Very helpful and kind people at the location were the truck was rented. Special thanks to the young girl at the front desk for her kindness she made sure I understood the responsibility of renting the truck. She went beyond her duties to make sure I was satisfied.

Charity PVery easy and convenient pick up and drop off location. Just needed to ask for the moving blankets. Might suggest to have that reminder as part of the pick up checklist for the front desk rep. The ramp was covered in pine needles when I extended it. It would help a lot to have that cleaned off ahead of pick up.
JOY SI don’t appreciate the surprise charges now a days. Will be looking at other rental companies first next time.
Devan BFix the app. I had to resubmit the final photos 6 times due to continual “network errors”when I can assure you it was not that problem. I spent more time trying to submit photos than I spent driving the darn thing.
Eric BThe check in online stuff is not helpful I was Charged $33 for gas that was unwarranted. I filled It to the spot it was when I received it. Will not refer, there is no one to dispute the charges. BS

DANIEL BReserved the truck, furniture dollies, a hand truck, and blankets in advance. About 24-hrs prior to the pick-up date/time I received a call indicating I needed to pick up the rental at a different location. When I arrived at the rental facility I was told I would need to use, I was told they had no hand trucks and no blankets available for the rental. Nothing was said to me about this prior to my arrival to pick-up the truck. I needed both items, they were not optional for this cross-country move, and it is why they were included in the reservation. Whereas I was paying others to load the truck, and I did not have time to pursue other options, I ended up at the Home Depot blocks from the rental facility where I ended up purchasing the equipment/supplies needed. An unplanned expense of several hundred dollars. Additionally, every U-Haul rental facility I have used in the past also had moving supplies available for purchase. This facility was no exception yet when I attempted to purchase rope to secure the load, the attendant told me she could not sell it to me. She said she was new, was not trained in how to process a sale, and no one else was there to handle it or assist her. I mentioned I was happy to just leave cash with her, she told me she doesn’t know the price of the item.

LYLE BTrailer lights shorted out in the rain in the way home. The mobile technician service required extensive knowledge on my side to reason about advocating for myself.
Brent HWe rent trucks regularly for our catering company. We have tried multiple other locations for our rentals, but we will keep going back to State Street Storage. Their customer service is the best we have experienced.
DEXTER EUhauls REFUSAL to include lockout service in the insurance purchased, is a scam. I was stranded in WY and Uhaul wanted $200 on top of the ins premium already paid. Just terrible!

MICHAEL JWhen you change the pickup location for people, you need to send that information IN WRITING. I did not appreciate having to walk to this location from the one that was on my contract. When something in a contract is changed it should be done IN WRITING. I will probably use another truck rental next time because it is not worth guessing what the pickup location is going to be changing to after I have already made the reservation and I don’t get the new address in any form until I call. Fix your system.
DAVID RU-Haul told us to go to this location and then were instructed at the location that we needed to go somewhere else. U-Haul made us drive 30 minutes away from where I was moving too to drop off the truck and then sent us on a wild goose chase. Overall horrible experience on an incredibly stressful day.

Brittney DI cannot comment much on the rental location since it closed at 3pm on the day I needed a U-Haul. I don't know if this is a common thing at that location. This meant I had to use the U-Haul app. I am tech savvy, but I did not like the app at all. I understood it asked so many questions because it was the only thing between a customer and renting a vehicle. I just found it to be a tedious process and would not have rented a U-Haul if I had known what was involved. I will take an employee with a clipboard over this app. When it came to vehicle cleanliness, as asked on the app and in this review, that is a subjective question. The truck I rented had an incredible amount of splattered bugs before I drove it. If my car had that many splattered bugs, I would not consider it clean. However, I found it acceptable for a commercial vehicle. My worry was that I would be charged for the cleaning. I would have preferred an employ make a notation. The same applied to the sound of the exhaust, which sounded like it may have had some type of leak. There was no unusual smell, but it sounded a little loud to me. I don't know anything about commercial vehicles, so it could have been normal. It would have been nice to ask an employee that deals with these vehicles everyday. Instead, my friend got on the ground and made sure the catalytic converter was there and there were no obvious cracks in the exhaust. I don't want to bash the location for closing early, I mainly want bash the U-Haul app. This is why I feel I am being generous by giving the review an "average" rating. The location may be above average if you are dealing with an actual employee. So, if you cannot deal with an actual employee and you do not want to spend 15 to 20 minutes on an app, you may want to skip renting a U-Haul.
John AThe Uhaul app couldn't find my location no matter what I did to change my settings. It took 20 minutes on hold to get in touch with someone to help and they ended up just having me use the website. You advertise that the app is better than the website but you should just delete the app if it isn't going to work. I ended up being late to meet with the people who were helping me move even though I have myself an extra 30 minutes more than I should have needed.

