I booked my UHAUL online for a Friday 03:30h AM pick up. On Thursday afternoon I received a call from a Sonomax representative who seemed confused about the timing of the reservation. I again verbally confirmed my intention to collect my UHAUL at 03:30h on Friday morning. When I arrived on Friday morning I was told I needed to wait until the representative arrived at 6AM. Representative arrived at 06:15 and I was on my way by 06:30. Not the end of the world. Just not what I needed on a busy day. Given this experience I will probably look to use someone else if I need another van.Ian Z.
There were a lot of problems regarding pricing. I was mischarged almost $1,000 total for a transaction that was meant to cost $59.00 plus mileage fees. I am very upset.JOHNH W.

This location requires a reservation through scheduling services. Worth doing this since uhaul doesn't honor reservations, otherwise! Made a reservation at a local location a month in advance and they didn't have any trucks the day of my move. I had hired movers and had to cancel them and pay hefty fees because it took 2hrs to get in touch w uhaul and get a truck. Nightmare.BRANDIJ M.

If a client is using the mobile option to check in, make it clear they still have to go in the store and speak to the gas station person to pick up keys and review info. when offering the mobile check in option you make it sound like there is no need to go in the store. Why would i do the whole mobile check in with a person in India verifying my info when I have to go in the store and speak to someone after as well...?Ludovic T.
The fact that I had to return the equipment and could not drop it at another location was a real bummer. Especially when you still have the option available on the website. Definitely not something you expect when planning a move. Just for that alone I would bring my feedback down to 1 star out of 5. The PU location was great! I wish I could give a separate feedback to U Haul, which would end up being 1 star for the inconvenience. Boooo! Would not recommend. You could have easily incorporated the additional fee for returning the equipment, since everybody was looking for one way trip option. The original location chosen the week of did not have the vehicle i had reserved available. I was given the choice of two other locations 20 minutes away (by car which most of new Yorkers do not have). In addition to this I had to pay the miles to drive the vehicle to my pick-up location and back to the more distant location. The intention seems relatively straight forward and the process, in theory, is fairly straight forward. However the direction to pick up and return the vehicle is not clear. Any tech issues experienced at pick up you will have customers feel abandoned by uhaul becuase there is no contact there to actually help override the issue. The gas station attendant was kind enough to help in my case. My intention for the above is to share my genuine and direct feedback directly with the company. I will not be posting this review elsewhere.Filip S.

The gas station attendant wasn't wearing a mask. Accessing my account via mobile was also a nightmare. I was in my account and it kept asking me to sign in over and over again until I was locked out. Luckily my friend was able to download the app but that took 15min of finessing as I still needed to log in multiple times until it allowed me to access my reservation.Daniela S.

U-Haul does not fulfill the terms of your reservation. I recently reserved a truck and moving equipment, such as dollies and furniture pads, and when I arrived to pick up everything on the morning of my move none of the moving equipment was there. Further, neither the employees at the location nor customer service took responsibility or tried to help solve the problem. I ended up having to spend $100 at a hardware store to buy the equipment necessary for the move and have not been reimbursed by U-Haul despite my request to the regional customer service manager. Also, to make matters worse, I had reserved a storage unit with them when the move was complete and was told at check-in that there were no units in the size needed for my belongings. I will never do business with them again.Christopher F.

Our *guaranteed* 9' van wasn't there when we arrived and the person inside just said "sorry, call U-Haul customer service" so we did and sat there for 30 minutes and nobody answered. I was FURIOUS that nobody was helping us and we were on a tight schedule. Finally someone came out and offered us one of the giant moving trucks which I'm totally not comfortable driving but we had no choice but to take it because u-haul wouldn't help either. Then they gave us like a $4 discount...never using U-haul again. They only get 2 stars because everything was very clean.aimee W.
This is a terrible location. Absolutely the worst uhaul experience I've ever had. Truck was not ready, requested equipment was not available, staff was not friendly, helpful, or wearing any PPE. I wasted $150 in unused hourly wage on laborers who were sitting around without a truck to load because of the inability of this location to do their job. Uhaul needs to retrain or reassess their relationship with this location. They do a huge disservice to the brand. The drop off was great, though I found the parking aspect confusing as I did it by myself because I did it after hours, I think closer to 9pm. Separate from the drop off, at the end of my journey with the truck, assistance had to come because the battery pooped out. It was supposed to come an hour after I got in touch with assistance, but an hour and 20 min in they still had not arrived, and I got a text from somebody in your company asking if I was helped yet. She then told me they arrived but said they couldn't get in touch with me, which she disagreed with because she easily got in touch with me, essentially blaming it on the driver. When somebody finally came, I was waiting by the truck, and he showed me that the contact number he was given was clearly not my number and it was a 1800. It finally happened about an hour after somebody was supposed to arrive. For the next customer, have the correct number on file. My dad had to drive back to Boston after helping me out and it made his long day even longer. Your customers' time is valuable.Maya T.

