Although it was very easy to return my experience picking up felt like I was trespassing and the operator has zero customer service skills. But I do appreciate the speed at which he tossed me the keys.

I have gone to this location twice for moving purposes to rent a U Haul van. The man working both times is pretty rude. Instead of asking for my boyfriends ID, he just held his hand out and expected us to know what he meant. I was not told I would be charged for 2 days of CDW (even though I opted out to use my own insurance). I had no issues with the van I rented, but this location could use improvement.

The store manager was very rude and I order a furniture dolly and got a utility dolly,also I was told on line its $42 for everything after self checking online it came up to $55 but yet still the store manager charge me $64 and I didn't go over my time and I put the gas back in tank,I even used less mileage,I'm never using this location again

For the person to be there when you drop off the vehicle during normal business hours because I'm not sure how to share my location on the return app so I had to wait a long time for the person to come to the office to Assist me. Also, they should state the upfront cost. I chose the 19.99/day van and was charged $119/day totaling $169. I would've appreciated being told of the actual price for the rental in advance that was way off from the online down rental price.

After I Bering the Van back I get a charge of $ 77.00 and the time before that was $ 100.00, I want to request the money back, also I get afraid to keep rent it, because after your guys change the way to rent it, start to have charge after bring the can back

I just had the worst experience with Uhaul. I had a pick up time at 7:30am in Elizabeth Ave. i did the online check-in to find that the van is locked inside. I did not get a person in the phone until an Hour later and representative lady told me that she will call me in 5 mins but never called me again. Finally after an hour I got somebody on the line but she sent me to the south street location. She was also very rude and did not even apologize. On this location everything was fine but I spent a lot of money on Uber going between locations. I also made sure it's 7:30am so I don't get stuck in traffic and because I did not get the van on time I set on traffic for a long time which costed me a lot of money. Very very poor experience I will say!

The location where I rented the dolly from was horrible. The staff was VERY rude. I was told by Uhaul that I could bring the dolly back before 8pm, and I rented the dolly at 2pm. When I got there and they asked when I would bring the dolly back and I said 6pm, they said that wouldn't work because they close at 5pm, 3 hours after I picked the dolly up. So, I had to bring it back the next morning (this morning) and they called me very rude stating “this Uhaul, where's my dolly?” As I am in route to the location to drop it off in the morning as we've discussed the day prior. Overall this experience was horrible and I honestly think you guys should remove that location. The staff there has horrible customer service.

John was Unprofessional, Rude, has a NASTY attitude and charged me twice for the same rental and this was the second time we went to this location. The first time he was not there when we went after taking off work and hiring help and we had to cancel. We spoke with a rep who reimbursed us for his negativity and we had to go there again bc it was super convenient thinking we would get someone else to help but it was him again treating my husband and I like scum. He then charged us twice and when I called to tell him he was still rude and basically called me incompetent. I would have NEVER went back to him but I was picking up items that were donated for 2 families that lost everything in a fire. I work for Rutgers Police Dept and would not lie this is totally unacceptable. I just want the $49. Back

I was charged for CDW coverage that I declined. When asked about it, I was told that I would always be charged for it. I returned the van with the same gas that I received it and was charged $21 for gas. All in all the experience was awful and disingenuous.

The person renting the uhual truck to me was in my opinion unprofessional, I believe that instead of going based upon my reservation I put in, he created a whole new one with out my consent. He did not ask me about insuring the vehicle, when in my reservation I created the day before I specified that I did not want to insure the vehicle because I knew I would bring it back in the condition I got it. So after he charged me I asked why was it so much he stated there were fees and insurance, I replied that I did not request to be charged insurance, angrily he replied there was no way I could be refunded for that even though I did not give him the right to charge me for it. He was not friendly, very impolite and not straight forward about what I was being charged for before he went through with the transaction. I will not refer anyone or do business with 320 South St, Newark, NJ 07114 location!

Was the most negative experience I've ever had with UHaul. I had scheduled a 10:00 AM pickup...had to wait 20 minutes for the individual to show up. Every other word out of his mouth was F**k this and F**k that. Was filthy and didn't have any sense of customer service. The vehicle had a check tire pressure light on and he didn't even care to resolve it. I would never go back to that place again!

