There was no hospitality. I didn’t feel welcomed at any point of being there. I would’ve rather not collect/drop off the U-Haul keys in person; using your mobile phone for the complete process is better if you would love to continue having a nice day. Other than that the U-Haul was in good condition and I was able to do what I needed to do in a timely manner.

FAISAL RThey didn’t have any of the equipment I had reserved and no one let me know until I was there. The lady completing the reservation complained the whole time that they weren’t supposed to make reservations at 8 am.
MARK GThe truck initially didn’t have air conditioning during my first part of the trip. But the blower came on 1/4 of my trip. Please, ensure the truck is fully functioning before the next use.

The uhaul in downtown Winston Salem was very helpful and took very good care of our needs. We have been very happy with uhaul thru the years. Thank you very much.
Pat FLady was extremely rude when I went in after booking online and was instructed to walk and and pick up keys on the wall. She rudely told me they don’t do that and preceded to have a huge attitude and then told me everything else I had also reserved and already paid for , they don’t have . A dolly and packing blankets . Refused to print off a receipt after changing the things they didn’t have in stock . Would not recommend

Daniel GWork on better customer service. The front desk lady was snarky and rude. Make sure rented equipment that’s booked prior to pickup is in the rental vehicle. Customers should not have to transport their handtrucks to their rental, these things should already be set up in the back of the truck.
Jaelyn NI did not receive my furniture or utility dolly and the storage place I picked the truck up from did not have any on site. Instead they gave me an appliance dolly that I couldn’t even use.

Heather MThere was no way to turn headlights on/off as the controls had been removed from the truck. The Service Tire Pressure System message was on the entire time as was the tire pressure sensor. This is an indication of the tire sensors in the tires themselves going bad and needing to be replaced. When driving, as you accelerate, the air conditioner would turn off and quit blowing cold air for a couple of minutes and then come back on again. I had reserved a dozen of the furniture pads (and paid for them) and there were none in the truck. The inside of the windshield was disgusting as was the steering wheel. I actually wore work gloves to drive the entire time.

Carrigan MThe pickup location was terrible, their staff was rude. I didn't get my reserved dollies, I literally got none! The truck reeked of cigarettes and the steering and transmission was messed up.

PAULA FThere seemed to be a surprise when I arrived with the truck to drop off. I had contacted the regional office and they were to notify the drop off location. Apparently the drop off location had not received the news at that point that I was arriving with a truck to drop off.
Douglas LMy initial contact was great! My second communication was to question what to do if the driver wasn't me and was met with attitude as if I was asking the craziest question in the world (I'm 5'1" and don't drive 20' trucks). She said, "I guess just have them give us your name. She also asked when it was being picked up (which she should've known) and when I told her she acted like that was a problem as well. THIS IS YOUR BUSINESS! When my driver showed up, he said that he had issues with them signing over everything and forcing him to give them mileage (which we didn't know yet and had already guesstimated). So they took the "contract" out of my name and put it in his without notifying me or him. Unfortunately, we then had an injury and needed the truck another day. I had to call Uhaul because this location was closed. I was able to secure the truck but they couldn't find my original order in the system anywhere. Basically, if I hadn't given them my driver's information, I would've been out-of-luck. I then asked Uhaul for a confirmation receipt sent to me and they sent it to the driver. I will never rent from them again.

PHYLLIS SCustomer service. I used the mobile check in to “bypass the line,” still had to go inside a building and wait in line. Really no reason to check in with the app, considering I waited as long as anyone else would in line. Lady was not very nice.

The gas hand is not working properly I took a picture of the gas hand when I dropped the truck it was more gas in the truck then what my receipt was showing I am going to Dispute the extra $20 I was charged, thank you

Jose MThe truck that I drove was horrible. It took longer to move because a 25 minute drive took 45 minutes because it sounded like the transmission was about to go. Other than that everything is fine! If I was going long distance I would make sure the truck is in top shape!

ann mI reserved online the truck and equipment. I was led to believe that the online reservation would reserve everything I asked for. When I arrived to do mobile pick up at 7 am as requested, there was no equipment in the truck. I called U-Haul and they said I could go to a different location that was already open to get the equipment but I called before I went. That location had none available. I ended up being an hour behind to wait for my location to open only to find out they do not have all the equipment I paid for! The person at the desk did take the dolly they did not have off so I was not charged. U-Haul needs to do better. Evidently there is no communication between what is available at the individual locations and what is allowed to be reserved. When I returned at 5:06 the office was still open. However I was told my rental would have to be processed in the morning but could I go get the equipment out and bring it in? Uh no. If it’s not processed until morning then the equipment will stay in there until morning. I’m not sure who is really at fault but I would call the actual location to verify they have everything you need. And DON’T USE THE APP FOR RESERVATIONS! Call the actual location!
Jennifer KExhaust leak smell in cab.. had 9 miles to E so had to put gas in it, thankfully there was a gas station right up the road. And the appliance dolly was unavailable the only reason I rented such a big truck.

Madeline GThis drop off location was not originally assigned to us. And the 1 star is not only reflecting their service... and secret charges... but additionally the whole system and company's capacity to provide professional service. We have to find this location ourselves, drop off the keys without any employees helping us, and we were actually charged over $100 of "moving and relocation" fees since they have to move the 20" uhaul truck and car transport trailer to other locations on their time. We paid the bill because Uhaul "Traffic" was down. Why? How? I guess that's in the small print. Later, I called back (since no one was there) to confirm the drop-off so we could close the bill. They were really upset that we would drop off the uhaul at their location and said it wasn't our fault... but it wasn't fair. We were directed there. They charged us a few days later through the system without our consent. I suspect they have this right, I was just surprised and disappointed that our very long, painful ordeal with Uhaul would end with additional charges that we found ourselves.
Jonathan BIT IS NOT IMMEDIATELY CLEAR TO CUSTOMERS IF THE TRAILER IS THE OFFICE FOR "STORAGE SENSE." YES, THERE IS A LARGE SIGN THAT LOOMS HIGH BUT WHERE IS THE OFFICE?
william mSuzy was friendly and very helpful and I enjoyed the experience. I only used the van for 2-hours and it could have been cleaner inside.
Scott AThe U-haul I rented came with a bag of moving blankets and a dolly that were tagged to the truck and could not be removed. They would not take them out or let me take them out. Wasted the whole corner of a 15’ truck. When confronting them about the problem they said “Well no one else has had a problem with it”. Don’t rent a truck if it’s not empty.
Liam FFront desk was disorganized and didn't seem to know what they were doing, but eventually figured it out. Everything else was great and there were no major problems.
Jason AReservation stated to mobile pickup truck at 8am but when I attempted that day at 8 it stated I could not do it until 9 when that office opens. Then why let me book a reservation at 8? Customer service number lady very rude and no apology. The office lady also very rude and blamed everything on the customer service line. Was behind 2 hours on moving and no one offfered me anything. Had movers behind that I had to pay all because I was given false information and also was with the office another hour doing my booking all over again and ended up leaving around 10.. so I spent two hours at the office waiting.