I booked an 11:30pm contactless pick up. Was told when I arrived that was not possible and to come back the next morning at 6am. Got the truck the following morning, the gas tank was not full and it was filled with water and soda bottles. Not greatlance H.
I arrived at 9:55am for my 10:00am appointment. I was told to talk to one of the workers in the trucks who wasn't wearing a facemask and told me I needed to check in with him. He went through a 10 minute process of "checking" me in. He asked if i wanted safe move in which I said no, the worker tried to convince me to get it (as evident in the final bill, he chose it anyway for me). Upon getting into the truck I was directed at, I noticed the indicator for the front left tire was on, checking the tire it looked low. When I told the worker this, I was told the indicator was broken and he refused to give me a different truck or look at the tire. I was finally able to leave at 10:15am (15 minutes wasted). Upon returning the truck after drive a total of 6 miles, at 2pm. I was greeted by a different staff member who told me I needed to full up the gas tank to more than I was given it at. I politely said that wasn't not the agreement I had with Uhaul and in the four hours i drove 6 miles. Nobody would inspect the truck upon return and I had to wait a week before I got my final receipt as Uhual had to look into this for me. I wouldn't recommend renting from this locationGarrett A.

Not only the self-service never worked, but you also require random stuff, like a *passport*, without communicating this to the customer beforehand, at all. At least I was able to step into the store and rent the truck â€” but I didn't want to do this; that's why I had chosen self-service. What if the pick-up time was after hours? You realize that we pick certain time windows because of arrangements with building concierges, movers, etc., right?Vasileios K.

Guys guys guys. MAKE THIS EASIER. it's crazy how difficult it is. Even with an international license (which is only ever problematic in the US and nowhere else in the world) how long does this have to take... it feels like we are in the 80's. Love UHaul... no complaints with the actual Trucks or service... but it shouldn't take 30 minutes to pick up a truck. Sometimes an hour. Especially when you've used uhaul many times before... my suggestion - stop trying to sell me storage and dolly's and make this check in and check out EASY and FASTMatthew J.

Stop using this location to rent your trucks from. I've rented vehicles there before. This was the last time. Customer service is atrocious. The guy in the store was so nasty. I left feeling so abused after I just rented a van for 4 hours and bought gas there. My recommendation for U-Haul customers is to find another rental location even if it means you have to drive another 30-45 minutes.James C.

I told the store clerk that I would return the truck at 11pm and she didn't enter it into the system and they charged me an additional fee without saying anything when returned the truck. Also, while I was in the truck another clerk came out with the keys to a different truck and told me the other clerk doesn't know what she's doing and that she gave me the wrong truck and they were lucky that I hadn't left yet. So I got a different truck. When I returned the truck a different clerk told me that I had 24 hours and he didn't bother to check the mileage. He didn't say anything about returning the truck late. This location is almost a scam. First, they tried to convince me I had booked the van with insurance which I'm sure I didnt. Then, I called them to ask them abou )t the return hours and they said it was 24/7. However, once I received the invoice next day I learned that between 5 pm and 8 am there is a $20 return fee because the location is supposedly our of business hours which is a joke because that location is open 24/7! When I returned the van I asked if I needed to do anything on the app and they said no that they would take care of it so I only needed to drop the keys. However next day in the morning I received an automated message from uhaul reminded me that I needed to return the van using the app (???), which made me realize that the person in the location had forgotten to process the return so I had so spend 20 mins on the phone reminding them to process it and then complaining to get my $20 fee back which I havent received. I tried to return the van. I only drove 12 miles. The owner of the gas insisted that I buy $5 of gas. I showed him the gas meter read above the full line, tipping past the line. He said you Drove 12 miles. Don't you think you used any gas? I said the policy is to bring the tank back full. It was full, but he insisted I spend $5 or he would not let me check in the van. I couldn't get more than $2 of gas in there and the van wouldn't let me put in any more. It was so cheap of him. Very cheap and petty. If he wanted $5 he could have just taken it instead of forcing me back outside into the snow, to put in two lousy dollars of gas. I wasted time and effort just for him to make a point. It wasn't even about the money because I offered it to him, he wouldn't take it. He just wanted me to go out and put the gas in for him. Incredible. Not a lot of time except it was snowing like crazy and my wife was waiting in my car waiting for this incredible waste of time to finish. I will never rent from you again. I would rather spend $50 more, than use you again. Renting a truck from a gas station is insane. I can't believe I was pushed around like that.Mario H.
