Trying to rent the vehicle was very challenging. Told we could not reserve until 24 hrs before told When trying the next day we were told we should have booked the uhaul earlier as the vehicle was just rented. Told we needed to prove we had insurance. Many phone calls and perseverance to rent the vehicle. placed on hold for considerable time only to be told we had two vehicles rented in a city in the usa. Finally everything was straightened out by the local rental company who treated us well and apologized for all the problems trying to rent.

i originally booked a van rental online, when i showed up with my confirmation number, the system pulled up someone in texas and not me for the rental. fortunately there was a van there for me to rent, if there hadnt been though, i would have gone elsewhere and the business would have been lost. this needs to be fixed if youre going to offer the ease of online booking!

I reserved 3 weeks plus in advance at a location closer. A few days ahead uhsul advised I would have to pick up 40 km away and not where I reserved. So I cancelled and reserved with this location who worked it out. Great folks but I am unlikely to choose u haul first again.

We got a smaller truck than we had reserved - had it not been for the many vans and extra trailers besides , we would have had to make an extra trip with the U Haul and therefore add more cost for kilometers , gas and time from helpers .

Garbage had been left in the vehicle. Vehicle had not been washed. Features of the vehicle, (cruise, odometer, climate control etc.) were not explained. Staff however was very friendly and courteous.

Vehicle was in very good shape. A lot of confusion about liability. It should be stated to the customer that the vehicle comes with $200,000.00 in liability which is the minimum in Ontario. Personally, I think this is terribly inadequate for urban driving (downtown Toronto, Ontario ) with lots of cyclists and pedestrians jumping out at you. Staff at U-Haul in Owen Sound did not seem to understand what liability insurance was or what was covered. They suggested that it might be covered with OUR automobile insurance which is completely wrong when renting a commercial vehicle. Lots of stress until this question was answered as I called around, Vehicle was fine.

Completely so disorganized!!!! The truck was dirty and had problems shifting into reverse so not well-maintained at all . Was many hours late on getting us our truck and also gave us the wrong size. And the list goes on!!!!

My original reservation was for a uhaul trailer out of the town I live in for pick and return. Even though there was a trailer at that location I was informed I could not reserve it, but instead could only reserve a trailer at the Owen Sound location which is an hour away from me. Not as convenient for the pick up or return.

Am returning customer. Have used cargo van recently and needed the 10 ft. truck to finish total move. Called to make the reservation as online it appeared the 10ft. might be available on the Monday but not the rest of the week. Gave all info and told 10ft was requested and confirmation would be sent to my email that I provided. Later received confirmation of a 15ft truck, not the 10ft. At least given at price of the 10ft. but way more capacity than needed and used more fuel than the 10ft would have. Picking up vehicle was immediately served as no one else for pick-up. When I returned late the same day, someone was in the office but seemed to be more just a chatting session (there was a wallet out on the desk so assume it was a customer), but I was disappointed the employee would complete my rental and provide the receipt then, as I asked. Was told it would be checked in the morning and emailed to me. If she had been in the middle of actually processing the other customers order, I would have been more understanding. But they were obviously just chatting, so service rating a bit lower than they could have had. Will need a truck again in future to remove some things from storage, so may use UHaul then from Stow It.

The after-hours drop-off box did not have clear instructions on it on the process needing to be followed. Make sure you take a picture of the dashboard WHILE completing the online procedure before you drop off your keys. That should be in big BOLD letters.

Have clear guideline and instructions over the phone and online so that when I actually get to the store I'm not sidelined and told they can't get me what I need and then I end up paying almost $40 more then the original planned.

Have a worker walk around the truck and inspect it with the customer . Point out the damage stickers.my truck did not have stickers attached. I had to call to have them document them Having not rented one of these trucks things for emergency and truck set up would have helped

Despite the fact that the change oil light was on when I initially started the vehicle and conducted my walk around , the courteousness and professionalism of the young lady on staff more then made up for it. She was very busy but immediately offered another vehicle and recorded that the vehicle required servicing. I have rented from this location on several occasion and will continue to do so.

The person who signed me out didn't make it clear that the paper on the side of their desk was my contract into and there was also the key - would have been better to had these things directly to the customer before going out to the parking lot. Also, the windshied was covered by a very large advertising sun shade. In hindsight, I felt the staff member should have removed it and stored it at the office, rather than leaving me to get the thing out of the window, realign the visors and then find a place to store the large cardboard cover. In defense of the staff who were friendly and quick to get my cargo van pick-up processed, I did arrive quite early by taxi, and they hadn't really had a chance to get themselves set-up for the day. They signed me in about 15 min. earlier than I was expected which helped me get on my travels earlier too. Overall, the UHaul rental went very smoothly and we'll use them again.

When we asked what the third chain was for when attaching the 6'x12' trailer to our truck we were told it was for nothing. However once we had it to the home where it was being loaded. The instructions on the back of the door informed us that the third chain was the actual break for the trailer. This is something that could've caused not only ourselves but our vehicle damage. Meaning we would have had to pay for that employees mistake.

When we do a late night return to the compound, I could not find a way out to my ride waiting outside the compound. I gave them the code to open the gate, but had they not been there I am not sure what my options would have been! Thanks for helpful servcie

It started out as a positive experience getting a contract 5weeks in advance. Then on the I was to get the truck, it was late. After waiting 3 1/2 hours I was told I would have to drive 45 minutes to a different city to get a truck. My original agreement covered the round trip and I could drop off the truck any time the next day. My new agreement made it a two loan doubling the cost and less mileage per day. Not a happy experience.

I was shocked at the final bill. I would not have expected to pay for both gas and mileage. It should be one or the other. $19,99 ad us misleading.