Christopher WA big u haul sign out front that advertises that you need to go into a the storerage facility to get or return a rental would be great, and I would only recommend it to someone after I told them how to actually find where to go, google maps is a little misleading, it says it’s around back if you try to pull it up when it’s actually in the front entrance
Collin MGas was not to the level claimed upon renting. Was very old truck was pretty damaged and beat up and hard to steer. Just ghetto really but it worked.

James GThe pick up/drop off of the equipment was fine. The truck it's self had a hard time excellerating, but that was more annoying than and actual issue. My frustration comes from the fact that I specifically asked the guy when I was picking up the truck what would happen if we dropped off the vehicle late. He said nothing because they would be closed when we would be dropping it off. We dropped off the vehicle late because our event got done later than expected. When I went to check out I realized we got charged extra on the insurance. I assumed this was a mistake and so called to see if we could get refunded the second charge. But they said because we brought it back late we were charge for the second pay period. Had he told me that we would be charged extra I would've been fine because I would have expected or understood that that is what would happen. But if you tell me nothing will happen and then I get charged extra it's frustrating. So maybe in the future don't tell people nothing will happen. Just be honest with them that they will get charged extra so they don't expect one thing and then get something else.

Nelson MI tried to use the mobile pickup and waited 20 minutes for my driver license verification. I gave up and since the store was open went inside and had the truck in about 3 minutes. Terrible mobile pickup experience...it's false advertising to say it cuts wait time in half!
Gary BI showed up for time at 2:45Pm. The front door entry was locked and there was a sign that said “be right back out for lunch.” I ended waiting outside for 30 minutes. The employee returned and did not apologize. I got in the truck and the gas tank was 3/4 full. When it came time to return the truck I have to replace the gas. When I fill the tank up it’s hard to gauge how much gas you put back in to match it. I ended up putting too much gas in the tank costing me more money. The tank should be full when someone picks it up. I will not return to this location nor recommend it.

Robert DThe inside of the truck was pretty dirty when we got it. We had to sweep it out before using it. Also, the truck drove as if it had square tires. I don't know if that is typical or not, but it was a pretty rough ride.

Shawn BThey were 10 minutes late opening their doors. I had reserved an 8 am pickup and the sign on their door said they open at 7:30 am. I saw a truck pull up about 8:05 as I was standing by the door waiting for someone to unlock it. Finally I went over to the truck and asked the man if he worked there. He said yes and that he was working on emergency emails on his cellphone.
Ralph ZMake sure the information on your site is correct. I originally reserved a 15' truck from State Street Storage for today. But when I got there the app didn't recognize my truck being there. I called and they said it was at a different storage site, so I went down there and the app didn't work or the place didn't have my truck. I was able to cancel that reservation and reserve a different truck. But they didn't have the size I was looking for so I had to reserve a bigger truck. The app then worked and all was fine. But the 24/7 truck reserve system needs to improve because that cost me an hour and a half of time I could have been spending moving.
Ian HThe truck that I has reserved didn't come back so I had to go to a different location that the locations where I had originally reserved sent me. That was very nice of them to schedule another location for me even though it was a little bit out of the way. The back of the truck was not cleaned and swept out like it should've been. It was a bit more dirty than normal I would say. Other than that the truck was nice and did it's job.

For the past 9 years all of our units were secure and the facility was always clean. Cleanliness, pest and rodent free were very important in our storage needs. There was never an issue or even signs of concern. Ivan was always kind and took care of every need we had with items we needed to secure and store. Access was always easy.
