Both the furniture dolly and the other dolly I had reserved did not come with the truck and I was still charged for both the equipment at pickup and then also charged a missing fee for both dollies at drop off.

Daryl Wwas charged over 3 times the mileage then the mileage i used. I and I even filled up the gas for them. Now I see why they email the contracts instead of them handing it to us.
MARK SI noticed there is a sticker on the bulkhead facing into the "cargo" compartment in the van advising there is a $25 charge if the van needs to be cleaned by U-Haul, and instructions on how to clean it out (don't use a hose; use dry towels; etc.). So why then, after I picked up the van, did I need to brush-clean the dirt/manure/dry-sticks/leaves out of the back? I always return my rented vans in "brush-sweep" condition, and this condition was insufficient! Also, the excessive dog hair all over the driver/passenger compartment, and the "pumpkin-spice" flavored dog/cat food packets left in the passenger-side door storage holders belied the lack of attention to detail. I use the van in my business and the condition of the van when I picked it up required valuable time be spent to make it acceptable to transport my products and "livable" for the 3 weeks timeframe I needed. Obviously the previous renters didn't clean it after their use, nor did U-Haul clean it. I don't expect a crystal-clean spotless truck at pick-up, but this rental was over the top. Two "christmas tree" air-fresheners required to kill the wet dog/manure smell? Come on, U-Haul. The outside of the van hadn't been washed in a while, but that's not as important. Also, I had use of the van for 3 weeks, and during that time I was constantly reminded to "change the oil soon" every time my eyes wandered down to check the odometer. The van's odometer showed it had 6k plus change on it when I picked it up – if that oil doesn't get changed soon, the engine will suffer as will the longevity of your rental asset. Other than that, the van ran great. I will be back in the future, but... please spend a little more effort on your detailing between rentals. As far as the "Location" above in this review, I gave an "average" because it is what it is... a convenient place to pick up a rental. The condition of the van as described above pulled my rating down, however.The gentleman behind the desk is great and gets many stars, but that question wasn't asked in this review. And would I recommend this location to a friend? I gave a yes because, again, it's convenient.
Thomas FThe rented moving blankets were not there even though I had reserved them so that was not ideal. Also the amount of steps needed before getting the keys was excessive, it should have prompted me to fill out drivers license and stuff at the time of making the reservation. Over all, it was an easy pick up and easier return.

Larry MEasy to schedule rental ONLINE (not over phone). Do your PRE-REGISTRATION online or it takes a long time at the desk "morning-of". Location so close and that matters when it's almost 90 cents a mile. The guys at desk are always friendly and the van was spotless and completely full of gas. Be prepared to do your due diligence on own; pre-checking van for damage/gas tank/cleanliness as there is only one desk person & cannot leave desk. We took photos of gas tank and mileage before returning. Super easy return although you can't get receipt then, but our receipt was emailed before we even returned home. We have used this place 4 times and always very happy with convenience and service.

Mary JI had problems in the past with dirty and not maintained vehicles at this location but this rental was better. This was a newer vehicle with very low miles so maybe that’s why but it was better than the times before. I also was wondering about the vehicles exterior and if they are supposed to be cleaned also before the next rental. I had to take the cargo van through a car wash because the exterior was really dirty when I picked it up. I wasn’t sure if the location is supposed to make sure they are washed before the next rental. I did pick it up very early so maybe they didn’t have time to wash it? Anyway, at least the inside seemed cleaner. This is a convenient location for me and I can pick up and drop off after hours so I was glad to have a better maintained vehicle this time. I want to add the U haul customer service people that helped me in the past with any problems were excellent. I really appreciate that in a company.

Joe HNot happy with the fact that gas expense was not explained hidden in the small print resides rental fee. Only extra charge listed was $1.09 per mile nothing about having to replace fuel used.
Josh WThe U-Haul was great but could have been cleaned out better. It was full of concrete dust. We swept it out before we used it and it was perfect. Otherwise everything was great!

Gordon MThis experience was typical for U-Haul. Upon arrival, I was told they didn’t have the moving blankets I reserved. To U-Haul, it was, sorry we don’t have it. To the customer, I planned on those being available & could have made other arrangements. I also reserved a dolly. They brought out an appliance dolly, which is not what I needed. They told me that is the only kind of dolly U-Haul rents. This is not accurate or acceptable. I ended up paying for a dolly that was useless to me. I have had many experiences like this. U-Haul goes out of their way to make it difficult to be a customer. Probably done with U-Haul.

ROBERT WCargo van I reserved over a week prior was not available. Staff notified me by calling me only 30 minutes prior to my pickup time. Told me I had to drive to another location for the vehicle I needed, which was 10 miles out of the way from the direction we were going. The only other option they gave me was to get a pickup truck instead of the cargo van which is what we reserved. We needed the larger enclosed vehicle so declined the pickup truck and was forced to drive to the alternate pickup location for the cargo van we needed. When we got to the new pickup location, their internet was down and the employee told me there was nothing he could do to rent the vehicle to us. We had to get the original location on the phone and have them check us in over the phone and online through our cell phones. All of this delayed our pickup that morning and also delayed our arrival to our destination by over one hour. The employee at the original location offered me a partial refund for the cost of the rental, but only after I expressed how displeased I was with the situation. Can improve customer service by having employees notify customers the day before if their reserved vehicle will not be available, so that other arrangements can be made beforehand, rather than scrambling to figure it out at the last minute. Also, the company should cover the cost of mileage to another location if they are forcing the customer to drive to another location farther away than the one they originally booked with. This should be expected, given the rental is paid by the mile and also the customer has to then drive their own car farther and put more miles and gas on their own car. Lastly, if the vehicle is not available and the company offers an alternative vehicle to the customer in place of what they reserved, the offer should be for an upgraded vehicle at no extra charge, not a downgraded one. Very frustrating experience. Will not reserve here again if I can help it.