Worst uhaul location every, computers where down would do a maunal rental even though had reservarion, truck was dirty with trash, low tire pressure light, oil overdue light and service over due light, owner was rude and very un proffedsional , Has no customer service skills and really doesnt care

You can improve service by notifying customers ahead of time that the reservation is not a confirmation that you will get your the van or truck that you ordered. In addition the customer should be notified immediately if their reservation is going to be cancelled because no van is available or no truck is available

I had to walk through a scrap yard banging on doors to find one person working. I told him I was dropping off the truck and he said I would have to find somplace else because the lot was full. I told him that this is where I was supposed to leave it. After a brief heated conversation of me basically telling him that I wasn't driving it anywhere else he took it. I was given no paperwork at all at drop off. He said it would be done with email.

The person in charge dis not want to release the truck I had reserved to me. He said be needed it back before 2pm, and I had told the customer service representative that I needed it until 7pm. It was a battle just to get the paperwork started which took an hour of my valuable time. Then he charged me for insurance when I did not ask for it, so we had to start the paperwork all over again. There was something wrong with the system so it took ANOTHER hour to fix that problem. He was very rude and unhelpful. In order to get the rental truck I reserved the day prior, I had to agree to drop off the truck to a uhaul 8 miles out of my way. I have never had this experience with uhaul before. This was horrible.

Upon truck pick-up there was a water bottle half filled with urine in plain sight within the cab of the truck. Also, the bed of the truck was not swept broom clean. This location did not have blankets available to rent. Overall, it was an experience I could not recommend.

I DEFINITELY DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE !!! Since he time that you step in to this place , you gonna feel like you are doing something wrong and the only wrong thing that you are doing ia not to plan ahead and find another location to rent a van/truck or a trailer . Please read this review and DON'T go there . Owner/manager has a incredible bad attitude with customers and I'm can confident to tell you that this is not one of those days that everyone has it . That is the way that they treat customers at this place . Don't expect to get even a "good morning" . I'm feeling really bad to write this bad review but at the same time thats what makes me feel better by helping other people to not use this service . Shame on U-Haul to have a partner like South St Auto Savage .

The owner had an immediate attitude. Couldn't even respond to my Hello. My reservation was for 2 hours from 3 pm. I get there at 3 pm. He asks me how long my reservation will take. I tell him roughly an hour, maybe an hour and half. He then tells me that I need to have it back before 5 pm, and that I cannot leave the truck outside (which is where I picked it up from), and that if I wasn't back by 5, I'd have have to keep it for the night. I said that I knew that, and that I didn't think it would take that long. He then says, "Yeah, I know, everyone says that though. Then they don't come back in time." At this point, it's been 3 more minutes, and I let him know that the longer he takes, the longer it'll take me to bring the truck back. He asks me how many miles I would be using. I said maybe 5. He then proceeds to put a 9 mile estimate on my contract (which I didn't notice until bringing it back). Upon returning the truck back, the guy had more of an attitude when he realized he'd have to refund some money since he didn't listen to my 5-mile estimate. Pros: Truck was clean Cons: Owners/managers attitude, truck wasn't completely full of gas, being told I wasn't allowed to use the truck for the entire time I reserved it for.

The cargo van i got was smelling very badly. I asked them to give me another one, they told me they don't have any other vans. I was about to go to another location. But due to lack of time i had to take the van. I do not recommend anyone to go to this location. They guy is very rude and always angry. This is not even good for UHAUL business. Guys, Please go to other UHAUL location. Don't waste your time in this particular location :320 South street.

I only rated the location as "below average" because there was street paving going on the day of pick up and the location was difficult to get to due to street closers, one-ways, traffic, etc. Otherwise the gentleman was friendly and helpful.

You can start by removing this location from your roster of third-party merchandise provider. He is very disrespectful and a racist The worse customer EVER. This man blatantly spoke to me in a condescending tone, called my fiance' a bitch and threatened us with the fact that he had all of our information! I am African American and my wife is German, I suggest that you not allow someone like that to represent your company name. We notified the police who said that if it didn't become physical there wasn't anything they could do. We also have told everyone on our social media accounts NOT TO DO BUSINESS THERE!!! WE want the matter addressed immediately! You will receive formal documentation from our attorney if we do not receive correspondence from you regarding this matter..
