U-Haul needs to read the reviews already noted on the site regarding this location. I would not normally use a business with such terrible reviews but our usual location was closed due to the holiday and we needed a vehicle. He charged our credit card for fuel that was not needed and a $30.00 fee. He appears to be scamming people for additional funds. I have watched my credit card every day since to ensure no further charges are being made. Not where a customer should be. Very disorganized as well.

When I went to drop off the trailer, a guy in the parking lot told me where to park it, then got in a van and left. Went to go inside the business and the door was locked.

Don’t allow booking on a Sunday for a Sunday if the owner does not support. Also, and more important. I will not likely rent from U-Haul again due to the ridiculous app that cost me hours in retries to upload photos. The app is supposed to add convenience and efficiency, but in reality only offers U-Haul a way not to employ a person, while overcharging and highly focussed on up charges with tiny print for rejecting additional services. Almost as bad as cable tv negative billing

I believe the rule level upon rental was incorrect. I drove 20 miles and added $20 in fuel yet I was charged $40 based on the return fuel level

Van buried in snow and ice. No scraper or brush provided. Driving 400 at 100 km/h and discovered no windscreen fluid. No owners manual to figure out how to release hood. Uhaul credited my invoice to cover cost of fluid. Booking was done day before. Preparation should have been done before we arrived. I am 62 and my friend 78

I had to pull the dolly out from under the snow, clean it off and load the dolly and my car by myself. Eventually the guy tried to help me get the lights working but he wasn't successful and I went and bought magnetic lights from canadian tire to make the trip.

Make sure equipment is in good working order. First trailer needed new tire had steel belts coming out of tire. Second trailer running lights didn’t work !! Not very safe. Location didn’t seem to care. I had to re wire break light on my trip. Very poor service I feel that Uhaul doesn’t really care about customers and safety. What a waste of money.

I checked in online the night before. I was to pick up the truck at 9:30 am. The website said this location did not open til 10 am. i showed up at 9:45. it was open. A gentleman scooted in before me to pick up a van. The key for it was in the lock box outside. After the attendant finished a phone call, About 5 minutes. She went out to get the key. the lock was frozen, she made a call and was told to boil water for it. The other man used a cigarette lighter to warm it up, it opened, Then she set him up. The it was my turn. I was there for 40 minutes , just standing around.hour, everyone was waiting for me. There are not too many other rental services so we as consumers just have to take it from U Haul. My last 2 rentals with you were not fun either. Rented a motorcycle trailer from Barrie essa location. It was not there when i got there and was asked to wait 3 hours to get it. I opted for picking one up 40 miles away. i needed to pick up a vehicle that day. I wrote in; but never did get the 50 dollar , promised refund for my rental not being there on time. A time after that I rented a motorcycle trailer from the Barrie Essa location again. I asked if there was a trailer closer to me, As there is a u Haul associate 5 min from my house, they said no and told me i had to come to them. There was a trailer there; but ' i had already booked. I asked if i could drop it off in Angus near my house, they said no. So lots of extra driving for me. I dred using your service . as many people i know do.. It is always a comedy of errors.

Truck was to be picked up for 10am. We arrived at this site at 10:10am and waited. No one was at the store, we tried calling the number on their sign, no one answered. Then I got to sit in the cold on hold waiting on Customer Service (not there fault their busy) but 2 seperate calls into CS finally got a hold of the store Owner at 11:30am only to hear that he was there until 11am and guess he didn't hear us.. there were no there cars, no fresh steps in the snow going to the store, front or back, because we banged on both doors. Do yourself a favor and don't get your truck at this location!!

I reserved a truck at the Stroudtech agent for after hours pick up. It was not ready when I arrived and I had to wait 2+ hours for the store to open in order to pick up my UHaul truck

Pick up location was changed 3 times in a row and truck had bad breaks. Also no way to get money back for the furniture pads which i never received and i paid for. Last time using uhal, i would rather rent truck from some other company.

Not only was the guy not there for pick up, the location was a dump, garbage everywhere when we finally got the truck it hadn't been cleaned and clearly needed a new fuel pump as it barely turned over. To top it off there was no washer fluid in the truck at all. The location took valuable time away from us as we are not overly tec savvy and we're assured that we could pick up the truck in person instead of having to do online check in. 45 min later we had the truck.

Started off a little rough as we weren’t told that the U-haul we reserved was in for maintenance, but that being said we were accommodated quite quickly! Staff was great & the u-haul itself was in great condition. Would definitely recommend to anyone that is moving!!

Trailer had debris and dirt in It from the last user, there were old bolts and springs in it. The person I checked in with was on the phone with a personal or business issue while talking to me at the same time. I was not the priority.

