Terrible experience. Arrived at the scheduled time and place to pick up my reserved cargo trailer and the trailer was not available. Customer service was poor. I had to find and load the trailer ( not the one i reserved, a smaller one ) on my own, only to find out ( as i was ready to leave town for my cross country move -glad a double checked) that the trailer lights didn’t work due to a frayed cable. Luckily, I had my own connection cable. My experience with uhaul didn’t get any better from here, but considering I am reviewing the place I picked up the trailer, I will stop here. Overall, terrible experience. I would not recommend. The place I dropped my trailer off in castle rock co was top notch.

I was charged more than double the original quote I had initially reserved for an auto transport at another Uhaul center. They remade the reservation themselves and I was shocked when I had to pick up the equipment. I had no choice than to pay for it at that time. Won’t recommend nor use this place again.

They initially refused to help us. We had to get corporate involved. Corporate told us that they had contacted the location to tell them to help us and that they were now expecting us. When we arrived the one person at the desk told us he didn’t know anything about it and it would be a long time before they could help us unload the car from the auto transport and unhook the trailer. Finally, a more helpful person came out of the shop and said he had the note from corporate and came right out to help us.

I ordered a 10’ truck for one way. Pick up in Rock Hill and drop off in Charlotte. I received a confirmation email as well as spoke to someone at U-haul confirming this. When I arrived at Sounds On Wheels I was told a 10’ was not there for me and that I had to take a 15’ truck or nothing. The gentleman was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I stated I had a concern about driving a 15’ truck he struggled his shoulders and said “well I don’t know what to tell you, take the truck or not”. Even after having confirmed via email and telephone, I am bewildered as to how this could have happened and to be spoken and treated like garage is beyond me

I don't think I was charged fairly for the rental. $50 + gas for an in-town rental is ridiculous and I didn't even get everything I ordered. The verification process on the app was long (about 20 mins after my scheduled pick-up time). My only recommendation is to make the verification process easier and make sure your stores have everything ready for the customer before pick-up.

The lot was large and easily accessible. There were only two UHauls on the lot so it was easy to find ours. However, more signage may be helpful. The guy in the office said people never use the app/online process and just come in. They were open so, so it was fine, but may be harder after hours. The hours for Sound on Wheels are very convenient and counter guy was helpful and efficient. Vehicle needs a front end alignment - it pulls to the right. Thanks!

Truck was dirty when I picked and up and worker threatened me when I dropped it off and charged me a cleaning fee

The truck box and cab were filthy. There was dirt all over the floor and ramp and the cab was covered in dog hair. I was only provided 11 blankets, but the utility dolly was in good shape. Also, My reservation was changed to another store and I was not alerted. That store did not have any trucks so I had to go to Sound on Wheels. It was a 2-hour run-around trying to find a truck but the person in the Columbia office was helpful in locating the truck I needed.

Much of this experience was a day-mere! Sound on Wheels was fantastic but the previous U-Haul Location on West Baskins, Rock Hill SC sucked beyond words - no one showed up, no help. In fact several potential customers came but rec'd no assistance. I waited for an hour which should've only taken ten minutes, I contacted customer service and was transferred three times thru customer service (a real headache), which after an hour they sent me to Sound on Wheels - I would highly recommend Sound on Wheels!!! In the future I will only use Sound on Wheels!!!

Gas tank was not full when rented (didn't notice), 1st rental had windshield wiper break before I got off lot, 2nd rental was never checked by location as ticket with keys had tag on it that said do not rent on top copy. Site was not ready with supplies when I arrived and double charged me on Safemove Plus.
