Lisa BI show up and its automated on the app, but the app isnt working. Cant find my location. Wont scan the bar code. The office (3rd party) said they are at lunch and would be back at 2pm. I come back at 2pm and its still locked. I wait......30 mins later they are still not back. I call customer service and it takes another 30 minutes for me to be walked through the process and get the keys. I reserved a dolly, paid for the dolly...but no dolly was in the truck.

TOM SI'm not surprised there was no question asking for a rating of the pick-up process as U-Haul must already know they would be getting 1 stars over and over again. I was on the phone with customer support for over 30 minutes. Your pick-up process is NOT simple as it says when one makes a reservation. I could not get the email for the one-time verification code. I made multiple attempts, both on my own waiting to actually speak with a representative and then once I was able to get connected with someone. Finally, the woman I was on the phone with from U-Haul was able to figure out a way for me to get the code. Unfortunately, then there was an extensive wait for someone to call my contact to verify me. Once again, since my husband never received the call, she was able to get around it and move the process along. After eating through about 40 minutes of my scheduled time, we got into the truck and were set. I hope you are able to check the records as to who I spoke with because she was GREAT!! If not for her we'd probably still be sitting at that location to get the truck. And those emails with the one-time verification codes came hours later, after I had already dropped off the truck. I never did get a receipt either and since this was for business purposes I need that for taxes. The employees at the facility were useless. I was scheduled to pick-up at 9am, all they kept saying over the phone was "Sorry, can't help, we open at noon"; my drop off time was set for 1pm so, obviously, that was not an option to wait for them. This was a TERRIBLE process and I will go elsewhere in the future. Plus, I didn't get any reimbursement or savings even though I wasn't able to drive the truck off the lot until close to 10am, an hour after I should have been able to. Fix your process. U-Haul has been around long enough, is a huge enough company, with plenty of money, these issues should not have occurred. 1-star rating for U-Haul in general, 1 star rating for the pick-up process. I would give the woman I spoke with 5 stars, but not your customer service in general, that would be a 1 star rating as well.
AMY JThe office smelled like cigarettes. No one was available when I returned the rental and I waited 10 min and calling the phone number listed on the door. The entrance isn't big enough for more that one vehicle and there's no parking. The equipment was in good condition, however, and they were helpful in getting everything hooked up.

lisa bI had trouble checking in on my uhaul app to pick up the truck. The lady working in the office refused to help me for close to 20 minutes, she rudely informed me that it was her lunch break and that I was ridiculous! I will never go back there again.

CYNDI WThe staff was nice but there was only 1 person amd I wasn't able to get the vehicle until nearly an hour after arriving to puck it up. The truck I received had someone else's property inside of it. Making it so that I was unable to use it. When I contacted the location about this they were apologetic but didn't offer any solutions. Again. I dont blame the employee as she was clearly working alone when the job seemed like it should ha e some assistance, but I can't really reccomend using them.

MAXIMINO CIt's a nice place to be, clean and well organized. Just that it's kind of hidden from public view. I think you need a bigger signboard to be strategically and conspicuously mounted to create awareness of this beautiful facility in the neighborhood.

My daughter found it and the new lady replaced since she told Kim several months prior ( this is what she told me) to notify me, but never was. No excuses, she jumped. She is Awesome! Will return.
LYNN F | Overall ExperienceThe only cons were that I accidentally went over on my bill without knowing yet I received no emails or calls about it, instead I had a delinquent fee and lots of late fees. Also on 4 different occasions/days I tried calling. Not a single time (during posted business hours) anyone picked up the phone. Other than that the staff was friendly and everything was good.
gabriel r | Overall ExperienceI am highly unsatisfied with my experience. Whenever I move, which I move often, I always choose Uhaul. So for this move I reserved a 15 foot truck a week before I needed it online. I received a call the day before pickup to confirm and they switched locations on me to 6215-6247 E Main St Mesa, AZ. We showed up at the first location at 8:50 am for a 9 am pickup. The lady working was very nice but took a while to open the door, and notified us that she has no trucks for us to take. It took over 25 minutes for her to get in contact with Uhaul to find a location. We went to the next location, 1864 E Southern Ave in Mesa, who luckily just got the truck the night before. Once we arrived and had to work through technical issues where it wouldnt allow us to pay. At 9:50 am we finallly got our truck when we were supposed to meet my moving help at 9:20 am... Uhaul did not communicate with these stores for reservations, for where trucks are, if trucks are ready. At 6215-6247 E Main St Mesa, AZ, the Uhaul representative tried to get the worker to rent us a uhaul truck that has not been inspected for our 800 mile trip. The truck we ended up renting was dirty and not clean, it was only swept out in the back. We disenfected it ourselves and it our paper towels were black, this is not acceptable during COVID. I suggest these locations increase their cleaning protocols, that Uhaul communicates with their stores, and to have consistent information given to customers. Both locations the staff was doing their best to get us a truck and had amazing customer service but it was very frustrating as I paid a few hundred dollars for a rental truck and did not get the service promised.

Lisa BThe woman at this location was very helpful after the whole scheduling / Pick-up dibocal from the first location. Reserved a car dolly and when I went to pick it up at the scheduled time, opps, it was closed. Ended up getting the dolly at Star Mini Storage but that was 10 miles out of the way in one direction. This experience has really turned me off to U-haul. I lost 2.5 hours and $20.00 in extra gas having to switch locations. Really disappointed.

Randy KOvercharged me for the truck and took an hour to get me the truck even though no one else was at the store or even wanting to use a truck. I would recommend anyone I know to avoid using this location for any service especially for uhaul.

STEPHEN KKim was wonderful! We rented a 5X8 trailer after filling the truck we had rented. One of the turn signals on the trailer wouldn't work. Through trial and error she discovered there was a problem with the connection on our vehicle. We were able to fix the problem and were on our way.
nancy sThe location was closed when I got there, barely any room to park the truck. I was charged another $6.00, don't know why. The called me to see if I had returned the truck because another family needed it, but never answered the phone when I called back.

DAVID CEvery time I called the rudest representative would answer the phone. The same person Kim told me they would be open at 9am. I show up at 9 and no one was there. I waited around 15 mins and nothing. I had to call multiple times after being told that I would be getting a call back from them (same person Kim). I'll also never go to this location ever again.

Ian PThey had trouble putting things in place for me to take the tow dolly. When I returned it 3 hours later no one was there and I had to wait for 30 minutes for someone to show up. This is a storage place that does U Haul. Next time I will go to a U Haul place.
