The front of the U-haul reeked of cigarettes and the cup holders were sticky throughout. I didn't care too much but it was pretty gross and seemed like something that should've been caught beforehand and taken care of. I did try to air it out on the way for you all.

We used a 15' truck from StorCal Self Storage, 2501 W Hillcrest Dr, Newbury Park, CA 91320. It was clean and the customer service we received from James was exceptional. We had a minor problem in that we could not figure out how to release the parking brake. Just could not find it so I called him. He tried to help us over the phone, but no luck. We were pretty close to him, so he drove to us and bingo, problem solved. Thank you James. It would help a lot if the release mechanism or right above it on the bottom of the dash was marked or had a label. Easy fix to do and solve what could be a big problem. Otherwise, everything else was great and the customer service by James was outstanding. I would definitely recommend renting from this place.

The 1-800 number customer service is horrible! The person who took my order over the phone added insurance to my order without telling me or asking me if I wanted it. The time before I was able to rent this truck the person on the phone said someone would call me back and I never got a call back. That operator gave me incorrect information.

I appreciate the Santa Barbara U-Haul keeping my reservation although they were overbooked, due to the Thomas Fire. I really appreciated they were open despite off-and-on power outages.

Overall the van was clean and well maintained. The van's lighter did not charge my phone jack. There was an overwhelming smell of smoke.

I believe I was overcharged. I was not feeling well when I dropped off the vehicle and did not get into the error with the attendant. I believe I was charged twice for mileage. The vehicle was dirty inside and out. Unless the error is addressed I will not make uhaul my first choice in the future. If you check my account, I have used uhaul quite a lot in the past but will no longer if this matter isn't addressed.

This was the best self moving experience I have had (sure, moving is a pain). Equipment was ready on time, personnel were professional and attentive. The 15' truck I rented was so great - it rode smoothly, handled automatically as you would want on down grades, and for a large truck, even got decent mileage. Very pleased with everything,

I believed all of my inconveniences with the company would have ended once I picked up the truck, but they continued as I attempted to return the truck. The truck rental was for two days, but I returned it the same day as the pick up day because where I moved to, there is nowhere I could've parked the truck. It was as an after hours drop off so I made sure that my drop of location would have after hours drop off available. When I arrived, there was no box for me to drop off the keys. I called the U-Haul company and explained to them the situation and also explained the previous troubles I have had with the company. The representative seemed uninterested, rude, and sarcastic to everything I had to say. She was able to change my drop off location, but once again miles away. I am really disappointed with the customer service of this company and find it extremely difficult to recommend this hauling service to my friends and family.

I ordered my truck through this location and they sent me a confirmation and then NEVER told me I had to pick up my truck at a different location 30 minutes away!!!!! The other location called me the morning of my scheduled pick up to tell me this!!! Then I called customer service and they told me I would be charged double if I dropped off my truck the the Newbury Park location (which is the location I ordered the truck through!!!!!!!) and then the Customer Service rep hung up on me!!!!!!! Luckily, Tino at the Oxnard location was able to help me out and switch my truck to a one way, so that I was able to drop the truck off in Newbury Park. I will NEVER order a truck through the Newbury Park location again. And your Customer Service reps need to be trained in customer service skills!!!!!!!

I have had THREE negative experienes with UHAUL in the last 4 months or so. The online portal is 100% wrong - it does not give the right inventory for the right locations...which causes many problems when you show up at a certain location and they do not have the truck. James Snee, at the Hillcrest location in Newbury Park has been the ONLY helpful person when I have run into these issues and he has found a way to get me a truck in a pinch. I have had to call the main traffic number on many occassions just to get the right information, and then on this last reservation they still steered me wrong when I went to pick up my truck - my truck didn't exist at that location and the reservation number was for a wrong size. This has been very frustrating, as my job as a designer depends on getting my items from client to client when I am staging real estate for sale. Uhaul has the best prices and the most locations, but it is incredibly frustrating when you are told you have a truck at a certain time at a certain location and it fails you - and then your job is affected by it. I would like to keep using Uhaul because of the convenience and price, but I don't know if I can depend on it anymore.

I was not told about a milage charge. Just the 19.95 plus refilling the gas. Then i got tje invoice for $98.00. That was terrible and i will tell everyone i know NOT TO USE UHAUL. Horrible experience!!!!!
