour, moderate city traffic, largely on the Brooklyn/Queens Expressway (no traffic lights). I would turn off the van immediately after parking (minimal idling). Most people do not refuel a vehicle with a full tank after driving only 20 miles. This potential fraudulent activity would be harder to detect when fueling a vehicle with less gas in the tank..people are less likely to notice an extra gallon or two on a 15 or 20 gallon fill up. I can provide a scan of the Sonomax gas receipt if needed. Alternately, it is possible I received a van with less than a full tank, however, the fuel gauge read full when I collected the truck and my experience filling the tank of the van upon return seemed "off".

Have a place for me to park my car while using the UHAUL. And be clear about what the spot is and not tell me your owner was going to tow me for parking where I asked if it was ok to park.

UHAUL DROPPED the ball big time. Schedule and re scheduled me and left me with no truck for the morning. Ruining my day of moving that I should have been excited about. Once I found that this location would have the truck I headed over, and was greeted by a kind gentleman and his staff. Very quick and professional.

Could not have been a worst experience with U-Haul and the pick up location! 24/7 pick up option kept giving an error message; called U-Haul and was told I need to be near pick up location. Got to the location, same problem. The clerk at the pick up location (a gas station open 24 hrs) said I had to be here during “business” hrs to pick up. Spent 50 minutes on the phone with U-Haul to try to resolve. I want to be contacted by a supervisor!

Make sure you have enough trucks for reservations. When we arrived there was a van not a truck so we asked if we could take that for an hour. The guy working at the place said no at first and then said it was fine, even though I'd reserved for 3 hours. I brought it back on time and he told me I'd have to pay for another truck if I wanted more time.

Mobile express pick up does not work at this location and should not be offered. I spent two hours with customer service trying to gain access to the van I had reserved. Though ultimately successful, it was an inappropriate amount of time to resolve this issue.

I can't recommend this place because pick up process via the app and mobile didn't work. I was on the phone with service for 2 hours. Not solutions oriented- they just told me to keep trying again and if the app and site weren't letting me check in at the location there was nothing they could do. It took a regional manager calling the location manager 2 hrs later to get them to release the keys to the truck. It screwed up the whole night.
