Jeff BOwner was not empathetic to customer’s complaints. I explained to him that when attempted to call him the call never went through. He left a message to call him back to avoid a fee for not returning the U-Haul with the exact gas amount, but the call never went through and he was quick to asses the penalty fee even after I showed him that the calls were not going through. Very bad location to rent a Uhaul please rent from a different location. Other than that the truck was fantastic.

CHAD GThis location was fine. As far as clean and inviting, etc., it’s a gas station. It’s pretty much what you would expect of a gas station. I had to drop the truck off in the back and it was a little sketchy back there, but at least I wasn’t alone.

William LI have been renting U-Haul trucks for a while now. This place is the worst i have ever seen. No clean truck, even vacuum or just keep windshield clean. Even if some one provide a free service iam not expecting a truck like this. Common guys we are paying rent and per mile $ its basic thing one expect van to be clean

JONATHAN GI rent a lot of uhaul trucks nationwide. I picked up a 26' here for a one day rental. I returned it 2.75 hours before it was due. Took a photo of fuel and mileage and went over it with the attendant. He didn't check it in until the following day, and after several times talking with uhaul on the phone I was still charged for a 2 day rental and the 2nd day insurance. Terrible, fraudulent way of doing business

Not only did I have to go to a different location from the one I selected no one offered to drive me there I had tondo uber. I never got any enail phone call etc to let me know the location has been changed. The people on the phone could careless about you
David Lthe owner or manager , an man my age approx 66, was so helpful an having to operate the convince gas store at same time , he does very well, just the fact of this man is why I came back for a second rental an potentially more, the only issue is unable to drop off trailer as in app as I have with multiple Modesto ,CA locations. so I can explore my time. an not having to wait till opening time , one other issue is when I tried calling to info this location that I was running late , the number listed go to a fax machine , I the. has to get the uhaul national person involved ton get into the this location , again the man that serviced me went above so many. an I told him so face to face , respectfully Mr purcell. Genevieve MU-Haul made it VERY clear I needed to return the 26' truck to this location or else I'd be charged a fee. My usual location is a full-blown U-Haul store and easy to access. The location I was required to return the truck can only be accessed by a particular route (you can only make a right turn in), and it is part of an Exxon gas station. I returned the truck and headed inside, but once inside there are so many racks of items for sale by the Exxon food mart that you can't easily see the location of the U-Haul counter. The gas station attendant told me where to drop the appliance blankets, and that's where I could almost see the U-Haul counter. I dropped the blankets and then the attendant told me to leave the truck key with him. I asked him three questions to which he simply said he did know the answer, and then he finally said, "I'm not a U-Haul employee, the U-Haul guy is not here right now." Why not state that at the outset? Why am I being required to return the truck to a site that doesn't have U-Haul personnel available? I used the app to return the truck and at least it worked better than during the pickup.
Thomas GThis was a gas station with one attendant that did not appear well versed with renting UHaul equipment. He had to call a UHaul representative for specific directions but then merely put his phone on speaker and handed it to me! Being hearing impaired this did not work well for me but we managed. Once my rental was arranged, he had to close the retail section if the gas station to attend to my rental. Though he provided some guidance, I had to connect the vehicle tow dolly myself. No paperwork or signatures were given, all was electronic. My inspection of the equipment found a few issues but it seemed nobody cared so I merely took pictures in case I was held to blame. Light fixture housings were cracked but operational, the emergency brake system was bent and non-operational (I had to bend the housing into normal position), and both tires proved to be low on air with one at nearly half its desired pressure and obviously bulged from the weight of just the dolly. This was the only such dolly in the lot and I’d already been misdirected to the Dublin CA UHaul to pick this up and was told they never have such equipment. I was told I would see a $50 discount applied to my credit card but could take 3-5 days to post. I filled the tires myself and proceeded with the move without further issue.
Leslie VI requested to pick up at a different location and was not informed I was to pick up at the Exxon location until I arrived at the requested location. It took 30 minutes for the person to figure out who I was and what my order was. I was told my uhaul was upgraded from a 20 foot truck to a 26 foot truck without my consent. I was told I would not be charged for the change. I was then charged an extra 240 for the change and am still waiting for a refund. I don't appreciate the pick up location being changed without notifying me and being given a bigger truck without my consent to then be charged for Uhauls unilateral upgrade.

