The location was closed when I got there, forcing me to figure out how to check out the car online myself. The website was buggy, which caused me a delay of 45 minutes to get the van, causing me to start my move in a delay and made the whole day a rush. Also, the truck REAKED of cigarettes. It actually clung to my clothes, it was disgusting.Helder B.
Reservation was easy. Live chat was super and made pick up easy even with an international drivers license. The truck was filthy dirty, the entire back was full of mud and dirt. The cab was uncleaned. When I had trouble with the lock box the number provided was not in service. Very grateful for the live chat, they were extremely helpful. Would not recommend this location and would not use it again for myself.Ona B.
to give credit where credit is due, the van could have been cleaner, since the customer is doing so much work with the validation of photos, self check-in, the employee could do a quick review and make sure that garbage is taken out of the door pocket areas. In addition, it would be helpful if it was explicitly called out that the van could be put back driving forwards. It is difficult to reverse a van, especially one that you are not used to driving, into a very small space, with low visibility, on a very busy St. Clair Avenue This would be my recommendations on making it a better experience. I would imagine that if someone wasn't fully comfortable driving a vehicle of the size, putting the vehicle back into place would be very challengingEric O.

Overcharged by gas as the gas wasn't full like they said it was. I put the real amount while doing their online inspection and uploaded a picture but was charged as it was full tank. Other than that, no problems.DanielMamede A.
Although the vehicle was clean, it could have used a dusting off inside the cab. Also, you should never have to pick a rental with quarter tank of gas. No less than half a tank, 3/4 tank would be ideal.ERMILIANO T.

This Uhaul experience was far my worst yet. I am thankful I take diligent photos of the Uhaul so I can keep record of the stunts anyone might try to pull. Thankfully, I did so!! The vehicle inside had a number of boxes in the trunk, which was clearly never checked. The interior/ exterior walk of the vehicle condition had never been done as with previous Uhaul experiences. I had returned the vehicle as I usually do to the key drop-off to be notified of a $46 charge the following day and I called in to be told it was for "gas use". I have the photos of both pickup and delivery of the fuel gauge and it's the same. The $46 is a severe misrepresentation of how much fuel the vehicle had on pickup and resulted in exaggerated charges!! When confronted about this, the owner requested photos, which have been provided and still not refunded. This was a very close call, however I want a resolution and ALSO prevent others from being ripped off! My wife returned another Uhaul for me this afternoon and AGAIN the person working there came back and told her it was $76, meanwhile the gas was at the exact same position and ONLY 3 MILES WERE DRIVEN!! Once my wife explained all her documentation, he stuttered and began adjusting the price to where the evidence showed and only $28 was charged, leaving another HUGE GAP in their attempt to overcharge customers. This week was 2/2 scam attempts and both times I can prove them wrong and also very offending to just about all consumers. My suspicion tells me that they have and are doing this to many customers who don't keep proper records to prove them otherwise and simply accept the false charges to apply. This is a horrible business practice of ripping people off. I trust this will be escalated and these people will be challenged on the business practices and maintenance of U-Haul's reputation as a business. My suspicion would be that of an often track record of overcharging customers for overages on gas and mileage...Alessandro G.

Vehicle could us a wipe down of common surfaces in vehicle- Main concern -Dried coffee spills inside truck roof and cup holders. -Other crumbs in cup holder. -Old parking pay stubs in front windshield. No other complaints. Vehicle gave no issues. Process was easy. The male on staff that day was polite. I attempted to you use your automated pickup using the UHAUL app, then the website and even though location was turned on for both on my phone, it would not recognise my location and I then had to wait an hour until the store opened, The guy was pleasant and extended my rental an hour to reflect this problem, while weathering my extreme displeasure at the annoyance of your checkin system which did not work.TheChurchofStMar C.

I was promised $50 credit on my prepaid trip by the manager on the phone (U-Haul). When I asked them to email they said they'd add it to my account. It was not there. Also, when booking one way trips it would be more beneficial to show locations then which offer one ways instead of being able to book all locations then change the location to 21km away. I had no car because I thought I was going to walk the 3km to pick up the truck. Instead I had to Uber which is why the $50 credit was offered though it was never received.Julie D.

I like the option of mobile rentals, but the process was very long and frustrating. The online process was hampered numerous times by various issues. The phone service was helpful. It should be made clear that the user should use the Chrome browser, not the app. And the lock box combination wouldn't work. I spent over 20 minutes in the freezing cold, tired and frustrated before just leaving them in the key return box.Bryant D.

The inside of the van was extremely filthy. Clearly it had not been cleaned/sanitized for its' customers. I immediately expressed my concerns to Lee (employee) before leaving. With the Pandemic still on a rise I was very much surprised that this van was in this condition to be rented. There is no parking available either. There is a mall across the street where I was told to park .Having to wait to be served, Lee had to be called as he was not in the office upon my arrival. The office was dirty and disorganized as well. I don't know how UHaul authorizes this Dealer to represent the company.ANNA T.

I had requested a furniture dolly and pads, and ultimately this location didn't have them. Why was I able to request these in the first place? These options should be specific to the location so that the customer knows what they're going to get.Rifat J.

Online check in was overly complicated. Initial profile setup did not prompt for drivers licence photos which caused the online pick up option to not show. Location was disorganized and also insisted that I complete a paper fuel inspection although I'd already completed the online inspection. Would prefer staff wear masks properly (one person's mask kept slipping and another person wore a bandana and not a mask). The location is a little hard to find, but once you realize it looks like a car garage, a little easier. Stood in the store for 15 minutes wondering where anybody was.. both the front and back door were opened. Nobody there, no note to tell customers anything. Talk about confusing the customer Insurance was put on the rental I never requested it nor was I asked if I wanted it. This place needs a major overhaul of the inside. What a mess.. but more so if they are leaving the building they need a posted. Ore telling customers to call if serve ice is required. There is nothing. Nothing. Very bad customer service and on top of prices are such rip off and also very random. Told me 1.50/ km and base fee is 50 dollar for cube truck for 4 hours. I am a small business owner and I used to rent from there a lot and I know all the prices. But it seems there is new owner and it was terrible. The Uhaul rental process is difficult. My phone could not scan my driver's licence when I arrived and I had to figure out an alternative to process my rental, using the store's computer to sign in, send myself emails with photos of the license etc. It took 30 minutes and I was late for my planned pick up. I was at the point of walking away and going to find a van at another company. Why doesn't Uhaul make it easy for customers to rent? How difficult is it to install a barcode scanner at each location to capture a customer's driver's license? I will not rent from Uhaul again!Jennylynd J.

Poor service & over charged or more money withdrawn from my credit card. I reserved a van on line. Service in the office was poor. The woman at the desk kept texting and on social media while I waited. I was the only customer until another came in later & she has ample time to wast on texting after serving a customer. I returned the van after few hours and settled my bill and took my receipt. However next day I noticed I was over charged. This is literally theft or scamming. Nit good for H-Haul. If my money not returned I will ask my credit card to reimburse me and report it to BBB.Ephrem G.
