The Pepperbush site in Fayetteville NC is a very friendly and professional area if you are looking to rent a storage unit or U Haul vehicle.

SHAWN SMy rental truck was cancelled by UHaul. I was informed by the LABOR Movers I hired through U-HAUL they could not be meet until 1 pm. So I went at 1 pm to pick up my truck and the reservation had be canceled.....I was not a happy camper. The Self Storage location happen to have a smaller truck than reserved and let me rent it for the day. I suggest that if UHaul ever cancels a reservation for any reason to inform the customer. Since I hired the labor through UHaul..... to me the customer see you as one company..... and communication flows between everyone freely.... and I found out that was not the case. I rent a U-Haul once or two ie a year..... this was a very disappointing situation to say the least.

CHARLES AThere was something sticky spilled in the back of the truck and I saw a few roaches in the back of it once I got it home. Please make sure your renters are cleaning out the truck properly.
MITCHELL SI have had some good and bad experiences with U-Haul and that's not a reflection on U-Haul, but I must say that dealing with the facility at Storage King USA on Pepperbush Dr. in Fayetteville has been my absolute best experience in renting any type of U-Haul equipment.

Ashlee PI reserved an appliance dolly and 1 dozen furniture pads and neither were in the truck. I spoke with customer service via live chat when I picked up the truck to let them know and was told my bill and drop off would be adjusted. It wasn't. I said the same on the drop off questionnaire as I did the mobile pick up and drop off due to it being Memorial Day and the location was closed. There is still the incorrect preauthorized amount pending on my account.

BERNARD S1. truck was not swept out, had stuff still in it from prior rental. 2. Check engine light was on the whole time 3. Windshield had a crack going the full width of the windshield and several chips 4. Steering was so loose I had to fight to stay on the road 5. Truck was 34 miles from being out of gas and had to stop immediately to fill up 6. Truck made a grinding sound, probably the transmission. 6. Facility was supposed to be open till 6pm but when I arrived at 430p (my drop off time) there was a sign on the door saying they would be back at 5:20pm. 7. I had to stop 3 times for gas for a total of 27 gallons (minus the $9.00 credit) for a total of $80 in gas which means your truck is only getting 8 miles to the gallon. 1/2 of the mileage, the truck was not even loaded. I have rented Uhauls several times over the past 20 years and never encountered such a rotten rental experience.

Patsy CI called customer service needing assistance with my reservation, since my reservation was after the lot had closed and I was doing a pick up through the app. I thought the call dropped but when I called back (a few times) the agent kept hanging up on me.. I would rather be on hold and wait a while and wait for someone who would like to help me, than be repeatedly hung up on. Since I wasn’t able to receive the assistance I needed, I canceled the reservation.

I'm copying comments about the corporate above though: As for corporate - There was some confusion and chaos tied to some trailer tow requests being asked of us by Uhaul corporate. Those offers were low. We would have lost money in the transport due to the added mileage - Uhaul should not be in the habit of taking advantage of your customers this way. Moreover, in hindsight, our free/mandatory size upgrade cost us too because of the loss of efficiency in fuel mileage. I should not have been charged as much because it cost us more in the longrun and we were doing Uhaul a favor. Finally, we still don't have a receipt from our rental at this point.

Joseph kMy original appointment was cancelled after I sent a message stating I would pick up the truck at 2pm instead of 1230. When I arrived to the Gillespie street location, they were very nonchalant with trying to solve the issue as I had just driven 4.5 hours to get to the location. Instead of trying to help, they walked around talking to each other, completely ignoring me. I had to ask if it was a number I could call, and everyone seemed clueless at first, until they suggested I call the 1-800 uhaul number, which I was already on the phone with. The customer service rep I spoke to was very understanding and worked to find a truck as I told her there was no way I could get back to Fayetteville any other day. The attendant at the Pepperbush location was very nice and helpful. The only flaw with the truck was that it smelled like stale cigarettes and the rear view mirror with the back up camera was missing, which is really helpful.

Britta RThey lied about the mileage as well as the amount of gas in the uhaul. I nearly filled the tank up from the less than 3/4 that was in it when I picked it up (I took photos to call them on their bs lies) yet they claimed the full tank was less than 3/4 and charged me for 3 gallons at $7 a per gallon. My mileage was also incorrect. I would absolutely not recommend using them and ill be contacting corporate. This is sickening how they rip people off. Never again, crooks.
AMANDA NI thing everything was great I have no complaints. The two ladies were great that took set me up with my U-Haul. They even gave me a call for a few things that I had left behind instead of just changing me for clean up fees I would not change a thing. Look forward to seeing you guys on my next move!!!!

Arolys CThis wasn't my preferred location and the second location provided didn't have all needed equipment. My entire move was hours behind schedule because of the issues with Uhaul. I was charged $100 more than it stated my cost would be online and she claimed it was because of taxes... but taxes were $25... I don't understand why UHAUL centers weren't provided as a pick up location first. Some of these local centers have no idea what they are doing.