When I went to return to my assigned drop-off they had no record of the required key number to find the file at their end. Had to spend time waiting while they placed two calls. Told them I wasn't about to drive it back to the pickup which was three and a half hours at least. They finally got clearance to accept the truck and close the file. Just what you don't need after two days of loading moving and unloading in extreme heat!

Had a hard time finding the trailer I needed it was dirty full of mud employee had to sweep out and when I returned to sight employee forgot to check in and I received a phone call asking if I returned or was still using 2 days later not happy with experience

He was more than half an hour late, He didn't even come out side to check it. He said I could go after I parked it. I got him to sign my contract for proof that I returned it. 3 days later, U Haul called asking when I was going to return the trailer. I had already returned it to the store, but he didn't do his paper work to show I had returned it.

Without any warning at all our pick up appt was changed to a mobile pick up Truck Share. We had no idea what to do and the pick up store was closed and the phone # provided on store front was not answered and text not returned. The wait time to speak to UHaul rep was 30 mins by phone. The whole pick up experience was awful and put us back an hour!

The truck I got was NOT safe to drive. The owner didn't show up till 9:45 am for us to pick up the truck, mean while pick-up is for 9 am. Had to call roadside to my home. Wasn't allowed to load truck till roadside got to home to check truck. Roadside finally got to home at 1:45 pm, he drove truck on side street only. Can back and said needs New pump of something but said "SHOULD make it to whitby from Barrie." Here's my number just incase you run into any problems cause I'm from Ajax. The damn truck shook, had serious vibration and the jolts and omg had to drive with 4 ways on as could not go over 30km, dashboard didn't light up n Turned off twice on the 400 highway. Called the roadside guy at 8pm to let hi. Know of the bigger issues of truck losing power. I was told if it happened again We would have to call for a tow. Now with that being said, we thought if we call a tow, we would have to unload truck and reload again. Totally insane. Finally got to Warden n Kingston road at 10:45 pm. Drop truck off to sit till April 13th to hit Whitby our final destination. Picked up truck stalled twice while starting up. Drove to Whitby with 4 ways on due to the unsafe issues. Finally unloaded and brought back to location at 515 Taunton in Oshawa. Once again had to call into Roadside to let them know about this unsafe truck to open another ticket. Mind you..Roadside knew on Monday April 8th and April 9th and April 13th. When speaking with the lady from Roadside My son was told that someone from head office will call me within 3 days and no money would be taken out of my account until this was closed. Well do believe it cost me $219.22 for rental of a unsafe 26 foot truck and when dropped off at location to see a email receipt of another $93.16 taken out of my bank account. Now I am beyond passed I call CS April 14th. Spoke to OMAR who was unprofessional. He told me he called John the manager from head office who was dealing with this matter 3 times but unfortunately he didn't answer. As I continued to speak with Omar the lies I kept catching him in, I had no choice to hang up. So now I sit back and wait for JOHN to call me. I have videos and pictures of this unsafe vehicle. Not only did Uhaul put my son at risk of driving this, but they put many others on that Highway 400 n highway 401 and the side streets to whitby at risk. I am totally disgusted!!!!! Been a nightmare from start to finished. Oh yes when picked up truck, the back of truck was opened n smelt like human pee. Was not inspected from the store pickup. In the many years I have used Uhaul this is my last. I will now hire movers.

I was really disappointed that there was no jack to help lift the trailer. The employee on site was not strong enough to lift it on his own, which left my elderly father having to do it. There was no mention of this when renting it.

Incorrect mileage outbound led to a discrepancy on the invoice. I was over charged. The clerk wasn't sure how to resolve the problem, but in the end was resolved. Alot of discrepancies on the invoice from U.S conversions to Canadian.

Make sure the supplied equipment for the car trailer is in good shape. One strap was cust shorter and barley made it to the ratchet. Also, ratchets hard to use, due to winter corrosion. Also, there has to be better communication between the dealer and head office. I had head office ask me if I still had the trailer, the day after I had dropped it off. To make it worse, they whent ahead and charged me for an extra day, too. This company is convient to have in town but, they seem disorganized.

Terrible experience. The uhaul agent had no idea how to check out the equipment to me, he had to get someone on video chat to walk him through it. I didn’t get paper copies of the contracts, never walked around the truck to ensure that there was no damage. The gas on the one contract was higher than what was in the truck so I asked him about it and his reply to me was that it’s what the computer populated and he didn’t input it.

Avoid this pickup location, gas gauge was not correct on the invoice, got extra charge after returning the truck. Ordered 12 moving blankets,, received only 4-5 and after returning the truck they charged me for the missing ones $48. The guy at the pickup didn’t make any notes how many he have me. I had to call the main office to complain to get refund. Not honest pickup location or just careless.

Did not know where the parking brake was located in the cargo van. Usually it is on the floor as a pedal. You should point this out to the customer. Brakes need some servicing. They stick a little when you release them.