Drew FThe attendant wouldn’t give me the equipment even though I had a reservation. He was rude and argued with me. When I was on the phone with the Uhaul rep the attendant refused to talk to him. When he finally gave me the equipment, he grabbed the phone from my hand to talk to the Uhaul rep and said, it is done and walked away. Will never rent anything from this location, or even get gas or buy anything, ever!

JEREMY GHad put all my information in on line ahead of time. Had to repeat everything again to the person "helping me" while selling gasoline, beer, and potato chips. He had to check on everything with someone else on the phone. Took an hour just to pick up the key for the truck. Very frustrating. Truck had damage on both sides, Made me wonder why I bought the insurance. Including gasoline the truck cost me $1000 for 12 hours of use. Outrageous price. Truck ran fine.
Gregory PThe gentleman at the front counter was very rude. We waited a very long time as someone else who wasn’t at the actual location was getting the order taken care of. Three separate phone calls had to be made by that person. The man on the phone stated that he had been locked out on his end some how. We were just handed a cell phone each time he would call. After my card was charged and a received a notification with the truck number I asked the gentleman if he could call back the other man so we could get on the road since we had been waiting so long. He refused and kept saying if he said he will call you back he will call back. He refused to make the call so we had to once again wait for an incoming call to his cellphone. He then just handed us the key and didn’t even direct us to the truck.
Jiovanna VImprove your self checkin process. It’s slow, clunky, won’t accept photos that are crystal clear. Simply hitting cancel allowed me to proceed. Slow agent verification. Your partner locations like this gas station don’t know anything about U-Haul and adds just another unpleasant experience to the overall poor experience. Will probably rent from another company in the future because of this.

Yaroslav BAs a long time and loyal customer of U-haul, this was by far the worst experience. The 26' truck was filthy inside, smelled of cigarettes, no windshield washer fluid, poor headlights, no furniture pads, quarter tank of gas, and unclean in the bed of the truck. We made a 22+ hour trek and was very disappointed in paying over $4400 to have a terrible experience.
Vanessa FThe truck appears to have been used to haul garbage. The assistant in the morning needed to call his manager for the check in so the check in process was quite long. A different person was there in the afternoon. He was not courteous.
Mathew Sthe fuel surcharged seemed very excessive billed $24 to cover fuel for 13.8 miles of driving I couldn't notice any change in the fuel gauge comparing before and after pictures, other than that everything went smoothly
Jonathan FThe attendant was asleep and move slower than a snail. He also said he would help carry out the moving blankets and did not. The truck was in so dirty inside the cab and back. the defroster did not work properly and spewed looks like heater coil fluid all inside the truck cab. This caused many delays and we ended up having to stop 2 days due to the fact that we could not see out the window. Horrible experience with this truck and the fact that we paid so much for this rental is unacceptable.

Gary Gthere was no one there to help hook up the trailer as there was only the gas station attendant and they couldn't leave there place behind the register. Most of the hook ups safety chains were missing the rubber connector that prevents them from unhooking on their journey so we had to use them from another trailer.

Eugene GIt worked but being new at driving a 26 ft truck it would have been helpful if the truck didn't need to be reversed out of the driveway. I did the photo review on my phone and the photos listed appeared to be different with less damage on the truck. The website was easy to add in new photos of the truck. It would have been nice if the cup holder in the truck worked.

Mac NReserved U-Haul over a month ago. Even confirmed it earlier this week. Showed up right as the store open. No trucks at all. Had time drive farther to pick up a truck. More mileage. What was supposed to be a 5 mile round trip turned out to be be 40 miles round trip. Returned the truck and the guy told me to just take a snap shot of my own contract with his signature. That made me wary given my entire experience. Wound up doing my own self return online. First time renting from U-Haul and most likely the last. Absolutely crappy service and no honoring a reservation.

dylan jBetter training for your staff. The customer ahead of me tried to help him with the computer but your staff member clearly was struggling. When it was my turn, he was asking questions that were already on the reservation like pick up location, then asked for a credit card even though it was already paid for online.
Freddy DCheckout process was slow and I had already done all the pre-visit things I was supposed to. They did not have all the blankets requested so I was sent to another location to get the remainder of what I had paid for, and they sent me to a third location (5555 Sunol Bl. Pleasanton, CA 94566). In total, it took about 90 minutes to get on my way. I would have rather just gone to the Pleasanton location in the first place as they had much more available in supplies.
