Transmission on uhaul truck is in bad condition. Would not rent to anyone until fixed. Every time there is acceleration the truck would not switch gears and sucked all gas. Was charged for fuel at end checkout but the truck was filled to same spot and used 1/4 of tank in ten miles. Disappointed.

When I received the truck, the paperwork I received indicated that the truck would be at 3/4th tank of gas. However, when doing the initial inspection of the truck, I noticed that the truck was only at 5/8th of a tank. When I raised this concern with the employee, they informed me to return the truck at 5/8ths, the way I recieved it, and they assured me that this would be noted on the paperwork so that I wouldn't be charged for missing fuel. However, upon returning the truck, the initial receipt showed a $12 fuel charge for the missing fuel. I then indicated the same information on that disputing the charges, and after several days of no contact, my card was charged the full amount including the fuel cost. I was suspicious that something like this might happen, so I took a picture of the initial gas level along with the initial mileage I recieved the truck at, but since UHaul never contacted me, I have been unable to use this proof to get a refund for the fuel charge. This has been an outrageous and infuriating experience, and I will never again rent from UHaul after this.

The two young men working in the office were welcoming, helpful, and efficient. It was a bit strange that there was no U-Haul street or building signage. It made the office location a bit difficult to find.

You can make sure the name of the person renting is actually the correct name you have in the system. The person you listed is NOT the person who rented the truck. No one verified this at the time of renting.

I have rented the same truck several times and although i had let them know several time that it looked like the interior was covered in spilled drinks and there was something smeared on inside of the windshield, making it hard to see, it was still there every time i rented the truck. Plus the alignment is horrible making driving it a fight to keep it on the road.

You need to be UP FRONT WITH ALL EXPECTED CHARGES AT TIME OF RESERVATION! We expected to pay no more than $40 since you quoted us $34. We ended up paying $107!!! NOT acceptable!! Won’t be using this service again! Also, the iPhone truck pick up option SUCKS!!

Very disappointed with the instructions for drop off that the website gives to you. The instructions were vague and I interpreted them as leave the keys in the cab where you found them. It turns out I was supposed to leave the keys in the cargo area and use the padlock from them to secure it. I was contacted and told I had to hire a locksmith to get into the vehicle. After calling the local offices and corporate I am still unclear what the resolution to this is going to be. But I feel like it is not my responsibility to get the keys from the cab when the drop off instructions are so poor.

I ended up at SB Self Storage after hours when another site dropped the ball. Van was great. Customer service could have been better. A drop box would be a bit more convenient for tired/stressed customers.
