it was raining when we picked up so wasnt too concerned about the lady not doing a walk around. inside floors, seats and headliner were very dirty. i took pictures of inside a couple traffic lights down the road. when we arrived at the apartment it wasnt raining so i took pictures of damages on outside of truck and inside box. the moving blankets were unzipped and not secured. the dolly was at the front of the box not secured. there is also a bolt missing for the dolly hold down bracket. i called the mgr to let her know about the blankets and dolly not being secured and we would not be using them and she said they werent in the truck when she checked it so someone must have put them in after her check and we were not being charged for them. when i went to add fuel on the way back to the rental office i found the gas cap broken in two pieces. i left the fuel level a little more than what was in it when i picked it up. the mgr was with customers when we returned the truck and she told us to just leave her the keys and we would receive the invoice by email.

Usually a moving truck service representative will do a walk through of the truck being rented to make sure its functional. At this location, that did not occur. I was just handed the keys and that was it. This location does not maintain the upkeep of the moving trucks. The rear door on truck was difficult to open. The dolly that came with truck was not secured to truck after opening rear door for first time. It was just sitting upright. I used my own dolly instead. Discovered later after everything was moved, that rear door was getting stuck because the cables holding the rear door were previously tangled on one side. Since rear door was malfunctioning and didn't want unsecured dolly left by previous renter or Uhaul to fly out of rear door while driving truck managed to get the door to closed and the the tangled cables supporting rear door snapped .

How about being sure the actual equipment you reserve is ON THE ACTUAL TRUCK? How hard is it to look at a reservation, look at the reserved accessories (two dollies) then look inside the truck to see if those pieces are there before placing the keys in the lock box? Apparently, VERY difficult.

I reserved a truck weeks in advance, but the day of my move my truck was not available. I was able to get a smaller truck but had to make more trips in my car due to the issue.

He lied to me. I wanted a 3 day rental changed to a two day rental. He said he could not change it at pick-up after he called and talked to someone. He told me if I returned it a day early I would be credited back the third day. I returned it a day early and was told there is no such policy. I want the extra day credited back. I am going to cause a problem until then. Ron Francis

I didn’t request/order a hand truck/dolly or furniture pads which were in the truck and was charged an additional $5 for each!!!!!! Furthermore I didn’t use either as I had my own hand truck and furniture pads

I reserved my vehicle online and specified NO coverage for $10. I thought reserving online would speed up the process but when I arrived the agent rewrote my contract to include the $10 coverage without asking me. I signed thinking I was signing the contract I did online but then realized I was billed the $10. Too much time out of my day is required to fight this so I just won’t use UHaul again because of these tricks. I’ll just stick to renting from Home Depot, it’s more straightforward.

Initially when picking up the uhaul my experience was great. I was given the truck no problem, the guy there even said that because the dolly and moving blankets were already in the truck we could use them and there would be no charge. There was no communication about after hours returns or anything so we decided to extend however the numbers online are presumably not correct seeing as no one answered and I left a couple of messages. The day after my original return date I get a call from the same guy who rented it out to me stating that uhaul was under the impression i was stealing their truck! So I asked if he could extend it a day so they wouldn't think that..... so he did. I returned after hours that next day and I see that I was charged for the dolly and blankets that he said were free.... not the best experience. More stressful than what it was worth.

It took over 30 minutes for the 800 number to provide me with a drop off location.. I dropped it off where instructed: 8539 Western Way, Jacksonville. The next morning, I went by there to make sure everything was alright. The representative informed me that the location isn't for 26 footers. I showed him my documents, that reflected call the 800 number for drop off points.

The gentleman that signed me in and gave me the keys was very nice and helpful. He even noticed I was having trouble backing the truck out of the parking space it was in, so he helped to guide me out of the space

My truck was taken by someone else, then I had to go to a different location to get one. Then when I got there I discovered could only have the truck for 3 hours. Not a good experience

I confirmed a 10ft truck on Monday. Wednesday received a call that a 10ft was unavailable but was offered a 15 ft for the same price which was helpful but with the gas cost this didn’t save me any money at all and cost me more.

The cab of the truck was perfectly cleaned. The truck portion had not been cleaned out as well and the furniture pads were piled up in the back were moist and smelled. I know they are NEVER cleaned but they were not folded and bagged.

Although I had a confirmation, an agent did not reach out to me. Almost did not get a truck as planned at that location. However, someone had turned in a key and it was available at the last minute. Agent was VERY nice. I was in and out in 10 mins even with the mix-up.

I tried to rent a van on Sunday 1/21/18. It was self pu but the online process wouldn't work so we called the 1 800 # to speak w customer service. We were told the person who returned the van didn't return it right but we could go to another store to pu but that was adding additional 35 - 40 miles at 59 cents amile. When we stated that it would defeat the purpose of trying to do this at a reasonable rate we were hung up on. Then trying to call back I was put on hold for 11 mins and then disconected, we gave up and the people that were helping us left. Monday 1/22/18 I went to the location I tried the day before to find out it was just a storage company that allows pu and drop off for U haul. So again we do the online process and we pu the van. When I go to return the online process doesn't work, it won't ck the truck back in, so again I call customer service to say it won't let me ck the truck in, I was told to drop my contract and key into lock box. So then I realized that was what happened and why I couldn't pu the truck on my original day when I had help lined up. Well when I said that to customer service she hung up on me. Is that the process of U haul 's customer service? So I called back and formed a complaint. I was told that process generally takes 3 days, so I'm waiting for that call back.

This Uhaul rental location was excellent and extremely flexible to my needs. Separately, some of these locations do not have the add-on equipment available. We wanted to rent a dolly, but since this location is only a drop-off and pickup location, it didn't have that equipment available. I hope Uhaul can change the rental process so that when people such as myself are renting, we are more aware before finalizing the rent.

Mistakenly, we delivered the truck to this location, based on the assumption that the customer sesrvice rep on the phone had used the location closest to our move, which turns out that wasn't the case. When the vehicle was returned, the representative inside the store made no mention that we had brought the truck to the incorrect place, and magically we got a bill for over $100 via email for this mistake. When approaching Uhaul about this situation, we were told to return to the store to get the key and return the truck to the correct location, and thanks to some unknown discrepancy between the phone representative and the store we returned the truck to, this became a giant, ridiculous hassle. The field manager for the Jacksonville division, Brian, was completely unwilling to assist us with this at all. So, it just cost $260 for me to use a truck to go less than 20 miles. I would like to say that I do appreciate the phone representative, Andy, for trying his best to help me resolve this situation to my satistfaction, but overall this has been a nightmare. I am still hopeful that this situation can be rectified.
